I just wish I could come into an establishment other than Chick-fil-A to receive some good hospitality. I was treated very poorly by the cashier ( Janai C ) while ordering. Her attitude towards me from the time I walked in was very distasteful. The fries weren't even warm and the place wasn't busy at all, the wings were good, but I probably won't be back because of the way I was treated. The least you can do is have respect for the customers. I mean we are the sole reason for keeping the establishment up and running. Dine in customer 11/21/2017 The Wing Quater employees require extensive customer service and etiquette training. PERIOD!!! Management should be fired immediately!! 1) Several employees were observed tracing from the kitchen to the floor in full uniform, apron included, while EATING. Plastic utensils and bowl in hand behaving like they were at a backyard barbeque! 2) One of the persons in the kitchen was chewing on a straw while cooking and dropping the fried foods. 3) The girl at the register was also eating while we, paying customers, waited for our food. 4) Another employee, a young girl, was on the patio yelling and flipping someone off in the parking lot. 5) Our food was served in styrofoam containers despite the fact that we were dine in customers. They should change the name to wing quarters to-go since the food is prepared TO GO! The gumbo is advertised online in dinnerware. Bowl and plate. NAH!! I invited friends to join me in trying out this spot, and I was embarassed for making that suggestion. Last but NOT LEAST) The company decided to have a pot luck for their employees on the patio during business hours. Bad decision... I don't think I've heard as much profanity as I did at this place since I was in high school. And a few of them stated more than once. F*CK THEM I'M OFF THE CLOCK! A great little spot with tasty food and pleasant, fast service. I will be returning. I ordered the Breaux bridge special and a fully loaded gumbo. The cashiers were very polite and professional. In Houston's famous Third Ward, the restaurant is my go-to spot; it is located off Old Spanish Trail (OST) in a newly constructed restaurant plaza and is surrounded by heavy-hitting black restaurants and eateries like Ray's BBQ Shack and Sugar Rush. I've been here several times because the food is addictive. Normally, I get the "Canal Street Special." This meal, named after the popular street in New Orleans, includes 10 fried shrimps that are drenched in a homemade sweet and sour sauce, a side of seasoned fries (or dirty rice), and a cornbread muffin. Lying on top of the fries, the golden brown fried shrimp is crispy but is not fried too hard. Also, the fries are seasoned with Cajun spices and are hot and fresh. Next, the cornbread muffin is sweet and soft and adds versatility to the meal, which costs about $14.75. Lastly, if you're feeling a little extra, then get a daiquiri! Wing Quarter's daiquiris, which are $7.00, are out of this world. They have 3 flavors: Hypnotic, Gator Rita, and New Orleans Hurricane. This review is for my last two trips to Wing Quarter. A few weeks ago I attempted to make a phone order. I stayed on hold for 10 minutes then hung up and tried again. Was left on hold for another ten minutes and decided to just make the 15 minute drive while still on hold. By the time I made it to the restaurant I was still on hold, hung up and placed my order in person. I observed the employees hanging out in the kitchen and talking while I waited over 25 minutes for my food, and was several minutes down the street when I realized they left out one of my menu items. I called them and informed them I was coming back for it, but I still had to wait several minutes when I returned for them to prepare it. Didn't receive an apology or anything. I had also ordered Cajun wings and they were TASTELESS, literally tasted like they were coated in plain fried flour. Shrimp had nearly no batter on it. Went back today with my husband. While my husband was speaking to place our order a female worker standing next to the cashier interrupted him and asked "Is that your real voice, it's so deep,"... not sure what this has to do with taking our order or preparing our food. While I was speaking to add my order, the cashier and the interrupting employee were discussing and coordinating their Subway orders. After several interruptions and having to repeat myself multiple times, we were finally able to complete our order and then had to wait over 20 minutes for just wings, fries, and boudin balls, since they were "out of shrimp" which I originally tried to order. I had the catfish... it was nicely seasoned and neatly laid out the seasoned fries were good the fish was not fired hard enough for me, the price was fair for the amount of food the customer service was great they called as soon as my order was ready ( order online for my office) and picked up the order .. I never thought I would have to write a BAD review for my favorite place. I've been going here since it opened. November 18 I