The woman there insisted it has always been made like that - I know it wasn't because it used to be my favorite and I'm not a sauce person. The japchae was also overcooked, mushy, and overly salty. It was very dark brown, as if a jug of soy sauce was poured in, not the light translucent brown color that it should be. To top off this meal, I had a stomach ache immediately after eating there.
