This is our go-to Wing Stop because my wife likes the way they cook the wings... Not this time though. We ordered ahead to mitigate the typical long wait anybody coming through the door faces. They cater mostly to pick-up orders it seems. We ordered 20 wings, veggies (the veggies continue to be really good...), and two pots of dipping blue cheese dressing. Good smells emanated from the bag the whole trip home. Though the bag was never tipped over, when we were taking it from the vehicle we noted that the bottom of the bag was completely saturated with Buffalo Sauce. Upon opening the bag, all the contents had to be brought in separately due t being covered in sauce. The wing container was intact and upright. When we opened it, some wings had sauce on them, others did not. We were completely baffled not knowing how so much sauce could be soaked through the bag! When we ate the wings we also found the order wasn't up to our typical expectations of this Wing Stop. The wings were not completely covered with sauce and the wings tasted like they were cooked in old oil. The chicken was not extra done like my wife orders, i.e. extra crispy. They were cooked like you would normally expect a typical Wing Stop to cook them which I, her husband, happen to like. The lack of sauce on the wings yet the bag soaked in sauce leads me to think almost the unthinkable... They appear to have cooked the wings in old oil but forgot to toss them in sauce. The error was noted after the wings were placed in the bag and some sauce was tossed in, some got the chicken, most got the bag. The bag appeared normal and made it to the car. After only 15 minutes of driving, the bag was soaked and risked breaking getting it out of the car. The sauce did soak through though and puddled in the rubber pads I had installed in this truck to catch beach sand. Yes, puddled. That's how much sauce made it through the bag though the wings were not saturated and minimally covered. Whenever I'm in town and looking for wings, I'll stop in the Santa Maria Wingstop. Usually the wait is longer than I'm willing to wait for so I'll either call in or place my order online. The online process is really easy, but the only negative is that you don't know what the limited time sauce/flavor is at the time. Usually the flavors are pretty good and it mixes it up from the usual sauces they have. I like the lemon pepper, hot, Cajun, mango habanero. For the sides, their fries are really well seasoned and I like them a little more well done with extra seasoning. The baked beans are underrated and they're delicious as well. Usually, the small sizes are more than enough food. The 6 or 10 piece individual meal is a good deal, it comes with wings, drink, and a side of your choice. On Mondays and Tuesdays, they have their 50 cent boneless wings with a minimum order of 10 pieces. I'm not a huge fan of boneless wings so I always go with the bone-in wings. The line does get pretty bad on those days so be prepared. I've never actually dined in here but there are TVs with sports on them. The fountain machine has a good selection of sodas and teas. The roll of paper towels is a life saver since things can get messy really quickly. read more

