Wings Over Providence has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in food establishment and the food is sub par. I ordered my meal and was told that there would be a 45 min - 1 hr wait around 3:00pm (which was reasonable). They had called and told me that my order would not be delivered till 5pm because they did not have a driver. 5pm rolls around and the food is still not delivered. I called to see what was going on and was told that it would be another 1-2 hours. The operator was not only rude and condescending but also did nothing to rectify the issue. I was a student in Amherst for 5 years, had eaten Wings my entire college career, and the food was nothing but stellar. The food at Wings Over Providence is a mockery and disgusting in comparison to the Amherst property. The food is dry and has no sauce (even though they claim to "give you enough"). Good wings but worst service ever. I tried ordering from their online system and it didn't go through, but I was charged through my bank. I called Wings and the manager said it would take 3-4 days to go back on my account. This happened like 4 months ago and I totally forgot, hence why I did it again. Don't you think they would have fixed this problem by now? I tried explaining to the manager that I didn't have any more money on that card at the time, and that I couldn't just order again and that they needed to fix the problem. There's literally always a problem with my order and when i tried to go with a less expensive order the sloppy cashier deliberately overcharged me with the wrong order and yet Still made me swipe my card again. Anyone who knows me knows that good wings are my kryptonite. This being said, a friend of mine told me about this place not too long ago. So we made a plan to take the wives and kids there for dinner. Man oh man when I say I had some of the best wings of my life! My wife and I split an order of fries and a "Stratocruiser" (14-22 pieces of wings). We split the flavors in half. We had half Teryaki and half Honey Barbecue. I must say my friend's stellar raving of their wings was very much justified! The wings were not dry, good amount of sauce on the wings and tender. The owner/ manager of this restaurant should be mortified by the way their front staff treats customers. I have NEVER experienced such poor customer service in my life and because of this, myself and the other front line workers putting in 12+ hour shifts at a hospital, will never order from here again. My coworker was not only given attitude when initially ordering food, but then laughed at over the phone when they called back 2 hours later to check on the status of the delivery. I was owed a credit for the hangar 1. Reason for the owed credit was that my entire meal was cold and soggy. Used my credit; waited over an hour for delivery, once order arrived they only gave me 1/2 a credit. I spoke to the owner Armando and he didn't seem to care to fix the issue. I don't understand why I wasn't given full credit for both my boneless wings and fries since they were delivered cold and soggy. Anywho I found a bone in my boneless wings. Ok let's start with an easy phone in order for delivery. I had to repeat my order 3 times and was put on hold several times. I was told it would take 1 hour and I was fine with that. My husband and I have been coming to your location since it opened. We order there regularly, well at least we used to. Tonight we ordered a wings and fries through delivery. Upon receiving the delivery, we realized they forgot the fried. When my husband called to ask for them to be delivered, we were yelled at, interrupted, and hung up on three different times!! The employees we dealt with were John (a shift supervisor), "Mariah" and a girl who refused to give her name. All of these employees apparently need to be retrained in customer service. All you had to do- was send an order of fries. I am a manager in the customer service industry and if any of my employees acted half as rude as any of them they would be fired. Best "wings over" on the east coast. Crispest fries, and they always put enough sauce on the wings, unlike "wings over new haven" and "wings over storrs" in CT. The one thing that RI has that is better than CT is its wings over. I Recommend the garlic Parmesan waffle fries. read more

I have ordered wings from this place many times (they are good) and will NEVER, EVER do so again....and will go out of my way to share my horrendous experience with people and vigorously go out of my way to discourage anyone from ever patronizing this place! Knowing how busy they get on Superbowl Sunday, I called TWO DAYS in advance to order my wings. I requested a 6:00 PM pick up time to make it on time to a Super Bowl party...I had committed to bring the wings. I was assured that the pick up time was fine.....and even reiterated "so my wings will definitely be ready at 6PM, correct?".....and the answer was "YES" When I arrived at 5:55 PM, there was a line of people out the door and only what I can describe as an angry mob inside the restaurant. Complete chaos. There were people many, many people who had called at least a day ahead, and paid in advance...and had pick up times as early as 5:15 PM and had not received their orders yet. It was bedlam. When I reached the counter at 6:15, I gave the woman my name and my pick up time. She confirmed my order and requested (and confirmed) pick up time...she told me that my order was not ready and that she had no idea when it would be. I was livid...as were many others. We demanded that the manager some out. When he did, he was completely belligerent and aggressive, telling the crowd "can't you see we are busy?"