I live in the neighborhood and come to this place a lot. Their salads are fresh and the wait staff is nice. Yesterday , September 2nd at about 5:10-5:15 pm my friend and I went over for dinner before the Sox game. When we walked in, we asked to be seated in the bar area. The hostess stated that she just put two servers in that area. My friend and I looked at each other and I assumed she didn't hear me or misunderstood so I asked again. She said she couldn't seat us there and asked if we wanted to sit in the dining room. There were plenty of open tables in the bar area but ok, we went with the dining room. Our hostess walked us over to a table and I asked if we could sit in one of the three booths that were open. Two were clean and one was not. She said the booths were "closed". We then asked if we could grab the table near the window, which was the table next to where she wanted to seat us. She said sure. When my friend grabbed the menus, we realized she only gave us one menu for the two of us. Ok. We'll share. Not two minutes after we were seated, the hostess sat two Hispanic women in one of the "closed" booths and were each given a menu. I looked at my friend and told her that we should move over to the other booth. My friend said we should wait for our server. When our server walked over I asked if we could move to the open booth. She said that she had to make sure it was clean. She walked up to the hostess stand and looked as if she was talking to the hostess. At this point we got up and left. Were we not allowed to sit in the "closed" booths because we were white? Never have I had a problem with this restaurant. I will not be going back here. We go to this Buffalo Wings and Rings on Halstead in Chicago whenever we go down to see a White Sox game. The service is always very good, and our food always comes out fast and hot. We always get the same thing whenever we go here. I get the Traditional Wings Hot or Extra Hot with their special house made blue cheese dipping sauce and celery. My wife really likes the Parmesan Garlic wings. I haven't tried them but I seen a waitress bring out a try for another table full of burgers. They looked fantastic! In the past we have had the onion rings or a Caesar Salad as appetizers and those are really good also. I usually like to have a nice cold beer but I opted for iced tea today because of the drive out of the city. But they do have a really good selection of beers on tap and in bottles. This particular Wings and Rings has a shuttle to take you to the White Sox game. We always go after the game so we have not been able to take advantage of the free ride, but it's nice to know it's there. It would save $20-$25 parking fee at the ballpark. Came in on a Tuesday evening & everything was on point! I got seated right away, and a server came up to my table in less than 10 minutes. The food came out fast as well. I had my favorite Southwest Chicken Salad, which was amazing, it comes in a huge portion but it was so yummy that I finished the entire thing! We also went with 15 traditional wings (Buffalo, lemon pepper & mango habanero) YUM! & 5 boneless mango habenero wings for me. The mango habanero is my favorite flavor overall. Im going to try not to compare this place to Buffalo Wild Wings. Walking in, it looks like a pub/bar. They have lots of booths and tables and TVs all around the restaurant. They apparently have daily deals so make sure to check the chalkboard in the waiting area. A host came to seat us and both our host and our server were very nice! My boyfriend and I ordered a pitcher of beer because they had a deal. We also ordered 10 boneless wings with 10 traditional wings. I would have to compare their wing flavors and sizes to Buffalo Wild Wings although they're prices are a little much when there isn't a deal going on. My favorite flavors were garlic q and the garlic Parmesan. I'd advise you to go on a Tuesday when it's 79cent Wings. We also go their onion rings as well as their garlic aoli fries which were a hit!! Food comes out cold, the service is terrible they were fully staffed and I waited 20 minutes in my table before anyone came over to ask what we're having to drink. My husband and I stopped by Sunday to have dinner here with our one year old and watch the playoff game. We usually give our daughter some of our appetizers but I'm glad we did not this time around as my husband chewed into a hard sharp piece of metal that he actually had to dig out of his mouth when he bit into his fried pickle. We are regulars here, we have dinner every weekend at this place, we did not go there to ask for any handouts or to try and get out of paying our bill. We brought the incident up to the manager and all the manager could say was "I don't know where that could from in my kitchen". From the moment she came to the table she was very hostile and very defensive, and pretty much saying we put the piece of metal in our food. We asked her to Check in the kitchen to make sure this happened to no one else special little babies like my daughter because her ingesting that would have been something serious & she went back to "that could not come from my kitchen & I cannot stop serving something just because you had a bad experience." I work in the food service industry and the first thing I would have done when a customer brought something like this up to me would be walk straight to my kitchen and canvas the preparation line to make sure nothing else was contaminated but because this manager was very busy with the 4 top table of four gentleman she clearly did not have the time to go and make sure her customers were save from this type of incidents. The 4 gentlemen sitting next to us got the a very attentive and flirtatious manager, while we got the hostile version. To make matters worse, this wasn't the first time something like this happened to us, I got beer served in a glass that completely broken from the top. We live in the neighborhood