My friend and I happened upon this place while looking for wings close to my new house. We walked in and ordered and had our wings, literally within 5 minutes. I'm assuming we caught them as they had already been frying up wings (because obviously it takes longer to get that together) but the cashier was very pleasant and joked around with us. This place has been one of my go-to places for a long time. I order from there sometimes twice a week. There has never been a problem until today, and my review is NOT as much about the order, as the way it was handled by this restaurant. Today, I ordered the chicken tenders with the liquid gold dipping sauce, I love them. I received it minus the dipping sauce. I contacted GrubHub, and explained the situation. The restaurant offered to refund the dipping sauce, oh gee, wow. My meal was not nearly as good as it would have been with the sauce, but they didn't care at all. I went to their website, to see if I could find an e-mail address(since I had to go to work and couldn't make personal calls), I came across what they call their GUEST PROMISE. It says "We promise your meal will be right, if not, we will replace it with no questions asked". I guess if your meal is delivered, they don't give a crap, because they sure didn't offer to replace mine!!! I guess I totally misjudged this place, I thought they had more integrity then this, and valued their loyal customers, but I guess not!!! This review is strictly for customer service. I placed an order through Uber eats tonight. I got a call from wing zone that they were out of fried pickles so I asked what other options they had. The person on the other end of the line was extremely rude and when I decided on the pretzel sticks to take the place of pickles I asked if there was cheese dipping sauce. She said no, it comes with mustard. I said can I get marinara for it? She answered "uhh sure" (sounding extremely annoyed and like I was bothering HER even though they were the ones calling me about not having the food stocked that they have on their menu.) when my Order got here, of course there was no marinara sauce. I think this place is great for delivery - it's my favorite "chain" wing place (vs. Wing Stop, Wings Over ____, BW3, etc.) mostly due to the flavors - great depth of selection and varieties offered as well as ability to mix and match. I usually go "boneless" (nuggets) here and they're nice and crispy and juicy and well breaded. Can't speak much to the normal, actual wings. Had the fries once - they're good too - thick wedges. I am a frequent costumer of wing zone (probably one of 3 places we consistently order from - so maybe have ordered 30+ times). This past time, the wings (20 tenders) were absolutely inedible - essentially burned tenders where the batter was almost black. The chicken also tasted completely abnormal and overly dry and chewy. Again, I know the normal quality of this place and this order was an extreme outlier. When I called the location to let them know and ask whether there was something happening in their kitchen, I was SHOCKED at the response. No offer of how they can make it right, nothing. The only response I got was "oh, sorry." This is one of my go-to places so I almost feel bad posting a bad review but the response from management was outrageous and not what I would expect whatsoever. Perhaps there is new management or new kitchen equipment/staff but I couldn't believe someone would cook those tenders, then pack them expecting people to eat them, then offer no replacement when a frequent consumers calls about the obvious quality issue. Wow- first time ordering and I couldn't believe how fast it was. My doorbell rang and I was so confused! It took less than 20 mins to get there. I ordered the boneless Thai chili wings and they were really good. Got a side of fries and ranch. Wasn't thrilled with the ranch, but that's my only issue. I meant to get half Buffalo half Thai, but I guess I messed that up when I double checked my order. So pay attention to your final check out. I don't know why I haven't ordered from here before?! I started getting food from this place on DoorDash but realized it's like a five minute walk so I've been getting it more often. I have gotten the same thing every time, the barbecue burger. Your standard bacon and bbq fare, nothing special. But the blackened voo doo fries (potato wedges) are really good, and the funnel cake fries are addictive. I only have two negatives to take away. The pricing is a tad high. Seriously, a 2 liter of soda is four bucks. Not outrageous but definitely a mark up. The staff isn't the friendliest, but this honestly doesn't matter to me all that much. Here's the problem. I have ordered from this location on several occasions, but they have a couple of inconvenient glitches that make ordering "not so easy". 1. I downloaded their app. I have tried ordering online. I complete filling out what I would like to order, and each time it says that I am outside their delivery zone. The problem with this is that they actually DO deliver to me. So I have to call and order everytime I need to place an order. 2. It's not my problem that you did not update your website. When I have a brochure, and the website says that you offer a "Buddy pack" deal for $18.99, and then your cashier tells me that "I must have an old menu" or "We updated prices a month ago. I don't know why they didn't update the website.", it is a little frustrating. Customer services wise, the prices advertised should be the prices that are honored. Granted it is only a dollar, but it is the principle. The not being able to order online is the most ANNOYING problem, however. In regards to product, I always get what I expect. Delivery times are usually pretty long, but I take that into consideration when ordering. If the WingStop that was closer to me delivered, or Pizza Hut had better wings, I would certainly never order from WingZone again. read more

