I e been multiple times now and this us the essence of Michoacan coookIng. Always a group of ladies over what seems to be 3 generations of current and future carriers of the cuisine. Still 5 stars in book despite the haters saying othherwise. Costillas and carne asada are amazing and the Molcajete mixto is a constant

So apparently I haven't had legitimate Mexican food before because I could hardly recognize anything on the menu. HOWEVER.. it all looked delicious, and the menus had tons of pictures. Environment is consistent with a respectable Latin restaurant and the food was amazing. I bought 3 different things and loved each and every one of them. 1) Aguachile Verde. Look it up. It's amazing. And I haven't had shrimp as fresh as theirs anywhere else. And this is somewhat of a hole in the wall. It was a bit spicy but that's a preferential thing so yea. 2) Tostada Mixta which was a tostada with various seafood meats in a plate mixed with veggies and spices. Again, very delicious and every piece of seafood tasted very fresh. 3) Also got the Molcajetes which was essentially a bowl with various meats and sauce. SUPER DELICIOUS. Love this place. Will recommend to anyone who wants legitimate, authentic and fresh Mexican food. RWC's greatest kept secret!

El Fogón has a full menu of seafood dishes and appetizers. I can't yet Yelp about the non seafood dishes but I spied some taco plates carried by waitresses that had sort of a artistic sushi look to them. They don't mess around with their hot sauces. I decided to order the aguaschiles chipotle and the flavor definitely had a kick to it. I didn't need to add any hot sauce. I will definitely come back as the trifold menu had ample choices and pictures that piqued my curiosity.

Amazing food. A little loud on the music. Otherwise a great spot. We recommend the shrimp michelada and the Molcajete mixto!

Came in and placed an order to go (2 dishes, no substitutions). Took over an hour to prepare. Seemed like a bad dream.

Overpriced but authentic Mexican seafood dishes. Not my cup of tea. My wife does not want me to pickup again.

Sweet :) Wanted something relatively fast and somewhat healthy and hearty, so we decided to go in. I ordered three shrimp tacos which I believe came with corn tortillas, grilled shrimp, green bell peppers, white onions, and some kind of salsa (green salsa & pico de callo). Delicious! There was a pretty good amount of shrimp in each taco, which I was super stoked on. Total for the three shrimp tacos came out to $19.74 (3x shrimp tacos = $5.99). Everything came out perfect and consistent. There is seating outside and plenty of seating inside. When you first walk in, you will notice the bar to the left side of the restaurant. It was clean, bright, and welcoming. The woman at the counter was straight-forward, nothing too crazy to note on. They have a $10 minimum when paying with a credit card, so just be prepared for that :) The best part is... they have self-serve tortilla chips AND self-serve salsa bar! Their salsas were the right amount of spicy (just the way I like it)... Their bathroom is also very clean, which is always a plus. I told my friend that I will make note of this restaurant, because it's so good and delicious... (will definitely come back again for their salsa bar :)

It has always been a…read morego-to for special occasions, hosting out of town guests and now is very much my standard takeout place on a Saturday night. My original dish of choice was the Red Snapper Al Mojo de Ajo. But many years ago I made the switch to Enchiladas de Mariscos. I have tried the Mole Poblano and fajitas. I have been known to get a burrito for lunch. There are other things on the menu I'm sure I'd be happy with. But, when it's Cafe del Sol night, I crave the adobo marinated seafood and chipotle tequila cream sauce of the seafood enchiladas. They are served with yummy cilantro rice, diced mango, salsa fresca, and a small salad. The rotating dishes of my party include Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, the Red Snapper, Fish Tacos, and El Combo. We always get Quesadilla de Camaron as a starter. The quesadilla comes with a side of guacamole, sour cream, salsa fresca, and diced mango for your dipping pleasure. A side order of chips comes with an addictive salsa verde. The restaurant is not without its challenges. It is a small space and often only has one server. The two servers, Tammy and Sonia, have been there forever and are very loyal to their customers. If you are looking for a place with constant stimulation, the latest and greatest in restaurant decor, this isn't the place for you. I come back over and over for the flavors I can't resist.

I typically order the chicken nachos or the chicken tostada. I have no idea what seasoning they use on the chicken, but it is to die for! I've also tried some of their other appetizers which were also very good. Taking way one star just because the inside is pretty awkward to navigate (you have to squeeze between tables), and I do wish they offered margaritas haha. I also feel like it's always super quiet in there when dining in. I feel like if they had fun music playing or offered weekend brunch or something, it might get more customers in there.

The unripe tomatoes were inedible. The chips and guac were fine. The red enchilada was far from ted as the copious amount of cheese on top pushed it to the edge of the plate. Which turned out to be a good thing in that it, like the green tomato, was inedible. It had a repugnant flavor when even compated to canned enchilada sauce. The rice, although flavor wise was ok, the variety of textures was off putting. All of it was dry, some crunchy, some rubbery. The Tortilla soup was disappointing. It was flavorfull but the wrong flavors in my mind. I like a good simple chicken and chili broth whereby the flavorful fried tortillas are standouts against the broth as they are added to the bowl just prior to adding the broth. Like wise the shredded chicken. Maybe a couple of rounds of drinks first us the key. Hopefully you will have a positive experience. The service was very good and the atmosphere was nice.
