I really want to give them a higher rating as the prices were great and some of the dishes like the fried salt and pepper baby squid and anchovies and the stir fry pork blood and leeks were really inventive but the seasoning for everything was off. The fish maw soup was bland and everyone at the table asked for salt. I guess they Dave's it for all the other dishes as everything else was way too salty. So much that we went through 8 pots of tea to cleanse our pallets. The jumbo fried shrimp with walnuts has shrimp that was large at best with pale broccoli and barley roasted candied walnuts. Kitchen needs some more work and attention to detail when it comes to seasoning.

Sometimes they have coffee - we got lucky that morning!

Mom planned her Chinese New Year Dinner at a restaurant this year. She ordered a quite a few dishes. I normally enjoy the food here, but couple of them were a little disappointing. The chefs were probably extra busy, dinner reservations were booked solid. There was a line out the door. The atmosphere is just a typical Chinese restaurant, but the service is always great. We will be back when it's not so busy.

Food: The food here is average -- not terrible but not amazing. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for many, many years, and the food quality has really gone downhill, especially after the pandemic. We recently dined here for a large family gathering and ordered 11 dishes each for our two tables. Most of the dishes were good but some were disappointing such as the pan fried flounder, lamb chops, and salt, pepper, and salt and pepper pork chops. The pan fried flounder was very small and slightly over fried. The pork chops were dry and overcooked as well. I wouldn't recommend getting these three dishes. Service: The service here is overall good. Some servers were very helpful and attentive while others weren't. They came by to clear empty dishes to make room for the new dishes being served. If there was a little bit of food left on the dish, they abruptly poured it onto someone's plate without asking if the person wanted it. They also offered to change our plates throughout the meal which is always nice. We had brought a birthday cake and some desserts for our group after the meal. We were the only ones left in the restaurant because it was later, close to closing. There also wasn't much business in the restaurant for the evening so we were one of only a handful of tables. Most of the servers were very patient while we were wrapping up our dessert, but a couple of them did seem like they were rushing us out by clearing the table while we were still standing around. Considering we were the bulk of their business for the evening, I would have expected that they were more appreciative of our business rather than making us feel like we should leave. Ambiance: This is a large restaurant with many tables and it's good for both small and large parties. Seating is comfortable and spacious. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area, but if you're willing to drive about 15-20 minutes away, there are better Cantonese restaurants in Bensonhurst.

I've been here a few times with my parents for dine-in dim sum pre-Covid era. This time, we called ahead for a pick up order on a Sunday for 12 pm. We ordered a beef/bitter melon rice, fried fish and tofu rice, chicken and salted fish fried rice, and a bunch of dim sum, which included the usual suspects. I appreciate the fact that they let you order dim sum ahead too. This way, you're not fighting at the counter with the Chinese grandmas, trying to get your order in. Everything was correct and packaged neatly. But the actual food just isn't as good anymore. The rice dishes were fine. The fried rice was packed to the brim, but it would have been nice if there was more salted fish in it, if there was any at all. It was also pretty bland. Dim sum is bland as well. The worst of the bunch was probably the honeycomb tripe. It was bland but just didn't taste great. Dim sum spots in this hood are slim pickins'. I'd come back for rice or noodle dishes but for dim sum, I would probably rather buy the frozen ones from the bakery down a few blocks and just cooking it myself.

Came here for a family gathering . The food was very good . Nice portions size and also good service. Bought a lot of seafood dishes. Fried scallops, pan fried seafood noodles. Beef pan fried noodles, chicken chow fun , chicken with broccoli.bok choy, general Tao's chicken . Overall had a wonderful time.Everyone enjoyed and had plenty leftovers to take home.

For Sheepshead Bay, this is great without traveling too far to get Cantonese style food and dimsum. I came here this past Monday - not too busy, was asked about vax cards. Inside you'll see the tables separated by plastic to social distance people. We were greeted by a waitstaff who asked us what type of tea we would like. Since it was relatively early, we ordered some simple dimsum and a plate of beef chow ho fun. The dimsum was tasty - black bean sauce chicken feet), coriander rice rolls, ChiuChow style pork & peanut dumplings (one of my mom's favs). Out of the three, that black bean really enhanced the chicken feet! For the plate of beef chow ho fun, I was not in love with it but it was a HUGE plate. It probably needed that black bean sauce for the extra kick in flavor. I requested hot sauce on the side to spice it up to my liking. Ate half and flavored it up for dinner. FYI - this tea was strong. advise to add hot water after the first pour. it gets bitter as you near the end.

I came back here again for a Sunday lunch because of a friend's invite. Arrived around 10:30 am and the place was less than 1/2 full. Mostly old men sitting, chatting and drinking coffee; not much eating going on. Ordered the usual dim sum dishes by checking off the menu. I actually forgot about the food at this place but after my first bite, all my memories came back. The dim sum dishes arrived fast but they were either bland or tasteless. Tripe was under cooked and very chewy. Fresh fish congee was luke warm and the fish was still raw; had to send it back. They only thing that was okay was the steamed ribs over rice noodles. Service was good but nothing else. Nothing has changed since the last time I came to eat. Hence, still the one star rating.