Wing Zone does decent wings, though certainly not the best ever. The range of 25 flavors is a little deceiving since most of them are variations of about 5-6 different sauces (i.e. there is not a whole world of difference between teriyaki, honey teriyaki, hot honey teriyaki, and nuclear honey terikayi). Still, the prices are pretty reasonable (they have a 2 for $12 deal where you can get two orders of 10 wings each in a different flavor), delivery is quick. the quality of the wings is not bad - most are pretty big and meaty - and some of the flavors are pretty tasty. My personal fave is the lemon pepper garlic. You definitely won't find any dry rubs here... they cook the wings first and then DRENCH them in your sauce of choice (I like em that way) but if you don't love your wings dripping and messy, ask them to go light on the sauce or leave it on the side. They did mess up my order last night - sending me 10 wings and 10 fried shrimp instead of all wings - but they had a second delivery guy back at my door in under twenty minutes with another 20 wings for me (plus I kept the free shrimp). read more

There are alot of wing spots throughout the country. Some are better than others. I wouldn't go so far as to say that Wing Zone falls in that category; however, they do have a plethora of BBQ sauces. I like garlic, spicy honey bbq & the nuke sauces. I used to order here alot when I was in school, and had an apt. in the area. They sufficed for what they were - a quick fix of protein and starch (potato wedges). I guess the celery stalks could be passed off as a veg for a well-balanced meal... maybe not. I just wish the wings could be cooked/marinated in the sauces. That is the only reason I've deducted two stars. On that note, I started buying my own wings, cayenne & red pepper flakes, honey, etc. so I could eat them the way I wanted. The customer service was superb (I don't know if Wally is still there, but he was the coolest). If you're around the Mt.Vernon/Glebe area, definitely give them a shot. read more

First time trying this place. We ordered 5 original wings, 5 boneless wings, 10 shrimp, mac & cheese wedges, coleslaw and pickle chips. They offer a wide variety of sauces for the wings and shrimp. We opted for the Buffalo Bliss and Honey Q for the wings and the Lemon Zinger for the shrimp. We placed the order at 5:15 pm on a Saturday night and we were told about 45 minutes.Our order arrived five minutes early. Not sure why they staple the delivery bags shut because my thumb was impaled by a staple - not the best way to start a meal. When I opened the bag, the Buffalo Bliss sauce had leaked all over the bottom of the bag. Our wings were delectable but the shrimp was amazing - especially when dipped into the coleslaw. Also amazing were the mac & cheese wedges. However, the pickle chips were awful. My girl ate one and we tossed the remainder into the trash. She commented they should not be sweet pickle chips - they should've been dill chips. Also, the lemon zinger dipping sauce was putrid. All in all, most of the meal was delicious, but use caution with some items. We'll try a burger and/or a sandwich next time. read more

For watching football on a Sunday - these wings aren't bad, they aren't the best either. They have boneless wings (I guess you would call them chicken nuggets) that are good. I like this variation better than picking the meat off the bone and I think you get more food that way. They are pre-made and then soaked in sauce. Oh, the sauce variations are sort of deceptive (hot honey BBQ and there is honey BBQ for instance). The flavors are good though, just there is really half a dozen sauces (and then the varying degrees of "hot"). Some advice for ordering on Sunday - order early and make sure you clearly get your order placed. They get really busy and can screw up a larger wing order. read more

