Sautéed flat rice noodles with beef and egg
    Hayley F.

A small Cantonese restaurant that serves big portions of food for sharing. The sweet and sour pork was a little hard but tasted good. The wonton noodles were ok. Soup was Hong Kong style but the wonton skin was a little thick. The sautéed flat rice noodle with beef and egg was not too bad. Silky egg combined the beef and flat rice noodles together. Generally all the food was a little salty for me. Service was fast and great though.

Service was a hit or miss. The Vietnamese lady was very nice, but the other servers were a little rude. Food was good, the roasted pig is a must try. It had very crispy skin and tender meat. The place itself might be a bit unsanitary as I found a roach running across the place.

I hate that I have to write this review as I have enjoyed their food in the past. I order takeout this weekend and midway through eating out food we found a piece of hair in our food. Hair alone I can live with but a few bites later (what can I say we were hungry) we found a bug. Overall, I may still come back for their roast meats as I can closely inspect the food I get but this incident pretty much turned me off to this place.

The best chines BBQ in Chinatown area the duck is delicious the restaurant is very clean and the service is very very nice food are amazing ! Nice place to eat !

Wow! Hands down the best roasted pork that I have ever had! So crispy, fatty, and salty! The duck is great too!

The Chinese BBQ and noodle are average, but the portion is generous and prices are friendly.

Hole in the wall but amazing food. Service is norm you'll find across the whole china town. --Roasted Pork (5/5) - Has got to be the crunchiest I've ever had. The skin is almost like a cracklin! --Roasted Duck (4/5) - Also very flavorful but it's more on the soggy side because of the sauce drenched but still good. --Green Beans with Pork (5/5) - Very flavorful and crunch also had dried shrimps that are minced very fine in it. (For you that don't like the strong shrimp aroma) --Scrambled Egg and Shrimp (5/5) - Basic but sooo good! I love the softness and fluffy of the eggs. --Salt and Pepper Squid (3.5/5) - I've had better elsewhere but it was drenched in oil and so I couldn't tell if it was the squid that was super soft inside or just a lot of oil. I would probably pass on this next time. It also had an aftertaste I couldn't put my finger on it. I've been here twice this month and I am grateful to have found you!

Came here for the famous roast pork and was in no way disappointed - it easily lives up to the hype in my eyes. I have no idea how they get the skin so crispy while the meat is so tender and juicy...pure magic. Since we felt a little guilty about just eating tons of pork for our meal, we switched it up for a few items and ordered their beef flat noodles and crispy tofu. Everything was excellent and served family style so it was easy to try a variety of items. Their menu is huge so it should not be hard to find something to satisfy everyone in your party. I cannot wait to come back to get my pork fix again in the future!

Another spot that was highly recommended to me. Orders came out quick and all were pretty much tasty and filling. Wish I was able to try the last roasted duck hanging but someone else beat me to it.

    Juicy roasted pork

Review is only for their roasted pork belly! Had to try their famous meat. Everyone raves of it online. Pork belly 5/5 Nice crisp on skin. Good crunch but not break your jaw. I'm a fat kind of person so I love the even layer of meat and fat. It was so juicy and not overly salty.

This is authentic Cantonese food. Totally exceeded expectations. First time trying their Roast Pork, and it was the best I've ever had. We also ordered the house special chicken and spicy/salty toasted squid: highly recommend both!

The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. As for the ambiance, it's loud, it's hectic, and it's simple... maybe a stretch, but makes me feel like I'm eating at a mom and pop shop in the heart of China. This place is definitely a go to if I'm convincing a friend of Houston's great food scene! Rating: 4.5/5

No complaints here since we were starving from an 8 hour road trip. The Dan Dan Noodles...I had high expectations but sadly this dish fell short. I recommend Hu's Cooking to use a bigger bowl and more sauce because it was difficult to mix the noodles and the sauce wasn't...saucing, unfortunately. I wish there was more flavor in this dish. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. Dinner on a Saturday was packed but we got seated quickly and food arrived fast.

I knew it'd be busy since it's a Sunday and Father's Day. But there were groups and groups of people standing outside and inside. I checked in at the kiosk and apparently there were 34 people ahead of us. I was starting to think we wouldn't be seated till at least an hour or so, but surprisingly we only waited for 20 minutes. The server and employees pushing the carts were all friendly. I'd be honest though, when we were first seated I felt like there were a bunch of carts, meaning lots of selection. But after 10 minutes, it was hard to even find one person. So really, you don't got much to choose from. I think it'd have helped if there was a menu at the table, that way we can order more and see what else is there. The shrimp shao mai and crispy shrimp crab claw was top tier. Please do not leave without giving those two a try! You can skip the pan fried pork & chives dumplings. That was a letdown. I think food wise, I prefer Fung's Kitchen over Ocean Palace. This is a great place for weddings, business meetings, and milestone celebrations. I can't speak on their normal course of business, but I just came here for my aunt's 90th birthday celebration as well as a company dinner, which featured a delicious king crab prepared three ways. The service was very attentive in our private room settings and the food was good. It's really the ambiance that sets this place apart. One thing that really has always prevented me from coming here is the price. It is the most expensive in town and while there are plenty of options that aren't as good, well, there are options. And at this point, I'm sure that is the crowd they are going after. So if you are wanting to celebrate something or you are wanting to step up your dimsum game, come on over. The sweet & sour was perfect lightly battered and crispy. The hot & sour could've been a bit more sour but had a small kick to it. It was perfect for my parents, but my husband and I had to add some chili oil & soy sauce for more flavor. The quality of the food 9/10, the price was a bit on the pricey side for the portions of the dishes. The hot & sour soup was $17! It wasn't anything special about it.