experienced the WORST service ever. I waited and 1 and 30 mins for my food to be given to me just to find out it was sitting right in front of me the whole time. First I tried to call in my order I was put on hold for and hour so I decided to go to the place because it's right by UH and I live at gateway. So I get there I'm thinking it's packed and no it's not that packed so I'm like whatever I order my food but I did get my receipt because I've been there so much I know the wait time. I come back in and I asked was my food out I was ignored by a do called manager I'm not sure if she is new of what then I asked again is and order for ready my name is christy I just ordered she Rudy says no I wait a whole hour until I see people just coming get their food and then I'm told it's right their I'm like I asked the lady she gets hype with me a switches my words and tells me I can stop complaining and get my money back I'm like no re do my order they literally warmed my wing up and just gave them back. Tbh I LOVED THIS PLACE SO MUCH because the owner is cool my org does stuff there but the new workers are rude and unprofessional. My family and I visited the restaurant for the first time yesterday (Saturday about 7:30p). Overall, we had a nice experience, and we enjoyed the food. The young lady at the counter took her time in answering questions and taking the order. We had wings, bone-in and boneless, plus fried catfish. All was hot and tasty. Try the big easy sweet heat flavor; my nephew likes spicy lemon pepper. There's an advertisement about specials on Tuesdays. We had a mix up with my order, but all was fixed and turned out well. Me and my family, along with friends, went here on Saturday around 6pm. This was my first time here, but my Cousin had the patio set up for my birthday and it was AWESOME! The people there were attentive to our needs and it was a bunch of us. They did get packed but I can see why...THE FOOD IS AWESOME! If you like a little kick in your food then this is the place. I ordered spicy lemon pepper and they were... lemon pepper. The order came with red beans and rice... NO FLAVOR AT ALL! I watched the guys warm up a full pan of the red beans and rice and pour it into the warming table. It came with a link which was so damn greasy. I ordered my food at 1:14PM and didn't receive it until 1:41PM. Well...I stopped by this new wing place, while my clothes (arms/wings)were rained out from head to toe. I ordered my my food Cajun Chicken and dirty rice. I went home to dry my clothes and return to taste these pretty good chicken strips. Now, I did miss the greasy fatty taste, but maybe it tasted healthier for some battered chicken after it sat awhile. The dirty rice had a good seasoned boudin flavor. It was GOOD! The portion size wasn't too bad either. Now, since it is a wings place, I will get those next time. I ordered a soda too. The restaurant was really full and the staff was nice. When another cashier was needed, one was sent up to the front. I ate some bites there due to hunger and the rest with my "feet up at home." I missed getting food on a food truck at the festival, where I got rained out and soaking wet, but it wasn't going to stop me from soaring into the Wing's Quarter. I love to support my community business. The young lady order taker attitude was NASTY!!!!! No patience, was stressed out due to all the people in there trying to place and pick up an order. This is not a place I will be going back to. They give you a number but no receipt. How are you to know your number? You wait about 40 to 45 minutes to get a bowl of gumbo and a smaller bowl of etouffee with boudain balls. The balls are super greasy. In fact that is all you taste. They are very over priced. This was my first time coming and I won't be going back I got the Canal Street special. They got my order wrong then when I asked about the missing items I was told they are out of cornbread. I wanted the cornbread that's why I paid more to have that on the side. The girl that took my order had a very nonchalant attitude and just said we out of cornbread and handed me the food. I asked if there were biscuits or something to give me and she did no. The shrimp was good however the fries were a bit undercooked and the red beans and rice was not good to the point that I didn't finish it. Not impress and won't return. Amazing wings and food is delicious...This is the BIGGEST downfall of this business...cashiers sometimes are too busy flirting and are very nonchalant about customers waiting in line. I've called numerous amount of times and most of the time they respond with a "Hello" like their answering their own personal cellphone. I waited 40 minutes for my wing quarter special. I Went to the front counter to inquire about my meal and was told the ticket had been lost and my food had been sitting there for the past 15 minutes. They were very apologetic about it and said they would make me another meal. I politely declined because at this point I had to get back to work and could not wait any longer.
