Around 10:30, a waitress came out and said they're not taking anyone else because their kitchen was backed up and were about to close. It wasn't even upon closing time. This is my second time coming and the same thing happened. If there was negative zero rating, I would. At this point they should know when to stop putting people on their waitlist. For the past 2 years, I've always passed this place up, thinking the worst after hearing/reading reviews saying their food ain't much to talk about. Talking about how Wingstop/BWW is much better and whatnot. I put all of those opinions to the side when a coworker took me out to lunch one day after a long undeserving shift. Wow, I thought when I first walked in, this restaurant is pretty big. Nice and empty too just how I like it (Sunday afternoon). Service was very friendly; always nice to have someone who knows how to talk to people and can crack a few jokes to make me smile. $4 Mimosas on Sundays which really hit the spot. Definitely a deal you cannot pass up on. I had 10 traditional wings with buffalo sauce and some dry Cajun seasoning. Buffalo was superior to Cajun in this case. The buffalo sauce was just too rich and a bit buttery too which made the wings itself taste all the more better. Cajun was good although I wasn't able to taste much of the seasoning. Fries are also amazing. Wings and Rings seems like an awesome place to catch some sports. I can imagine it gets busy on certain nights with big games, but with the amount of people the restaurant can hold, it shouldn't be a problem to find a place to sit and chill. This place is awesome. I coordinated a group lunch here for my student-organization that was in town, and the owner (Justin) did a fantastic job in accommodating our group of 50 people. Whether it was his communication in the weeks beforehand or the fact that he coned off a spot along the street for our bus to park, Justin was 100% class. Not to mention, the food was amazing and very reasonably priced. While I'm not from the Chicago area to go here enough, I would still strongly encourage anyone with either a large group or a small one to consider Buffalo Wings & Rings! It was very bad service over the phone. I called and asked what time the kitchen closed on a Saturday. I called at 12:30am and they close at 2am and she rudely answer "now!" and then hung up automatically. So, you've heard that you should base an establishment off the condition of the bathroom, if that's the case...failed. I specifically told the manager that there was a leak in the bathroom, she probably knew all along, but I took her to the leak and said someone is going to fall and get hurt. You should have a bucket or something to catch the water. She said ok, I'll get in it. Went to eat my wings, which BTW they brought the wrong ones out; cans drink my beers. My review is not based on their food. This location was affliated with a Wingfest Give Away and I was so excited to see they were going to be giving away a free set of tickets although the page on Facebook didn't give much detail I was still there almost an hour before the event was set to start to ensure I was not late. Now here is where it gets wonky(crazy) the ladies upfront nice as can be has no idea what I'm talking about which was odd but one of them went back and spoke to the manager and he tells her I have to sit down at a table. I ask to speak to him myself and he let's me know it starts at 6 and to have a seat no problem. I'm not told its for paying customers only at first otherwise I would have shown him the event page. I couldn't sit in the bar seats so they put in a booth. The waitress who had that table was clearly and utterly pissed I only ordered a soda. I hear the staff laughing about the situation and a few minutes later I am asked to move from her booth. The manager was going to sit me at the bar style chairs again I said no and asked to sit at the table upfront and he agreed. He spoke to me for a minute telling me they were going to be doing the set up soon for the samples. I patiently wait and 6 pm hits No Wingfest people or anyone informing me of what is happening. Now its like 6:10 I speak to another manager and he says the Give Away is only for cuatomers who buy food and drink. I inform him and show him that is not written anywhere on the Facebook event page and he just shrugs his shoulders say oh and tells me I can sit at the front door. I let him know I'm cool where I am at unless he needs it for a paying customer. I sit for almost 25 more minutes. The mascot chicken comes through the door about 6:36 pm and this event was suppose to start at 6pm and end at 7pm. A young lady handed him the tickets and off he went into the resturant right past me(which would not have been a problem if I had known the rules of this event). These customers didn't even know about the Give Away if it was suppose to be a surprise- Why make an event page on Facebook? He was taking photos with customers near the back and I left around 6:40pm. I wasted my time with travel as well as trying to unravel the misrepresentation of this event on the Facebook event page. I am not only frustrasted but disappointed because I went there with excitement and hope. This place used to have good service, good wings, and hot fries. We went the other day and none of this was true. The wings were still decent, but it took about 20 minutes just to get the server to take our food order. When the food and fries came out, the fries were on the cold side. We even ordered a side basket of fries for the wings and they were cold. There were people waiting a long time to sit and there were plenty of open tables that hadn't been cleared. Me and my fiancé went on a Monday night and waited 2 hours for appetizers. What's going on in the kitchen on a Monday night? Our waitress disappeared for 45 min, and we had no updates on why our food was taking so long. Me and my fiancé get up very early for work and waiting 2 hours for some mozzarella sticks is not an ideal dining experience. Also, the staff is very rude. I visited this location many years ago but recently have been there twice this