Fav dishes to get are mei fun or haw fun noodles with chicken/duck he mei fun used to be the super duper thin noodles but it's changed over the years which kinda stinks but i still enjoy and comes with chinese broccoli i believe? Lot of places give no veggies so i like that. Any meat over rice with cabbage dish is super good! Good pieces of meat often times i ask for white meat/lean :) Peking duck YASSSS cut well and comes with a good portion of meat to skin since some restaurants just give a lot of skin...we order dau mui BEST VEGGIE perf amount of garlic so flavorful, shrimp with honey walnuts or black bean lobster sauce best to drown your rice with, fish maw soup with crab use some vinegar and white pepper delicious, fish fillet with veggies or in the stone pot with eggplant and tofu (eat the cabbage it soaks up all the sauce yum), mapo tofu! Just the right amount of spicy also used to drown my rice in, lobster tad pricey but where is it not. Pan fried noodles not overly saucy so it still has a crunch to it. Chicken aint too dry but the shrimp chips i usually don't recommend since they are often stale or soggy and flounder is hit or miss imo can be really good or pretty bland which is disappointing. Nothing fancy like ther big places, but it'll cure your dimsum fix. Good price, portion, and service. I was severely disappointed with the service and quality of the food. I believe I've given this place ample number chances as I've came here multiple times over years, but every time, the quality seems to just decline and becomes worse than the last. I'm not sure what the problem was. Perhaps it's the constant change of wait staff and/or management, or maybe a different chef was working in the kitchen. It's also possible that the stress of it being Mother's day weekend (when restaurants like these get super busy) overwhelmed them that Saturday night. Can't really say for sure what went wrong, but regardless, the experience was not a good one. Service - This. Everything went wrong. For a party of 8, we ordered about 10 dishes to share, like the usual family style. A staple dish in Chinese/Canton cuisine is rice. We opted for an order of fried rice over the usual bowls of white rice to accompany our other dishes. The rice came last. Yep. After we were through with almost everything else. But that's not all. The wait staff kept mixing up our orders with other tables! We got things we never ordered, and things we ordered never came. If it wasn't that, then our orders would be wrong.. Got shrimp instead of chicken for example. The food itself was also not great. Everything felt a bit wet and soggy. The secret behind a good Canton dish is usually what we call "Wok heat." It's where the food is cooked over an extremely high heat in the wok and it gives the food an undescribable "pop?" if you will. It removes the moisture quickly so the food is not soggy, but it doesn't overcook the food. I would unlikely return here by choice. read more

Although the waiters weren't rude, their service seemed as if they were rushing us. :/ They have a prefixed menu if you reserve a table here; the prefixed menu is around $300 (tax and tips included). The prefixed menu feeds about 10, 15, and even 20 people, with 9 dinner meals (protein such as pork, fish, and various shrimp, tofu, fried rice, and noodle dishes, as well as veggies) and complimentary coke, Pepsi, birthday buns (if you consume these, legend has it that you'll live longer), orange slices, and sweet red bean soup (Dessert). Did I just die? Because their lobster w/ ginger & scallion smells & tastes like heaven! The batter on the shell, flavors, Ginger/scallion sauce, simply exquisite & other worldly! Everything authentic Chinese should be on a Thursday night between 6-8pm; clean tablecloths, good natured staff, quiet & not too crowded! Really bad experience. Never felt that way before. I promised dim-sum to my daughter and came here early in the morning. Ok, not that early for some people, but pretty early to find this place crazy packed with 6-7 dozen people at 9am . Every table was taken and all waiters were running around like chickens without heads trying to find specific dim sum for the customers they are serving and because all dim sum were scattered all over the restaurant chaos was everywhere. People were walking in non stop to join their family that were already seated. When I walked to a woman at the counter, she was serving other customers with their order, totally ignoring me. I stayed for a while waiting for my turn, but when she was finished with that customer, another one walked in after me but immediately was greeted by her, meanwhile she kept ignoring me and started to help him with his order. When I politely asked for help 15 min since I walked in I was still ignored by her. Finally 25 min later, and I'm not kidding you, when I was about to leave, a nice lady that was staying behind me in line spoke to her on chinese and finally I was given 30 sec attention and an eye contact. When I asked for 4 orders of shrimp dim-sum and 4 orders of beef plus anything else they have w/shrimp she rudely reply that I have to wait for another 20 min for a new order to come from the kitchen and literally gave me one order of shrimp. Trust me I was ready to run away and never come back, but a young girl just appeared following a cloud of steam that was coming from the kitchen with a tray filled with freshly cooked dim-sum. I was glad that I didn't leave, but what happened then I am still trying to comprehend a day later. While I was expecting my order to be wrapped, she instead just took another customer at this time. It was a nice older chinese gentlemen who also asked for few orders of shrimp dim-sum and politely referred to me if I was waiting in front of him, and I replied with "yes." After finishing serving him she gave him change and was about to call another customer, when I just put my bag on her counter table and asked ( still politely) for a manager. Most frustrating dinner experience. - I called in advance to reserve a table for 15, specifically asking the guy on the phone if the table would be able to seat 15. He said that it was more than enough and that he would save us the largest table. I get to the restaurant and the table clearly does not fit 15 and they would not let us move the table away from the wall a bit so we can add extra seats/chairs. What was supposed to be a family dinner turned into a dinner where everyone was separated into two seperate tables. - Waiters are rude; it was obvious that they were talking about us. They would keep looking over and then turn around and whisper something. This is my favorite restaurant in the world! We have been going since I was a little girl when our grandmother took us and the rest of the relatives too. I always remembered the pan fried noodles. They are thin and delicious and the edge of the noodles have a great crunch. As an adult I tried