As it is a chain, I'll be sure to note other Vons locations in the nearby area. Generally great chicken; crispy and crunchy, thicker batter but stays on the chicken very well. The additional flavors were quite punchy even in smaller quantities (we asked for it all on the side so we mixed and matched their honey butter and sweet cheddar flavors; both came as powders). Got combo and boneless options, both are pretty good. I'm personally more fond of the flavor and juiciness of wings/drumsticks, but the boneless wings had a moist yet stringy quality to it that was interesting to eat. The rice cake side was a very nice appetizer to open with. Not quite traditionally prepared as it's sans most of the typical additions (no fish cake, veggies scale back, light sesame topping). I came for a quick dinner and wanted to get a personal portion meal. I am surprised they don't offer a wider variety of size options for chicken strips. They had only a lunch hour option and dinner time, larger, more expensive option. I had to get the only option available for dinner time. I changed my mind about the amount of food right away as I was paying, but then the cashier didn't want to cancel the order. The customer service was lacking on that front. Not only that, but while it's the same amount of chicken maybe as you would get at KFC for a similar price, I didn't think the normal fried chicken at Vons tasted very good.