month! Both times our visit have been great. One was for St. Patty's Day. As you can imagine they were busy but we were surprisingly seated right away. Our server Tommy was amazing! He worked his but-off! We had a group of 7 and were taken care of perfectly. Our food was delicious, starters came out quickly, drinks replenished right away, and order was all correct. I felt they handled the rush perfectly. My second visit was 03/23 before the hawks game. Our server again was great. I don't remember her name but she was attentive, prompt and again food came out right away and correctly. I was back home visiting and heard about this place so I decided to go before leaving. They were completely understaffed. There had to be only one waitress there. All of the tables were dirty, we kind of had to get in where we fit in. The hostess helped out..... with one table while all of the other tables sat waiting on this one waitress. After waiting 25 min for the waitress to greet us and take our drink orders, It took a good 20 min just to get our drinks. We finally received our food and the onion rings were as hard as a brick! When the waitress came back to our table to check on us she already knew there was an issue with the onion rings, she asked about them before we could say anything. If that was the case, why even bring them to our table. The wings however, were delicious with just the right amount of sauce. Why, why? Why is this place here? I can't believe how much this stretch of Halsted has changed in only the couple of years I've been gone. Lots of TVs and just pretty sterile in here. No character and probably opened up the "instant sports bar in a box" when designing it. I miss Puffer's very much and while I like Mitchell's, Puffer's just had that "it" factor. I was not impressed with the food. The burger was small and came with chips. $2.00 extra if you wanted fries. That would've added up to a burger over 10 bucks that was thoroughly dry and mediocre; plus it didn't even fill me up. That's a big negatory for me right there. And $5 for small boneless wings? Wow, just wow. The drinks are also more expensive than i thought. Come on buddy! That is quite pricey for Bridgeport. Walk two blocks over to Mitchell's for dirt-cheap drinks. I will say the bar was quite clean and had karaoke the night we were there. Due to only a few people signing up to sing, the host sang for most of the time. I don't think he minded, I'm sure he actually preferred it. He had a comforting voice, almost enough to earn another star, but not quite. Unsolicited tip: Grab a couple of $5 pizzas from the Little Caesar's on 31st and Halsted and eat them at Mitchell's. That would be a better night. Ok, despite their newness, they REALLY need to get their act together. Being that I drive by here all the time, due to my summer part-time job, I wanted it to work out. I really did. I even started out by looking past a few things, but I can't bear to give them a second chance. My friend and I stopped by here after waiting in the rain at a Sox, and then the game got finally rained out. We were starving, and this place is literally down the street from the park. We were promptly seated in the bar area. Obviously, the place was packed since an over flow of Sox fans who were let down were here, and there was a wide variety of College football games going on. We were sat, only to wait about 10 minutes before a waitress even acknowledged us. Placed orders for drinks, got our drinks, and then waited another 10 minutes for our order to be placed. It is very obvious that this restaurant is NOT prepared to handle a large crowd of this caliber. I ordered onion rings, mild buffalo wings, and the friend ordered the cheeseburger, and sweet BBQ wings. We waited another 15 minutes for our onion rings. Onion rings were saturated in grease (I know their fried, and expected them to be greasy, but this was DRIPPING) so much so that there was enough grease to swirl around in the bottom of the basket. They tasted good, however there were a few burnt (yes, seriously burnt) onion rings in the basket. Fast forward to 10 minutes later. We were brought out the wrong order, and then the waitress questioned our order again. She checked her book, then realized we were right. Then about 5 minutes later she brought out the right order. Just to inform you, if you order mild buffalo sauce, you get wings drenched in butter. Yes. Seriously. The manager delivered the new order, however, when I questioned him about my order, he was then almost confrontational, got the menu and showed me that I was wrong. I told him that I was confused because if I ordered buffalo sauce on wings, I expected buffalo sauce, not butter. Everything was hot per se but was mediocre at best. Our overall experience lasted over an hour, and I was very disappointed. If you question the validity of this review, please note that this is the most negative review that I've written in three years. Last night's trip to Buffalo Wings & Rings was bad enough to make me join Yelp so I could share the experience with the whole world. Admittedly, I am not much of a sports bar person, but I was excited to have a place nearby where my boyfriend and I could have a drink and a bite while watching the White Sox. I don't care that the food is gross and overpriced--$1 per wing!?