Traveling home to NY and detoured a bit to get lunch at Raisin Cane in Warwick, RI. We enjoyed it in RI last year. Happy that one is coming soon to Wolf Road in Albany, NY. It will be 9 miles from my home. Order: took only 8 min to fulfill at lunchtime Chicken Sandwich Four tenders, Cole slaw and two packs special sauce Three tenders and sauce Superior chicken tenders -- all white meat, battered & deep fried. But not greasy tasting or to touch. Moist and tender meat every time! Very Crispy bite and lightly batter. Outstanding. Coleslaw-- excellent! --veggie bits, savory with hint of vinegar, not pronounced mayo. Dipping Sauce is outstanding, a blend of mayo, sweet chili sauce and a touch of vinegar. I first heard about Raising Cane's while listening to the NPR show 'How I Built This' while driving to work one Sunday morning four years ago. Cane's founder Todd Graves was a guest and his description of how he started the business and about his product was very impressive. One was built near where I live about a year and a half ago, but I never seemed to be hungry when I was driving by. Well today I was ready to eat, so I pulled in on the way home from an appointment in Boston. I should have done this a year ago! The chicken tenders were moist, tender, and had been cooked in an incredibly delicious well seasoned batter. That in itself would have satisfied me but I'd also ordered the Cane's dipping sauce. That turned my meal into a masterpiece! It blended so well with the seasoning of the chicken and batter. The two young women who served me at the counter were perfect examples of what customer service is supposed to be. They were friendly, efficient, knowledgeable about their products, and patiently helpful while I was trying to decide which of the two sauces I wanted. Thank you both! The dining and ordering areas were spotlessly clean and well lit. It would be the perfect place for a family to come and have a healthy meal as a treat on a weekend afternoon. I wish that Raising Cane's had been around when I was little. :-) One word of warning however, Raising Cane's only entree is chicken fingers so if you don't like chicken this might not be for you. This was my first time. They have a nice parking lot. They have a drive thru but we chose to dine in. It is all chicken. I got the chicken strip combo and my son got the sandwich. We both liked ours. I like the crinkle cut fries and the coleslaw was great. The service was nice and friendly. They have nice seating. They also have outside seating too. The walls are festive and I liked the disco balls on the ceiling. The sauce was good as well that comes with the chicken. read more

I normally am not a fan of fast food chicken. So many places dry it out and it tastes like jerky. But Raising Cane's does one thing and they do it very well! We stopped here after a trip to the mall, and just grabbed some chicken through the drive thru. It was just as fresh and hot as inside and their staff knows how to serve it up either way! This location is similar in style to the rest, clean and modern, but who is looking around with such great chicken to eat? read more

So I happened to visit on National Chicken Finger Day and scored an extra chicken finger with my box combo order! What a pleasant (and tasty) surprise! Because of this extra chicken finger, I was able to substitute my Cole slaw for a Cane's sauce free of charge. Totally worth the substitution since the Cane's sauce is SO FREAKING GOOD. Can somebody please get me access to the recipe?? I did have to wait a little bit for my order as expected, with the drive thru line dang near wrapping around the building. But it was cool to see other patrons enjoying their free chicken fingers as well, creating a lot of buzz around this southern fried chicken joint. Can't wait to come back! read more

A good friend of ours went to opening day of the new Raising Cane's in Warwick & won a year of free meals! She gets 3 of The Box Combo per month but says her doctor would kill her if she ate all 3 herself so she invited us to join her for dinner. And it was delicious! Four piping hot, crunchy & juicy chicken tenders with a mound of perfect crinkle fries, a small container of sweet cole slaw & another of Cane's secret sauce plus a grilled buttered piece of Texas toast with an Arnold Palmer to wash everything down. Highly recommend the lemonade & both the unsweetened & sweet teas. I love an unsweetened tea (2/3) with lemonade (1/3) - literally the most perfect summer drink, IMO. I had asked on previous visits, "Why Texas toast?" The cashier said, "Other restaurants do biscuits or rolls, we do Texas toast." Yup, that makes sense to me. I love that there is always an Elvis portrait. It is part of Raising Cane's lore to display Elvis Presley memorabilia, particularly velvet Elvis portraits, as a tribute to a piece of art found during the demolition of their first location. The founder used an Elvis towel and frame to cover a hole in the wall, which became their first "velvet Elvis". This became a tradition & now most Raising Cane's locations feature Elvis memorabilia as a unique design element. read more

