Went for Christmas lunch!! Food was very inexpensive and quality just as good if not better than Crown Seafood (our usual go to it was just too busy). Really great option- better than Golden dimsum and Fungs Kitchen imo. Very small restaurant so call ahead.

The food was better than I expected. The service was okay, very fast to get the food out, but never came back to ask how the food was or if I needed a refill on my beverage. The ambiance was very authentic, very small and quiet.

Went here for Lunar New Year! We enjoyed our meal and content with the options they had on their menu.

Ummmm well, there was a hair in my food. I ordered via third party for pick up so I was able to resolve the issue with them. Other than that, there are much better dim sum places in Houston just like the reviews said. The best thing I ate was the crab king shui mai, everything else was way too overpowering with the dough. On top of that when I went to pick up my food, it took a while for someone to even notice I was there and when my food was ready they placed it on the table instead of handing it to me....Weird behavior for an establishment that is subpar

We arrived here on a Friday after work and were seated right away. Nice clean place. You're given a sheet with all the dim sum and you just check off what your want. Price point Is a but steeper than other places. The congee with beef was perfect! The shrimp dumpling, fried crab and shrimp, short ribs in black bean sauce, yellow mung bean buns, sesame red bean balls, and Chinese broccoli were all deliscious and very flavorful. It was enough to feed 3 plus have leftovers. Aside from the slightly high price point, I would return and recommend to others to give it a try.

Oh my goodness - quite honestly the worst dim sum I've EVER had.... I've had good dim sum, also have had mediocre dim sum...but bad dim sum? This was certainly a first. My first time coming and I'm def not returning. We came in for a late lunch to a nearly empty restaurant. We ordered: -shrimp dumplings - mediocre -fried pork dumplings - TERRIBLY executed. the fried dough was SO heavy and oily. there was barely any meat inside. not even a spoonful. I'm not one to waste food but we did not finish this -chinese broccoli - ok, can't mess this up -pork dumplings - this took THIRTY minutes to come out....absolutely no apology/excuse from them. they must've given our order to another table that came after us. Get your dim sum elsewhere.

They didn't bring half of our order and we waited so long for it so we just told them to forget about it. The rations were hard. The dumplings were good. We had a few different dumpling orders and they were all good. The broccoli and oyster sauce was also good. Dining areas are clean and it's a nice place. It's popular so wait may be a bit for food.

We came to Chinatown to run some errands and ended up in this parking lot. We walked around saw this spot was busy and gave it a try. The restaurant is tucked in a weird alleyway and to your right side. The interior of the restaurant is pretty old fashioned and people and tables are packed in there like sardines. I'm sure it appeals to some people but I'm personally a bigger fan of personal space. Service was very slow; we waited at the front for 5 minutes before we got sat down. They don't have the dim sum cart here so it's order off the menu. We ordered a bunch off the menu; most of the items we ordered were below average and slightly bland and doughy. My least favorite was the fried taro balls. The BBQ pork noodles/doughy item was the best tasting. The pork ribs were alright but again, the flavor was bland. Their char Siu buns was very light on the meat and heavy on the dough. Everything else was a bit bland for me; it was below par compared to anything I've had at Fung's and I got told during lunch that HK Dimsum was better. Price wise, it wasn't cheap either by any means; $50 for a lunch for two... not impressed!

In the heart of Chinatown, Dim Sum King has authentic food with all the classic flavors that make you want to come back. It's not as crowded as some other places and is my hidden gem that I love. Have to get the pan fried noodles and pork buns!

A solid dim sum place! Food was good but not mind-blowing. I wish they had lazy Susan's at the tables as it was mildly inconvenient sharing food with a large party. There's a lot of parking available.

We love dim sum and found this place nearby. The food was nice and hot and most of it was pretty good. We liked the fried pork dumplings the most. My daughter loves crab but was not a fan of the steamed crab dumplings. The pork ribs were good but has a lot of tiny bones. The big fat noodles were a bit much for my mouth so take small bites The reason I'm giving 3 stars is for how we felt afterwards. We got sleepy and felt so tired. We had just woken up, got ready and headed here first. No reason to feel this way except for MSG or tryptophan like after thanksgiving.