--because that's the type of stuff you expect to be served in a place like that. What really got me mad was our inexcusably poor customer service experience. The short version of the story is that there was a miscommunication with our beleaguered waitress about a drink special that resulted in an extremely unpleasant confrontation with the manager on duty. After being informed by our waitress that there was an issue with our check, the manager took at least 20 minutes to address it with us. All the while, we were left tensely waiting, unsure if we should drink the drinks (as opposed to keeping them to send back) and consequently unable to enjoy the game or our food. When the manager did eventually come over, after we asked the waitress where he was, he took a very confrontational attitude, leaning over the table in what felt like an effort to bully and intimidate us. He behaved more like a guy out about to start a bar fight than the manager of a "family friendly" establishment. He made absolutely no effort to apologize for the misunderstanding or to improve our experience. Miscommunications happen, especially in the restaurant industry, and it's the manager's job to mediate between the waitstaff and the customer to ensure a pleasant trip for the guest while keeping the restaurant's best interests in mind. And here's the thing: we live down the street and probably would have spent a significant amount of money there over the course of the baseball season. All of that revenue, in addition to sales to our friends and neighbors who we will undoubtably warn away, is lost to them because that guy was such a jerk. Standard fare for a wings place. What I really love about them is the bistro sauce they serve with their onion rings -- it is DELICIOUS. They have fairly good deals and everything is reasonably priced. If you join their rewards club, you occasionally get some $5 coupons. It's not as good as other rewards clubs, but it's still worth it. My husband and I usually order delivery, and it's packed well and always arrives on time. The one time we dined in, it wasn't during a sports event, so we were seated right away and the servers were attentive without crossing the line to being annoying. I had a burger, which was pretty good, even if that wasn't what they're known for. For game days, they offer a shuttle to the White Sox stadium, which is a nice perk if you want to grab food and drinks before the game. Basically, it has standard, good food. Word of caution, one extra star for being there. Not to many places on this stretch of Halsted. This is a really weak A-OK. Nothing remarkable going on here food wise. I ordered the blue cheese burger and there was no blue cheese, I also ordered it medium rare and it came out well done. When I inquired the waitress told me she wrote it up as medium rare and that they usually will do it. I told her, I wish she would have informed me if it was questionable that I'd pick something else. Then I pointed out that there was no blue cheese on it. The original order took a long time to arrive so I was worried that my husband would be done with his food. At least they did a great job with the re-order and it was dropped off quickly. Now for what they call blue cheese, as another review on here says it's on the side. To elaborate it comes in a little cup, to be honest I thought it was blue cheese dressing. If you are a serious cheese lover, skip the cheese because you'll be disappointed. Bottom line, I'll come back here to grab a beer and some apps. As a sports bar I don't find it disappointing. Wow! I can't say I've ever had bad wings in my life, but this place somehow managed to make this happen. The meat itself is "okay", but their sauce is atrocious. First of all, the whole place smells of vinegar as you walk in, and you quickly discover that the sauce is the culprit. The sauces are absolutely flavorless, and at "medium" contain exactly zero heat. The prices are INSANE. They even charge you for a tiny little container of Blue Cheese. This place is trying to be some kind of a Buffalo Wings knockoff, and it fails miserably. For good wings, make a trip over to Wing Stop. For half the price, you'll get twice the food, and 10x the flavor. Or any local bar for that matter - they usually do a much better job of making wings. They got my blue cheese this time :) I felt ripped off when the appetizer plate got me... $12 for three choices and it's a small platter of them. :( There's quite a bit of hidden rules here. Think about updating the menu so patrons won't have to flip around so much. For example, sides of wedges for $3.50... I didn't know there's an option for baskets and when there was there's no mention of the price. Come for the game day valet and stay because you would feel guilty if you didn't buy anything. There are only a few thing I like about this place: game day valet and shuttle service, chicken egg rolls (which are just from a distributer), and the tap water. Mainly the only reason I'm giving it three stars is because of the great shuttle service. Overall I think the food, beer, and service aren't good at all. I've been going here for because of Sox games for two seasons and have only eaten their wings and rings once. The beer available there is subpar and usually poured horribly. The service is comprised of individuals that are forgetful and unobservant. Multiple times my plate has been quickly taken away when I'm clearly not finished. Hmm this place is okay. The wings are good but I don't like the sauce that much. I ask is the medium buffalo wings are spicy and the waiter said not at all. When it came it was so spicy that I only ate 2 piece out if 10. Also when I was ordering I said I want it with bones and it came boneless and the waiter was like u hav to say traditional. Great place for drinks and food. Highly recommend you stop before or after a Sox game. They sometimes have a shuttle to the park.

It is difficult to recommend this place beyond the drink specials. We got a good variety of wings as they were on special at 10 cents a piece. They seemed to be taken from anorexic birds. Very short on the goods and the sauces were mediocre at best. The lady got a salad to go with the wings and it was something you might find at a Denny's or something. We got something else but it was so underwhelming I don't even remember what it was. The waitstaff was sort of indifferent on a whole and definitely didn't add anything to the experience. The do have a lot of T.V.'s and I appreciate it is on the Southside but do all 20 T.V.'s have to have the Sox game on? They are in a pennant race, it might be nice to see the competition's games too. The music was terrible too, it was hard to tell if that is what was playing or what someone picked on the Jukebox. All and all a completely generic experience with better quality available for the same price or less at almost any other bar/wing joint. read more