Top: Filet Fish Country Style ($15), bottom: Pork Chop Peking Style ($15) - half of the pork chops were still in the box/not shown

Great spot for all your Canto style needs! (Looks like they also have some Szechuan dishes too) I'm not very familiar with this neighborhood (we typically get our food in Sunset Park or Chinatown) but we were in the area on Friday so decided to pick up grandma's birthday dinner here. Plus, this restaurant's been featured on Send Chinatown Love, a wonderful community organization, so wanted to show some support! We ordered the following dishes, most of which are our usuals: - Half Crispy Chicken w/ Garlic in Soy Sauce ($14) - Pork Chop Peking Style ($15) - Fried Stuff Bean Curd w/ Shrimp ($13) - Filet Fish Country Style ($15) - Lobster w/ Ginger Scallion ($60 for 2 lobsters) - Silver Fish w/ Mixed Vegetables ($17) - E-Fu Noodle w/ Mushroom ($13) Everything tasted up to par. Especially loved the chicken, filet fish and silver fish dishes! Lobster was a bit on the saltier side and porkchops weren't as crispy as other restaurants, but nothing an air fryer can't fix the next day. This was plenty of food for a family of 5 - we had leftovers for days. If I lived closer, this would probably be one of our go-to spots!

I like this place. Pretty down to earth and decent dimsum or dinner spot for traditional Chinese food. We have a small dinner here and service is great. They pay more attention to big spenders ei if you order fish or lobster which is understandable. Working class like me only desire so much right? Anyway the food is delicious and well made. If you want to show off, I would pick something else. If you just want a good meal and no wait, this is the spot. Crispy pork is a must have. Crispy noodle is done to perfection. Eat well and enjoy this place. One day I would love to come back for one of those made that requires a day prebooking.

Dine-in prices are an extra $2-3 for a majority of the entrees, which is understandable because you definitely get a whole lot more eating in than ordering take out. I've done both before, and when ordering entrees, always have leftovers to take home. At home, on the other hand, two dishes are completely demolished in one sitting hehe. Higher price aside, definitely prefer here versus Season Restaurant one block away Roast meats (duck, soy sauce chicken, white chicken) are really good! The quality does vary - some days, the duck is super fatty while others it's leaner. But their ginger scallion sauce is crack and they don't charge me for extra cups woohoo Country Style Fish Fillet: one of my favorites here, and it's almost always a must order (for takeout). The fish fillets are sooo flavorful, and it's stir fried with minced pork and string beans, in this salty, peppery, garlicky sauce that's just too comforting and delicious for words. Fish is always soft and never over-cooked. Crispy Garlic Chicken: SO salty! But SO crispy! I don't normally order chicken dishes in restaurants because I love my classic soy sauce chicken, but this skin was pretty phenomenal. Much tastier than roast duck skin hehe. Breast meat was too dry though Salt and Pepper Pork Chops: soo crispy, quite salty, but just a step too deep fried because I was cringing at the grease in my mouth after about two pork chops. Juicy, but not as juicy as Jin Cun's, though the crispiness is better here, and the cut is a little fattier as well Black Pepper Short Ribs: I like this dish to be a lot more softer so it's easier to chew, but the flavors here more than made up for that, and it's super saucy We come here for dine in dim sum and take out dim sum very often and my favorite is definitely the shui mai. Juicy and not super fatty pork. Everything else is good too, just that they have a limited selection of goodies

Came here for dinner with friends, overall very pleased with the service and food! The food came out hot and very tasty, and overall ambiance/decoration is very classic Cantonese restaurant vibes. We ordered 6 dishes total for a group of 5, which was more than enough food for us to be very full and also have leftovers for the next day. Would definitely recommend to friends/family, this would be my go-to for authentic well-priced Cantonese food.

I enjoyed all the pasta dishes as it was cooked al dente but I found the Pasta Marechiara very saucy. They ended up bringing out bread so it was helpful with soaking up the sauce. The meatballs were super meaty and the sauce and cheese on top added a nice touch. The stuffed fish was alright. The fish was cooked well but it was stuffed with a lot of breadcrumbs and other seafood pieces. It was quite buttery, but had good seasoning. It gets packed here very quickly so you may have to wait for a table! I thought the bathroom was really gross sadly.

What we got: - Calamari: Had to order, since it's one of their staples. It was fine, but tbh I've had better. They're known for their sauce, but I didn't care much for it. The bread it came with was super stale and inedible. - New England Clam Chowder (bowl): This was pretty good! Would order again. - Lobster Bisque (bowl): Not as great as the clam chowder, but still good. - Baked Clams (Cherry Stones): It was alright for what it was. Fishy, but in a clam/sea way. I wouldn't care to order again. - Pasta Marechiara: Really good pasta dish!! The sauce was lovely and I enjoyed dipping bread in it. The pasta was also perfectly cooked. Would order this again! - Chicken Parm with Pasta: Just ok, the chicken was a bit overcooked imo. - Stuffed Filet w/ Zucchini Fries: Also just fine; a bit dry + not enough sauce. Zucchini Fries were delish tho!! - Meatball Parm (3): Decent size meatballs! Could've used a bit more sauce. Taste was ok, I've had better. Service was pretty slow, although they were packed. Overall, I've had better Italian food. It's just nice that this spot is a neighborhood staple. Surprised that it made the NYT 2026 Top 100 Restaurants list (#98)!