So sweet, easy to peel, and they provide gloves and wet wipes! The lobster noodles were also fantastic with the noodles absorbing so much flavor. Not pictured were the Peking Pork Ribs which were phenomenal! Crispy on the outside, flavorful, sweet, and tender. I was eating that dish like candy. Throughout the meal, our plates were exchanged for new ones, which was super helpful in starting clean again. The price point at Fung's may be more expensive than other Chinese restaurants, but this is definitely an elevated dining experience with consistently high quality food and presentation!

Most of the whole up and downstairs brings ambience of joy and laughter with vibrant at the same time but can get noisy. Their steam rice roll I do not at all think they are number one in Houston at all due to the texture of the rice roll is a bit on the chewy , dense probably uses cheap flour or not enough tapioca in the batter, there are places out there I believe you can find easily elsewhere. I know for sure you are eating some mock truffles on your siu mai they are not the real stuff here as they termed it truffles. If you ever grab a Togo take out order please do me a big favor so that they would not pinch on you your hard earning money, take your time to check each individual boxes in that foam it can miss a whole meal because I got 1 big box and 1 small box full of just soy sauce and the chili sauce it occurred after one incident the last time they put Xa Xiu buns instead the hostess per " Michelle "that's the back kitchen job they put in there not mine I'm just the person to ring you up and pass you your utensils and the bags and that's it " not my problem you are responsible for your own to check yourself before leaving . So after that one time next week visited again this time gave us a whole large box size of just soy sauce and chili oil no lava buns inside at all my daughter cried dad how come you forgot my favorite sweet buns, Sorry my daughter we have people that has some very unethical actions that cares less of the service they provide just because they thought their food is already superb but has forgotten the service is not at all we deserve. I gave the receipt hilited in yellow bright but looks like they checked it off and slip those buns we paid for in their lunch box. We don't need to return here ever spending my $56 to $70 somewhere that will give you better service than these arrogant running managers.

We came with a group of 18 people, and the bill ended up being around $972. Unfortunately, most of the dishes were more impressive visually than flavor-wise. The colorful green fried rice looked unique, but honestly just tasted like regular fried rice. The green beans were overcooked, so they lost the crunch and sweetness that usually make that dish enjoyable. The green curry was extremely spicy, but outside of the heat, it wasn't very memorable. The shaking beef dish looked amazing presentation-wise, but the sauce was too sweet for a savory dish, and the crispy rice pairing just didn't work well for me. I initially thought the duck dish was Peking duck, but it was actually the Jasmine Tea Smoked Duck. Even so, everyone at my table agreed we still preferred the traditional Peking duck style. The duck itself lacked flavor for us, and the skin was soft instead of having the crisp texture we were hoping for. The only dishes I genuinely enjoyed were the soup dumplings, cucumber salad, and fried dumplings. Most of the other dishes at the table were barely touched. If you're looking for colorful, aesthetically pleasing food and great presentation, you may enjoy this place. But if flavor is your main priority, this spot just wasn't for me personally.

Sadly, it seems like those days are long gone as the latter is on a downhill slope. Has ownership changed? (#1) I'm not sure, but so much else has. There's no tea offered, but bottled water. Service and the kitchen staff is a mess where it's most evident during their busiest hours. At one point, Cantonese was spoken but it also seems that's no longer the case. Previously the food was passable, but now it's near abysmal. Siu mai was hearty, but fairly bland. The same applies to their spare ribs (排骨), beef balls (牛肉球), and steamed glutinous rice in leaf (糯米雞). I felt their custard buns (奶黃包), fried stuffed crab claw (釀蟹鉗), fried glutinous dumpling (鹹水角) and the turnip cake (蘿蔔糕) were dried out. While the shrimp dumplings (蝦餃) and rice rolls (腸粉) mostly passed the test, it needed lots of soy sauce + condiments to be worth it. The only winner was their beef chow fun (乾炒牛河), where the beef and ho fun noodles were tender, while also being adequately greasy. The bonus bits of fried egg within were a nice surprise. While the prices range from $3.75-$9.70, a majority of it will average out to be $5-6 a dish. This isn't a terrible deal per se, especially during these times. However, it is a big price to pay for service issues and sub-par quality dim sum. While I'm hopeful that they'll rebound and I hope the Joy returns, but I don't think I will. __________ (#1) FZ / FJ peeps, where ya at?