Executive Summary: I've definitely tasted better wings, but I'm not sure where to find them locally from a place that can also deliver, plus also offers such a variety of flavors. So for those wing cravings when you're living in the Arlandria area, Wing Zone it is! I haven't eaten wings in a very long time, and not surprisingly I had a craving on the day of the Super Bowl. Calling at about 4:30pm I reached a busy signal a few times but refused to give up! Eventually I reached someone. After a few tries she got my phone number and address correctly and I was able to place my order for 20 wings in 2 flavors, as well as a regular order of cheese fries. Delivery took about 30-45 minutes which is completely reasonable any day of the week, and especially on the day of the Super Bowl. The flavors I enjoyed: Spicy BBQ and Cajun. Both notched a 3 out of 5 on the Wing Zone heat index and I'd say that's accurate. And both were mighty tasty. The wings themselves were up and down. Some were tender and juicy, while others in the same batch were dry and not so fun to eat. The cheese fries were great. Thick cut fries that weren't too mushy, fried with some kind of seasoning and covered in cheese. Cheese fries delivered don't normally travel well, but these most certainly did. read more

We decided to circumvent that and pick up our order. Used the button via yelp to place the order. Turns out it takes you to EatStreet to place the order. Rec'd an email confirmation that order was placed and sent the husband out to pick up dinner. Upon arriving 25 minutes later, not only was order not ready, but they couldn't even find the order. Turns out the restaurant is only capable of receiving orders placed using EastStreet via fax. But their fax machine is broken! WHAT? That's absurdly inefficient with today's technology. If nothing else, THERES AN APP FOR THAT! Restaurant wanted us to pay AGAIN for the order. Um, NO. Did get the food (without paying again). And it was good. But I'd never depend on Wing Street for food or EatStreet for delivery of food for business purposes or a party. read more

Unlike bww and places like it, wing zone gives you big wings (sometimes even more than the number you ordered), and they always have more than enough sauce which is AWESOME. When I get a wing craving I place an order online and by the time I drive from Arlington to pick them up, they are ready. Cluck U is similar in business model but with superior wings. We had the habanero, honey mustard, and blue buffalo wings. The blue buffalo is a mix of buffalo sauce with blue cheese on them, and this was the best wing we had. The habenero wings were not very hot for it being their hottest wing... Disappointed. Friendly staff, but located in a less than savory area. For a first time visitor, this is a take out only restaurant. There are no seats in the location. Food was Triffling! I don't even want to go into a whole rant about it. I ordered it from post mates. My husband ordered wings (garlic Parmesan, lemon pepper) the lemon pepper had so much stuff going on he damn near choked. The garlic Parmesan tasted/ looked like buffalo, and it wasn't even good. It wasn't even tossed in the sauce, it was pouring on top. He instantly lost his appetite and threw the whole thing away. Plus the wings were old, I would know old wings because they be all stiff and hard in the inside line it's been sitting. I ordered the shrimp and it looked like it was bitten off before they deep fried it. When I tell you, I opened up everything single breading of the shrimp and I could only get 1 shrimp out of it. The garlic parmesan was really good and saucy, although I don't know if I could eat 20 of them, 7 was the perfect amount. I was expecting a drier wing with crusted parmesan like Quaker Steak and Lube, but it's very saucy and quite good. The Thai chili was delicious, it was sweet with delicate Thai undertones. The boyfriend was super happy. These aren't huge and juicy wings (so I understand the 3 to 4 star rating), but for a bunch of wings that have more than 2 flavors to choose from, I'm quite pleased. I'm excited to try the Rajin' Cajun, and the Buffalo Bleu, and the Hot Honey Teriyaki. The fried mushrooms (which I normally love and order when I see it), they had a funny taste to me, like blue cheese or something. I can't explain it. Boyfriend thought they tasted fine, but I tasted it with every single one I ate. Just FYI. The only thing that sucks is that it's kind of in a sketchy neighborhood after dark and that you can't turn left out of the parking lot (uber annoying for me). Terrible. Incompetent. This evening I ordered a garden salad with chicken tenders and a burger with fries to be delivered. The food arrived promptly, HOWEVER, my garden salad with chicken tenders was doused with the flaming hot sauce when my order was distinctly for honey mustard dressing and TAME sauce for the chicken. Immediately I called the store and advised the woman whom I spoke with that either this was some sick joke (if I requested 'tame' sauce it is because flaming spicy sauce does not agree with me) or if the kitchen staff was incompetent. While the woman was apologetic, it was a waste of my money and a complete loss of appetite, as well as a waste of time for the delivery driver that came all the way to delivery the terrible food.