and usually take the walks here for a nice stroll so we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt, as you can't tell it was a big mistake. I live across the street from this place. As in I wake up in the morning, go to the living room, open my shades and BAM! It's a bit annoying because sometimes it's hard to find parking in the neighborhood. But in the end, I'm the one smirking at the people who get tickets for parking in a permit parking neighborhood. We (a BIG group of us) had dinner at Buffalo Wings and Rings after a Sox game and we all had a great time. We arrived around dinner time but, having called ahead, they accommodated all of us (around 20 guys) easily. Not only were we all at the same "table" (several put together) but they put us in the back corner which was nice as it felt a bit secluded from everyone else. Our waitress was quick to take drink orders and handled all the food orders without any issue. As can happen with a big group, she attempted to hand out drinks and ultimately no one would claim them. But she never lost her cool, she just checked and checked and checked until some moron, who forgot what he ordered, finally realized that it was his drink. The same happened with the food. But, like I said, she handled it like a pro. As for the food, even for being a huge group everything came out at relatively the same time - and tasted hot and fresh to boot! Granted, it did take a bit longer form the time we ordered to the time the food was delivered but that is to be expected. I had the boneless wings and they were very, very good. However, they did not compare to the Cauliflower "wings"... those things are freaking AMAZING!! Oh man, I am getting hungry now just thinking of them. The next time I come in I am 100% getting those again. We had a fun and delicious time at BW&R and really enjoyed how they handled our large group. Every time I've been there the service has been so slow and the order only correct about half the time. But tonight they took it to a whole new level. I liked the wings but honestly the service was so terrible that I don't want to come back. I was there late-ish on a Saturday night 10:30 or so but it was pretty quiet. I sat at the bar and waited for someone to take my order while I looked at the menu, it took a while so I had plenty of time to decide. I ended up with 10 wings, 5 buffalo and 5 lemon pepper with fries. The menu stated that I got ranch and celery so when my food arrived without it I wanted to get my server's attention that it hadn't arrived. I was one of 3 tables, one of them a large group and my server, Filepe R-I really don't want to name and shame but I'm making it a point to, was nowhere to be found. When he did finally come by to check on he asked "everything ok?" and before I could say anything he answered "ok" for me and moved onto another table-which had a large group. I ended up flagging a busser down who said he'll go ask my server. Filepe then comes by with 4 stalks of celery and a tub of ranch, but at this point I'm almost done. By the time I was done, again Filepe was nowhere to be found, as I was considering doing a dine and dash beecause I was tired of waiting, the same busser came by to clear my plates so I asked him if I could get the check, and again he had to go ask the server. If these two could switch places it would probably make the experience for everyone better. Where do I start.. came in on Sunday. They weren't very busy and their TV system was down so they couldn't air any football games ... mind you, this is a sports bar with 20 TVs knows for their sports/Beer/Wings. Hard to mess that up. This is where my issue comes in. Our server checked on us a few times.... she never ever picked up any plates, literally we piled our dirty plates to be polite and nothing, she came again to drop off new beer, and still left all our other empty glasses behind.. again and again. Waitlist was way too long for the quality of food. We ordered the Korean Shrimp appetizer which was described in such a way that it sounded mouth watering! Instead we got fried shrimp in a sauce that tasted no different than the thai chilly wing sauce on a bed of raw cabbage. THAT was their "atop a bed of Korean BBQ slaw". As per the wings, they seemed like they were attempted to 'elevate' an already great food. One of the sauces the wings were ordered in separates at the bottom and you were either hit with some vinegar taste or a spice that was bitter. You had to constantly swirl the sauces before each bite. I also got a side of coleslaw that was disappointing beyond belief. The was no pepper, no salt, no anything! It tasted as if it was made with a thinned out mayonnaise mixed with bagged cabbage mix. The service was mediocre also and just seated patrons, took orders, brought it all out, and was done. There was no check in or 'seeing' if we needed anything or wanted to order anything else despite me previously asking about the dessert menu. One word can sum up the food here: Disgusting. I can't remember the last time I had food this bad! This place is a knock off of Buffalo wild wings, but extremely poor. Think McDowell's, with unbelievably bad food and service. So to start off we got the fried pickles and queso dip. The queso dip was a can of chili poured into a bowl with some shredded cheese and sour cream in it. I think they were trying to save some $$ when it came to the chips, as half of them were so stale they wouldn't even break. Next up were 20 wings with 4 different flavors, and a cheese burger and onion rings. The wings were terrible! They just add hot sauce to some canned flavorings to change the spice level of them. Lemon pepper buffalo wings?! TERRIBLE!! Seriously I couldn't even swallow the one I tried. No one can like these. My cheeseburger had shredded freaking cheese on it, and was hockey puck for the level of doneness. Seriously.. I was so disappointed i'm getting mad and typing harder as I write this review.