....your orders will be ready when they are ready. There was zero apology given. It was an outrageous situation and an even more outrageous response. The lack of responsiveness and the utter disregard for customers.....who had called ahead, paid ahead, requested a specific pick up time and being assured their food would be ready was unbelievable!!!!! I left without my food and arrive empty handed at my host's house. I don't care how good the wings are....part of a good experience includes service and I have never experienced anything worse. Came here a few times for the wings I tried the regular wings and the boneless and so far my favorite flavor is honey mustard. It has a buttery aftertaste that can be addicting. However the boneless wings were dry and lacked flavor. Had the waffle fries and they were so so kinda cold, nothing special. Their website gives "updates" on your order, but they are not accurate at all. It says your order is done and then you have to wait another 25 min when you arrive to pick it up. The first time I tried Wings Over Providence, believe it or not. My friend ordered for me, so, I couldn't tell you the exact name of what I got. They have a lot of different names for things on the menu. We ordered out. The service isn't the best, to say the least. I got chicken tenders, kickin' bbq flavor, which were delicious. Since the new management took over this place, it has improved dramatically. Besides their wings being delicious, their customer service has been incredible. Being able to order (and pay) online is is extremely handy, and every order I've placed has been completed extremely fast. I called Wings Over Providence on Superbowl Sunday at 3:00 PM and planned to order enough food for a Super Bowl Party. They informed me that due to the high demand I could only get one flavor of sauce for my wings. So instead of placing a full order with wings (four lbs), I ordered 1.5 lbs, and did not order fries or wings, or three racks of ribs. I went to Wes' Rib House instead. Wings Over Providence is now off of my list. If they cannot serve what is on their menu, they should close up. I like their wings and they are reasonable. I've been getting wings from this company for years and love the product but this last interaction with the Providence store was the worst interaction I've ever had at a good service. I ordered my food over the phone and they said it would be ready in 20mins. I walk in to see the two girls at the front end arguing with each other then with the men in the back about being on their phone. This all while ignoring me and the other people walking in after me including a pregnant lady. I interrupt them to tell them I put in an order. Get attitude. Then they say it's not ready. I pay and sign. Giving only enough tip to round to the nearest dollar. I see food on the pick window. I stand to the side by in an eye view of the food. 15minutes go by and they call me for my food that was ready before I even paid. I don't know who's managing this place but they need to gut the staff and start over. Maybe the manager should be let go as well for hiring such a poor staff. read more

Love this place! We drive a half hour to and from to get here. The hangar 2 is what my husband and I always order! We are never hungry after eating there, portions are huge. Dine in is a whole lot better for us because of the distance but have also done take out more often than not. Just is a bit colder and not as good because we are eating it later. Not their fault. Came here for lunch, service...horrendous....wings....phenomenal! We went there on lunchbreak and we were the second person in line, it took 13 min to give our order. There was one woman working the counter and she kept answering the phone, taking there orders, and ignoring everyone standing in line. I do not know why there wouldn't be on person taking all of the phone orders and one person taking orders at the restaurant. So now I know to just call ahead on my way there so the order goes in and then just eat it there, lesson learned. The wings came out really quickly, we got a wide variety of wings and they were all cooked perfectly, super crispy, amazing seasoning and the waffle fries are a great side for your wings. They never called to give us an update or to tell us it was going to be delayed. Called the place and they said they "can't contact the driver and the driver has not been updating their tracker". This is unacceptable for a business. Last time we ordered, the driver wanted us to come out of work place, cross the street and grab the food from his car and he refused to meet me at the door. Thank god, because when I found out they were closed down I started to become depressed. I lost my appetite and did not want to eat anything else but Wings Over Providence. I love the location that it is in, but hate the drive from my house. You take the good with the bad I guess. The virtual menus on the flat screens is awesome! The only down fall of the place is the seating. It is fairly small and the seats themselves are not all that comfortable. I can say that I've had every flavor possible they offer. BUT, of course I have a few favorites. Honey BBQ, citrus chipotle, garlic parmesan and oriental sesame. Whether you go with the regular wings or boneless you wont be disappointed. I usually grab the Hangar 1 (F-16) and it's a perfect amount of food for 2 people. Garlic Parmesan Wings - say it again - garlic parmesan wings. That just sounds delicious right? Well it should be. I've tried Wings over Providence 3 times. I want it to be delicious. I want it to be the best wings I've ever had. The reality is that the chicken is dry even with "sauce" AND it's over priced. I feel like a place that focuses on one main food item should knock it out of the park. Wings over (fill in the name of a city with a college nearby) is an overrated chain. Went here on the advice of a friend who claimed they have the best wings and BBQ ribs in New England. Well......its good but I would rate it standard. Nothing wrong with the place. It is clean, the service is great and they have a variety of sauces and flavors to choose from as well as a cool selection of combination orders. Worst wing joint ever. I have had some bad sauces and some shitty wing but this is by far the worst. Horrible service. Very unfriendly staff. Not a very clean dining area. My fries had a strange bright yellow powder on them. The icing in the cake was the stone cold wings I got severed. The fact that they had 3 people in line and I waited 15 minutes to try and talk to them about my cold wings and the line never moved. I would never go back.
