I live pretty close and have been ordering from here regularly for a couple months, but they mess up the order way too often to keep trying. The food is good, but they've given me the wrong flavor three times now, out of maybe 7-8 orders. The first time they gave me a flavor I absolutely hate so I called and they did deliver the correct order afterwards. However I feel bad doing this as I'm not going to give a second tip to the driver for bringing them since it's the restaurants fault. The other two times I didn't call because I felt guilty making a driver deliver for free when it's not their fault, and I didn't want to wait another hour for food. I'm torn between 4 and 5 stars: I mean, as wings go, this place is fantastic, but of course it's weird to compare it to fine dining. This is a takeout / delivery place. I believe it has no tables. Anyway, the "boneless wings" are huge and juicy and delicious, and I've tried a variety of the sauces and liked all of them except the lemon pepper. My favorites are the honey mustard and the spicy teriyaki. My fries always arrive crispy and delicious too, which is unusual for delivery, but I live so close to the place that I may not be representative so your mileage my vary. DC-10, Honey Barbeque. I've been eating these for the last few years, usually on weekends, during Halo binges. I've always picked them up in the store until now... Internet delivery - it works! I'm always skeptical on Internet-based food delivery but the system works! I was quoted 45 minutes but the boneless beauties arrived in 22 mins (granted, I live 1 mile from the store...). I wanted so, so badly to like this place. I used to always go to Wings in Amherst, so I had high expectations for this one too. I was disappointed. I ordered delivery twice. The first time, my chicken was totally overcooked and lukewarm. The second time, my chicken was cooked right, but totally cold. Both times I asked them to use the side door, and both times I received an irritated phonecall from someone using the front door. (It's a different apartment, nothing I can do.) Since it was the same delivery driver each time (and not even a week later) you'd think that he would remember, but I guess that (or just reading the instructions on the printed out slip) is too much to hope for. Let me tell you the deal with this place. The boneless wings are why you go. You don't rate them on their delivery, which was never manned well enough to make it speedy, and which is one of the reasons for the low ratings here. But the wings here are absolutely BANGIN and that's what you go to get. All the other stuff on the menu... besides bone-in wings really... you don't need to get that stuff. The original location called "The Hanger" in Amherst was/is always awesome and good for other food, delicious beers and fun, but these Franchise take-out locations can't touch that. Just get the wings. Do carry out or fork over $10 extra for Uber Eats. Otherwise, they dry out... looking at you GrubHub. Eat them while they're hot. Hot, fresh, tasty, delicious wings. Start with the Honey BBQ. Maybe even tell management not to get stingy with their flavor sauce. We pay good money for these wings, am I right? This will be the last time I order from wings over. My last order was of cajun blackened wings and jamaican jerk fries with cajun waffle fries. Delivery took 90 mins (way too long) and when I opened the box I could literally count 8 waffle fries in the box, the cajun blackened chicken was dressed awfully with a sprinkle of cajun seasoning instead of the expected char that I expected in my order. I'm honestly shocked by the number of positive reviews for this place on Yelp. Hell, the wings were so bad that I was motivated to sign up for a Yelp account just to write this review! I ordered from Wings Over Somerville online a few days ago. The online ordering process was mostly painless-- there was a little trouble with the order form's read of my college dorm address, so I had to leave a note on it to ensure delivery. Being able to check the progress of my order from, well, order to delivery was cool, but this doesn't really reflect on the quality of food. I ordered mesquite wings for myself and some moderately hot traditional wings for my girlfriend. The celery was fine for us, despite what the other reviews say of it. Definitely pay the extra $.50 for blue cheese-- quantities are not generous. The wings were terrible. Awful. They were soggy, very fatty, and tasted absolutely cheap. The mesquite wings were awfully salty, tasting like they had been rubbed with crushed BBQ potato chips mixed with a few metric tons of salt. The traditional wings were, despite the presence of chicken bones, almost totally floppy. To make this worse, the sauce had very little flavor. Gross. I'm not ordering from here again. read more

I've only had the tenders here, but the variety of sauces and the consistency of the various flavors are excellent. The golden bbq sauce and the Jamaican jerk, in particular, stand out -- the former has a nice tang while the latter manages to be both sweet and spicy without being too hot. Of the rubs that I've had from this location, the garlic parmesan rub stands out. As far as sides, the caesar salad is okay -- the dressing is mediocre (a little too creamy) and the croutons are bland, but the greens (iceberg lettuce, it would seem) have been fresh and crisp. The prices tend to improve as the amount of wings you order increases -- it's probably better for a group than an individual, unless you plan on eating wings for a few days running. read more