to find this dish when I was eating at other restaurants, but they didn't come anywhere close to Wing Hing. In fact, the other places were yucky. I also love the sauteed choy sum, sweet and sour chicken, chicken with cashew nuts, hot and sour soup, winter melon soup, chicken tofu soup, spare ribs, szechuan tofu...I can't wait to try every dish because everything I have had here is delicious! Dim sum until 3:00. Yummy and so inexpensive. The servers are so attentive--perfect ! More than one waiter will often help, so you will be well taken care of!! If you're ever in the mood for duck, then this is the place for you. Dim sum? Sure! Low prices? You betcha! Good service? Let's not get crazy here! Okay, the service is not warm and inviting if you don't speak Chinese, but someone who speaks some English will help you out, and your stomach will thank you for not leaving. They really have great food here, but you have to be patient. It appears to be a family run restaurant, and you can tell that the food is fresh. Really enjoyed the dim sum here today. Based upon a write up in serious eats, I headed to Avenue U instead of East Harbor Seafood, which is my usual go-to for dim sum. Not too much cart action here, but the quality was there. The shrimp dumplings were very tasty, but the real stand out was the peking duck sell for $12 dollars for a half order which was a meal in itself. Sometimes they leave out certain items on their tray cart for who knows how long, and when you get it, it's cold and dry on the outside. Sadly, as one other reviewer pointed out, I'd have to agree; this might be the best dim sum place on Avenue U. The two things that I do like and recommend (and which they haven't screwed up yet) are the meatballs and the tripe in sauce. Warning, though -- the brown stuff swimming around among the tripe is NOT meat, it's disgusting organs which you don't wanna put in your mouth! They keep getting shut down for health violations, and then keep reopening under slightly different names, all with the word "Wing" somewhere in there. But we went on Mothers Day last minute decision to go out and eat. We tried another restaurant nearby and was told no tables at all. So we went to Wing Hing to try. One of the waiters told us ok, five minutes someone is paying. We were a group of three people. An old couple came in and asked for a table for five. So when the table of five paid their bill and got up, we knew it was our turn and our table. But the old couple just walked straight towards that table, and the waiter who told us that table was going to be ours was about to give it to the old couple. But my mom walked quickly and sat down. Like don't get me wrong, I give up seats on the train for old people, help them on the streets and let them walk or leave first and I have no intention of fighting with old people for a table. But we were here first and the waiter was suppose to honor the fact that he told us it would be us next. So another table opened up and the stupid waiter told the old couple, this table is even better, bigger for your group of five. He also said "these mean people are like that nowadays". Very messed up. I was going to flip sh*t or some tables but I kept my cool. The other waiters were fine and very nice. Just that one waiter, I guess he thought five people would probably give him more business and money than the three of us. Anyways, we ordered some vegetable (dou miu) with garlic ($18.95), Beef with Hawaiian nuts ($18.95), oyster pot ($16.95), and then added another dish a bit after, the Mayonnaise shrimp with walnuts and broccoli ($18.95). The vegetable looked overcooked (all dead and droopy) when it came and it sure tasted overcooked. The beef with Hawaiian nuts was pretty good, just a bit salty. It had a lot of beef and Hawaiian nuts. But it also had a lot of celery and carrots (which I hate). The oyster pot had seven oysters in it with a lot of onions, scallions and ginger. No choy sum or lettuce, which usually comes on the bottom of this dish at most places. This one was also kind of salty and a bit oily. The mayonnaise shrimp was not the best I've had, didn't taste like it was just fried, already feeling a bit soggy. It came with broccoli and sugar coated walnuts (I liked it) and a few fried coconut cakes/ pastries. The whole dish got a bit too much for us, with the mayonnaise, the sugar from the sugar coated walnuts and the sweet fried coconut cakes/pastries. We got one bowl of rice ($1). The food is not bad but like I've said, not the best around and not my first pick. I used to come here often for Dimsum and dinner but stopped because they kept switching bosses and chefs so things just went downhill. The service and food has deteriorated over the years. My family and I used to be regulars for the dim sum and occasionally dinner. Not anymore. I advise everyone to stay far away. My mother and I recently went there for a birthday lunch. There was one small table that seemed to have been recently vacated. However, the manager had lied to us and said that he's not sure if the patron was done yet. Then, he made it seem like he would know very soon and we would get the table. He asked us to take a seat in the "waiting area." However, a couple came in and gave him some cash. You guessed it! The table was given to them. We sat there and waited while seating had been provided to other patrons. We left after a few more minutes. It will be the last time we will ever go there. I'd rather drive miles away than patronize this place. As I've mentioned, we used to be regulars for dim sum. Through the many closings, we stayed with them until about 5 years ago. It seemed like they were closed permanently. Since it was closer to home, and we hadn't been back, we decided to go there for dim sum again. It was a huge mistake. The food was cold and terrible. The ladies rarely walked around with the carts. They were parked on the side. So, you had to get up and walk to the cart yourself. Additionally, the ladies in there are always fighting. If you go there to get take out, you're left waiting to either pick up or give your order. Giving them your food order doesn't necessarily mean it will be taken care of - either the kitchen will forget to cook the food or the ladies will forget to give it to them. Coming here can be a hit or miss because servers can be annoying and not tend to you most of times. Dinner time they are a bit more friendly especially if you come as a family or group of 8 or more. Before we had time to process what happened, the chair was already replaced by who-knows-which-waiter and there wasn't even an apology. It sounded like it was a free dish so we ate it. It's not uncommon to get a free dish since many restaurants serve free roasted meat dishes as appetizers. When we got our bill, we noticed we were charged for the pork! It wasn't even good pork. We questioned the waiter but he seemed clueless and just shrugged it off.