I was driving home from and event and was pleasantly surprised to find this location right off of 295. I had no idea it was here! I was at the drive-thru on a Tuesday night and there was no line. The drive-thru employee was super friendly. I waited a few (I think because I was in a small car and they didn't see me) and she was so apologetic when she realized I was there, even upgraded my drink! I appreciate this nice customer service touch, which you usually don't experience at fast food spots. I do love a Cane's chicken tender! They are just really tasty and the fries are spot on as well. Add in the Cane's sauce and I was very happy with my quick dinner. I do want to try their lemonade next time, but I am just too much of a sucker for a Coke Zero. I like the concept here, that it is simple, straight forward, and tasty! Update to add I recently dined in with my son and -- 1. Love the music 2. First time trying a raising canes and I really enjoyed it! Got their traditional chicken finger meal and the fires and chicken tenders were tasty. The sauce is the star of the show. I don't get what makes this place popular ... given that Shack Shack, Popeyes and Chic Filet are right down the road, all of them are infinitely better than this place. If you like high calorie, salty foods ... you will like Raising Cane's. That's about all this place has going for it. First of all ... the menu sucks. Maybe I don't want a buttered/Toasted hot dog bun (which they call 'Texas Toast') ... crinkle cut french fries ... and a sugary drink with my tenders. You can buy the tenders for $2.50 each ... so $7.50 for three small tenders ... but you'd be far better off at Popeye's where the tenders taste better and are much bigger. The taste ... Given the hype, I was expecting amazing. The tenders aren't anything I wouldn't make in my own air fryer. They taste like bagged chicken tenders. No seasoning ... not exceptionally moist. Just average. The sauce that was offered was their 'famous' sauce. It tasted like Sweet Baby Ray's. I also ordered a honey mustard, which cost 50 cents extra. It was watery and kind of bland. They didn't have BBQ or Ranch sauce. The tenders were also very small ... much smaller than any other place. If not for the giant tray of carbohydrates, I'd have certainly left wanting several more. The extras ... french fries were salty, crinkle cut fries. Same as Shake Shack's. Bagged and fried and salted. The Texas Toast is a buttered and lightly toasted hot dog bun, without the slit. I thought that this must be some kind of inside joke that the owners had. Who eats an empty hot dog bun? It did taste good with the butter sauce, but its basically empty calories. They forgot to put my cole slaw in the bag and the line was too long to go back. Overall, this was just an average mess that I felt like I could make at home. I have no reason to return. At $13 for a 3-tender meal ... I basically feel like I got bread and a few tiny pieces of chicken. Expensive and average are two words that I don't love associating with fast food. I'd 100% choose Popeye's over this place ... or Chic Filet. Sure, it might be a little better than McDonalds at twice the price ... but I don't get the hype at all. read more

I got takeout from the drive thru and I feel like it warrants a review. I pulled up in line to order at 6:36 and it was 7:04 when I finally drove away from the window with my 3 kids combos. So I literally sat in my car for 28 minutes waiting for food. I could barely hear the person at the speaker to give my order but I managed. I swear she said to pay at the first window but there was no one manning the first window when I finally got there. At the second window, somebody mumbled something to me and I paid, and then I sat for another 5 minutes. I will say, raising caines is adequately staffed - there were four people inside standing around. I can't say they were doing nothing because at least one person was holding a clip board...when the window finally opened, they were actually ready to have me pay for the next persons order, not even realizing that they hadn't given me the order I have already paid for. She apologized and explained she had just gotten there, but I didn't realize you could shift change in the middle of someone's order. All in all, not a great experience. The food wasn't bad, once we finally got it and got home to eat it, but it certainly wasn't super hot and two of the containers were opened already in the bag (or were they just not closed properly?). I don't know what it's like when going inside the store to order and eat inside, but I think we'll try that next time rather than wasting so much time on a "quicker" option. read more

Super clean, weirdly unbusy on a weekday around lunch, and amazing service. The food is good - it's fast food fried chicken with a unique sauce. No more, no less. Our 1st experience at Raising Canes was memorable. We were greeted by Andrew in the front w/ a big smile. The food came out popping hot. The drive-thru speakers are so loud that I couldn't hear my own lane while the other lane was placing their order. My order was completely wrong. I requested sauce and was charged for extra sauce, but I received no sauce at all. I also asked for toast, but my sandwich was made on toast instead of a bun, and I didn't receive a side of toast. The cashier put the change back on the gift card.The manager came to the window I asked for my change. He said I could not get change. I told him I gave them cash my change should be cash. Place was nice and quick! Food was super hot and super fresh quality. Only complaint is the high prices but that's any fast food services now a days. Parking lot was a little tight too but building was clean and you can tell it's a new restaurant. read more

Visited Cane's on bald Hill for the first time on February 19. Very expensive for what it is, but I don't mind that if the food was great and unique. The chicken fingers had no flavor, or seasoning and just tasted bland. I looked all around and saw no napkins, no salt and no ketchup, none of which were in the bag when served. You may have been able to ask for them, but they were not provided and not accessible anywhere that I could see in the restaurant and after sitting down, I did not want to get back in line. Worse service ever- not sure how they will survive when you have to wait 20 min. For "chicken fingers" at 3:00 in the afternoon.