I have walked in to order food with no other customers in line/in restaurant and still have to wait 30 mins to an hour OVER what they told me the wait time was going to be. There have also been occasions of employees arguing and fighting with each other and customers in restaurant. I have never seen a smile from anyone working there, and the employees treat you like literal garbage. I walk in and there are ten or more employees on the clock with at least half just standing doing nothing. My wife went to WS today to pick-up an order that I ordered for her online, but apparently the online order was not registered there (online is not user friendly at all) Anyway, I had ordered previously over the telephone and forgot to tell them that she would be there later. So, I decided to order on-line and placed the order (I thought) and the I called her to tell her that I put two orders in (my bad) and that she make sure I don't get billed twice. Well, when she arrived there they informed her that there was no other order placed and that she had to pay for the first order that I placed via phone call. My wife ended up walking out without her meals and stated that she would NEVER RETURN and that was met with OK, up too you! Here is an example why this location is the most backwards business I've ever been to that cares nothing about their customers. I try to order on the app but it doesn't let me, it tells me to call the store. I call the store they say the wait is an hour. I begin order when the employee stops me. She says I can't order online or the phone I have to come to the store. I say ok but if I do the wait will be a reasonable 15 minutes. She says no, an hour. So I ask why can't I order over the phone and come in an hour. She says it's the "manager's rules". I ask to speak with the manager, employee says only the shift leader is there and they'll just tell me the same thing. So to be clear I ask the only way to order is to come to the store and wait an hour? Employee says yes thats the policy. This makes 0 sense during covid. You want all these people huddled up in the store? Or you want them waiting outside in the cold freezing weather? Big middle finger to the customer. I shouldn't be surprised though. This location has been awful for years but it's the only place in town for wings. They need new management or new owners. I'll start with what I did like. The fried corn is very tasty and very good. I also bought an order of 20 bone in Louisiana rub wings. They were not seasoned well. Some of the wings didn't look like they had seasoning at all. Some of the wings skin was still fatty indicating they weren't cooked long enough. I checked to make sure the insides were done and they were. At the bottom of the to-go container was approximately 1/4 cup of oil. That's a lot of grease! Okay, they are fried but that's too much. With the amount of grease, the chicken not seasoned well, and the skin on the chicken still fatty, it is a clear indication that this person who cooked my order was in a rush and didn't execute the meal properly. A quote from Gordon Ramsey would be, "What were you thinking you donut?!" I have had the Lompoc locations wings and they were much better. I have had this in the past. However, I ordered so wings and 4 tenders that took about an hour and 45 minutes. Only a girl is nice about it and the rest of the folks are in a bad mood. You order by phone for with the purpose of no waiting in line for an hour, than you make a order to be picked up in one hour and a half and when you get there they tell you you have to wait 15 minutes for the order 3 times!!! Normally, I don't have a problem coming to Wing Stop. Food comes out quick and hot. The reason I gave 3 stars is because of the service (I would've given it 2 stars but the wings saved them). I called to place an order for pick up and was immediately placed on hold which I don't have a problem waiting a minute or two. That is, I have no problem if the phone would ever get picked up again. I was left on hold he entire drive over to Wing Stop. When I walked in, the place was empty except for one table of 2 people. A word of advice, if you put someone on hold, try not to forget about them. Wing Stop would be so much more pleasant if I at least got a smile when I walked in, not a look that translates to "what to do you want, hurry up and order, and get out." Don't look so annoyed! Well, I just love wing stop!!! The wings are always crispy yet moist. I've tried all their flavors and my most favorite is garlic parmesan. I am a little upset that they removed their baked beans, LOVED them. They now have that cajun corn, they have a nice kick to them. Fries I order extra crispy with extra seasoning, that brown sugar makes it to die for!! The rolls are light and airy. I have not tried any other sides so I can not comment on those. This store itself is usually pretty great. Workers are always polite and smiling. Time taking your order is quick but waiting for food is usually the minimum of 15 minutes. Which is okay, my food is fresh!! Today their coke station and restroom was pretty dirty, it might have been the large group that was dining there. The only downside here is the restaurant is way to small for how busy they are. Work on expanding so you don't have customers leaving due to no seating! read more

Worst Wingstop I've ever been to. I love Wingstop. Their food is great. We definitely like them better then B-Dubs, but the problem with this Wingstop is the staff. The workers are absolutely horrible. They are lazy and unhelpful. If you're ordering on the weekend expect at least an hour and a half wait. If you place an order on the app I can guarantee it will not be ready at your selected time. You'll have to wait an extra 15+ minutes. These people act like they've never had a job before and have no idea what they are doing. Wingstop is now a publicly traded company for a reason - the wings are good, really good! The bone-ins especially are plump, juicy, and flavorful. Unfortunately this location has not been consistent in the freshness of its wings. They were quite "weak sauce" during my last visit, a Saturday in the early evening. The wings came out warm and a little dry, not appetizing. I had the mango habanero and the original hot sauces. I would only ever get the original flavor again. My two companions agreed it is the best flavor. For $15 I recommend splitting the combination of two wing flavors with two large drinks and an order of fries. It feeds two to three people. I like that four flavors of Gold Peak iced tea are an option here so it's not just soda. Also, the Wingstop fries are so satisfying, better than the wings, because they have some of the potato skin on the sticks, lending to more crunch on the outside, while still being soft on the inside... They even have a lil sugar sprinkled with the salt. It's a winning combination that constitutes one of my favorite fries out there. I have eaten at this location only twice so it's been excellent once and mediocre once, hence the 3 stars. read more

Have had decent experiences previously with Wing Stop. However, was very annoyed to wait approximately 35 minutes for a very basic order today, with three other people who ordered after me being served in one third the time that my order took. After 21 minutes, one of the employees asked me for my name, checked the ticket, which was still hanging in front of the grill, and told me it would just be 2 to 3 more minutes. I waited another 15 minutes beyond the point when the employee asked my name before they had the order ready. When they finally called my name to hand me my order, they never apologized for the delay. The store was not busy at all. There was no reason for this delay or for the lack of apology. I noticed they had a sign up requesting people to give them 5 stars on Yelp, yet they are apparently not concerned when they make a mistake that results in a significant delay for the patron. It's alright though, there are plenty of new restaurants opening up in the area that I'm sure would enjoy my frequent business. read more