This is mostly a review based on my delivery experiences. The food is always super fast (~40-50 min, which is great for delivery in this town), but for some reason the fries are always cold/soggy. They aren't that great in the first place, but there are few things worse then soggy fries. If you upgrade to the waffle fries, however, you'll be fine. Fortunately, like most people that come here, I'm not in it for the fries. I always get the boneless wings, and I've tried a variety of sauces and they are always delish. I would say the sauces vs the dry rubs work best for the tenders, and my top choices there are sweet chili & garlic parmesan. Wings Over Somerville is my go to place when I'm craving wings. The Golden BBQ specifically is to die for! I live in Burlington, but frequently make the trip down here just for takeout. They are very affordable and despite being called "Wings" you can't go wrong with the ribs here either. Food is cooked very quickly, sauces are delicious and they have many side options to choose from. This was even the case during the many times I have ordered for a big group, during busy time or dead time, they always deliver. And to top it off, the shakes are the perfect ending to any meal. Terrible experience. Awful customer service. Never go here - they have an imaginary business model where the customers pay to be inconvenienced. Walked in and ordered chicken and ribs. Place had some pickup orders already visible, so I guessed it might take a bit, but I didn't mind the wait...or so I thought. I changed my mind after I still didn't get my food an hour later. Eventually I had to leave without any food because of the incompetence of the staff and management. As I sat there, order after order went out. After a half hour, even the people who came in after me got their orders and left. Still nothing for me, not even a word - no explanation nor apology. Several more people got their orders. Eventually all the pickup orders and walk-ins were served so I asked what the holdup was. Only then did they even acknowledge that there was a delay. The response? "Oh they used the wrong sauce, so it's taking a while to make a new batch." Really?! Why didn't they say something to me? Could they have offered me those wrong-sauce ribs at a discount? Could they have started re-making it as soon as they screwed up the order (because I know it didn't take them 35 minutes to prep a second batch of ribs)? Could they even apologize?! You'd think when someone has waited an hour for food while your team went on serving everyone else, the customer would at least get some sort of acknowledgement? No. Nothing but "only three more minutes." Seriously, this is the kind of business model you have? Treat your customers like they have no value? Ignore them, make their food wrong, make all the other orders before you re-make it, and then pretend that everything went fine? I have suggestions: hire competent cooks; teach your staff to communicate; and in general teach them to follow the golden rule (would any of them be tolerant of such incompetent service at another eatery?). read more

I used to order from here a lot a few years back and really enjoyed it they used to do their own delivery and it was really convenient and food was good quality. I decided to give this place another try because I was craving some honey mustard and garlic parm boneless wings. I ordered through Doordash without a hitch. The delivery driver communicated with me the entire time and gave me updates as to his whereabouts. He dropped off the food in the location I want (contactless and social distancing in mind) and was absolutely great. I ordered a hanger 1 combo (DC-10, garlic parm and honey mustard, fries (I upgraded to waffle fries), and a can of soda), and some onion rings. Everything came in a timely manner and I was super excited to tear into some crispy, flavorful, and juicy boneless wings, but, I was met with crushing disappointment. The wings were really crispy but not in a good way, imagine if they were fried, stored, over microwaved, and then maybe fried again, it was so dry and tough and much saltier than I remember them being. The pieces were all very small as well, which I think contributed to the dryness. I had one good piece that was semi juicy and not teeth cracking hard. The waffle fries were also way overcooked and hard, imagine, kettle cooked potato chips in waffle fry shapes, definitely super crispy crunch and unexpected. Onion rings also disappointed. These were the only things that weren't extra extra crispy because they were cold and soggy. Basically, nothing I ordered was remotely satisfactory outside of the Doordash delivery man. read more

They arrived in (no joke) about 10-15 minutes after called them to order. The bone-in wings were super juicy and the sauce was good, but a bit watery. Seriously good service. Seriously good boneless wings. I've never been in the store, but we have gotten delivery on a couple occasions and it's always been terrific. I know ordering online is one of those things that is driving human beings further apart.. but I loves it! haha It's so simple to order from their website and delivery is within 30 minutes (or rather it has been for me). Slash, you can even make an order for a future time/date. I was CRAVING wings one morning and they weren't open yet so I placed an order online and ::ding dong:: they made my order right after they opened and they were right on time for lunch. On top of that, their delivery guys have always been great. So onto the grub. Stick to the wings. My friend ordered a burger and it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. The patty (which was thick) was slightly overcooked. I've gotten both sweet onion BBQ and honey BBQ boneless wings and YUM. Both were cooked just right and the meat was so tender. The sweet onion was a little tangier than I would have liked, but ya know.. you get over it. They throw the waffle fries into the container fresh out of the fryer (I'm assuming), so I think that's why they can be soggy (hot moistureyness). Go ahead and check off the "well done" box when ordering to get a crispier fry. Nothing says gluttony like cheese fries and wings. I suggest plain or ranch fries, but they have a ton of options for flavors. Also, they give you more cheese when it's just on the fries, but of course it's going to be a lil soggy. Be sure to ask for an extra container of cheese if you decide to get yo cheese on the side. I'm not one for hot, so I get the foofy BBQ stuff, but from the looks of these reviews, it looks like they can handle those that are craving the burn of hot sauce! AND they have late night delivery.
