I do not recommend this tour. While Barry is a nice person, he was far more interested in talking about himself than Sedona. The schedule is too tight to accommodate all the places in the itinerary and we ended up having to cancel our visit to Jerome in order to stay on our schedule. read more

Barry showed us an absolutely amazing time!! We got everything we wanted out of it - he picked us up at our hotel at our convenience and we told him what he were hoping to experience and he delivered. He took us to some amazing vineyards with gorgeous views (and even better wine), and we ended up at a fantastic bar with live music and a cheese board (just like we asked) for sunset views. This past weekend was my sister's bachelorette party and we booked this tour for our group of 12 girls. We were told that all of us would be riding together in one large party bus or sprinter van and that was not the case. Two SUVs showed up, and we all had to cram in two separate groups while Barry, repeatedly rolled up windows, hit child locks, and barely let us play any music. Our original booking was for a group of 16 and we were told that would be fine. There is no way we could've all fit in those cars. This is the only wine tour I've ever been on where we didn't go to any wineries or vineyards most of the six hours was wasted on lengthy irrelevant information, mansplaining, and shady comments, thrown at the other tour companies our guide had worked for. Our party was space cowgirl themed, and my sister was very excited to hear about all things vortex energy, paranormal, and this was not it. Almost forgot the racist Asian impression done in our car with two Vietnamese family members in the group. We are a pretty fun group and it took a lot of repeated cringe behavior to suck the energy out of the afternoon. Very disappointing. read more

Best tour of its kind ever. I didn't do the wine part, but I got a private tour of spiritual areas and the prana experience by local expert/owner Barry Scrivner. He seems the most knowledgeable person in the area about the spiritual history of Sedona, having been in service for more 31 years. He is quite sensitive to the spiritual practices of his clients, and very forthcoming about what is known and not known scientifically. I particularly enjoyed our conversation. Barry offers a really nice tour of the vortex "hot spots". We did the 2 hour tour option and he took us around to multiple scenic spots, was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the unique geological phenomena of the red rocks. Knew the names of all of the landforms and knew a few interesting ones to point out. After seeing the sights, he took us to a local wine shop. We enjoyed flights of local Arizona grown wines (who knew?) and he continued to tell us stories about Sedona, and answered lots of our questions about other southwestern sights to see. Things to be aware of: the tour cost pays for transport, knowledge, and a few scenic spots. Wine is not included - you pay separately for it. Also, if you're totally not into the whole psychic energy vortex thing, this might not be the tour for you. We booked and got a tour the same day. But if you have specific things you want to see, give him a call/email in advance and he'll customize an experience for you. Overall we were quite happy with our tour. Could you do it yourself? This tour is a scam and a complete waste of time. Owner offered tour hours on the website including those late into the afternoon. We were arriving late so we selected the latest available. He was not able to honor that. So he called the next day to offer a shorter tour and claimed he'd prorate it, and that we would still be able to see many different sites, including vortices, see some of the town, and go wine tasting. That was not the case we did not go to any vortices but instead went to two scenic spots and sat in his SUV for hours as he told nonsensical stories including the false story of seeing something "spiritual" that he called prana. There was nothing spiritual about it. He told us he basically was high and stared into the sky and saw what's called the blue field entoptic phenomenon. Me and my friend's are medical professionals and were not at all impressed because we all said that we see that all the time. I tried to see if maybe I was doing something wrong but I wasn't he just used this natural phenomenon to scam people. The tour took an extremely awkward turn after this, more awkward than it had already been. He then kept trying to convince us to go to his "friend's" restaurant when we had asked to go wine tasting and was visibly disappointed when we opted to go to a nearby restaurant instead so we could end the tour and go back to our airbnb. He bashed the other tour operators but I'm confident we would've had an actual tour seeing the sites of Sedona and not sat in the car for hours with this guy and his fabricated stories. Save your money and don't waste your time. read more

We were very curious about Sedona Votrexes, and we were going to take another tour with a different company, but we saw Barry's company, and it looked so much more interesting. We are so glad we booked with Barry! He took us on the most incredible Prana viewing Vortex journey! We didn't know what Prana was, but after Barry explained the process, we were able to interact with the amazing little white particles floating around in the air, and between our fingers! Mind blowing! Not only was he personable, he was fun and intelligent, and really knew his stuff! Anytime we come back too Sedona, we will most definitely be booking with him exclusively! Booked this tour to get some views of Sedona without realizing that when the owner mentioned the tours are in a 4x4 vehicle on the website... it's actually in an enclosed SUV. After initially booking they never mentioned this and actually moved our reservation time to a later date because they are unavailable, later once we realized this would not be in an open-air vehicle (like a jeep) we cancelled and received no refund or credit. The owner took our money nearly a week before we booked, and then had no courtesy to offer even a partial credit for a tour at another time to make it right for us. This was our honeymoon and we did not want to sacrifice the experience we were looking for and were disappointed in the lack of transparency we received. Also we booked initially wanting a ~2hr tour, however, the owner told us to "expect it to be a 5hr tour" which of course is an up-charge being that you pay per hour per person. We feel completely scammed and I would advise to never pay upfront for a tour unless you have a recommendation and have clearly vetted the company, this was the worst customer service we've ever received in Sedona and we visit often. read more
