We frequent Winter's Run Inn, but our last visit was not a pleasant experience. We had six in our party. when we arrived we were asked if we had reservations. We did not. It was a Thursday. we were told we could have a table but had to be done in an hour. We ordered mostly burgers, all of which were overcooked. We have always done separate checks and we're not informed that they no longer do separate checks (rudely I might say). Waitress has been there a long time and has become short and somewhat nasty lately. we were done in the allotted hour, but had to wait for the check and a half hour after our allotted time, half the dining room was empty. we left the money and tip on the table as she never came back to collect. We were not asking for the best service in the world, but she was miserable with us. as a group, we go out to dinner every Thursday and this has always been one of our favorite places to eat, but we will probably pass on it going forward. read more

I tend to love these little semi dive looking places and Winters Run did not disappoint! We were not sure the place was even open when we arrived but as soon as we walked in we were greeted by a super friendly waitress named Barb. She is my now favorite waitress EVER. The food was amazing and the beer was cold. We did not get the crabs but the crab soup was on point and the tartar sauce and coleslaw is made on site and is excellent!!!!! read more

This was our second time to Winter's run. It's a nice crowd just like cheers. They all knew each other and we got crabsw self Crab and wings. They were both my wings were great self crab not so much. I looked at the bread that had maybe a teaspoon of mayonnaise on it and it just was not up to far. Then we got our crabs. We got the biggest ones they had six of them cause it's only two of us then we're Asian them and my son stopped and I said what's wrong. He said it smells like ammonia. I said well and I smelled it and I said yeah with ammonia so the weight comes over and we tell her she takes the cry back and she says he'll steam you a fresh one so we said OK and if that one didn't come back I'll shoot you so it was two crabs that were bad out of six and another one comes out if you know what ammonia smell is on a crab it is not good so the righteous comes over and she says I don't understand she says everybody else else's crabs were fine. This one's got it. This one guy this one got it and she's going large and I said we got extra large so we didn't wanna make a point you know she was getting to the point where she was not being friendly, it was a bad experience yes but I would probably go back because the crabs are great thank you.P read more

The menu here is rather limited and the service is not the greatest. Server went missing multiple times even though it wasn't busy. We got some crabs and they were just ok. Not very well seasoned and pretty bland. Also got old bay wings and they were soggy and tasteless. I wanted to love this place since it's right around the corner and it's local. read more

Having been a loyal Conrad's patron I was given a glowing review by my Uber driver for this place, and boy he was right. Ordered a dozen medium crabs, sized just about right and with perfect amount of rub for the juicy and tender meat. Steamed shrimp with onions was really great as well, and corn on the cob was excellent. What was not great was the cole slaw so I don't recommend it at all. Come here!! So we were in town and I was looking for Maryland blue crab. Came across this listing and it was close to my hotel. Thought I'd give it a shot and boy am I happy. This place is a dive bar best I can tell and tha crab were amazing. Don't expect anything but real local people enjoying real food and drink. Friendly small town feel hole in the wall place that had surprisingly good food. Staff is nice and hustles. The bar locals are sure to entertain. This place was recommended to me by the staff at the hotel I was staying. It was about a 10 minutes drive away but was told that it would be worth it. They were right. The staff were super helpful and the food was delicious! I had a basket of fries for an appetizer (added old bay) followed by crabs with an ear of corn. So good! read more

I'm throwing this guy a pretty decent amount of stars because its just damn good, and it "works!" We love the steamed shrimp with onions, you gotta get it with the onions! Oh, and the crabs are great too. We also loved the maryland crab soup. It's seasoned so well, and trust me, you will love it. I'm glad this new owner is breathing fresh life into this tiny little spot. It's a neat little place, and even though you might see some Harleys parked out front, do not be alarmed... Most Harley guys these days are yuppies anyway! Park your car, and head on in! Mostly, you'll need a reservation, but there are tables over on the bar side, so go... Just show up and walk right in. Very pleasant experience! I stopped in here for lunch while in town for business. Place is small and definitely a dive bar. Bartender was very friendly, introduced herself and asked for my name. We were so happy when the Covid 19 restrictions were relaxed to where the Winters Run Inn was open, and they sure did a GREAT job with new outdoor picnic tables, and related CDC recommendations. My son and I had been working for quite a few hours outdoors before ordering crabs, the time he got there, I could tell that this outdoor work, plus over 60 hours working at the University of Md. Shock Trauma Center had caught up with my son. I explained this to our fine hostess, she was nice enough to make an exception so we could carry out or pre-ordered steamed crabs. As much as I would have liked to hang out, Winters Run was so understanding. They even said thank you for my son's dedication and service during this very demanding time. I have been going there for with all my friends for over 15 years Kinda a biker bar, but very friendly and comfortable atmosphere. After 15 years, still love the place. But watch who you order from We ordered mozzarella sticks and when were ready to leave asked for another marinara sauce cup. Shelly ( my other new waitress) told us that we had to pay for it? Really? , let me get this straight? We just spent $150.00 for our tab and added 33.3% or $50.00 for a total of $200 and I gotta pay another $1.00 for 1 ounce of a marinara cup. Humm? Really So when I questioned if this was a gag, since we had been joking all day, I was informed, this is real and if wanted to talk to the owner I may, I am not sure about you, but when I dine, I really don't want or expect a confrontation for a cup of marinara sauce. When questioned about this, I was referred to the owner who was not present, I became very embarrassed in front of my friends. So I thought perhaps I could rattle her memory that just 2 minutes ago I gave you $50, so maybe you could handle this complex matter, I was told by Shelly, that I could talk to the owner and when i said i am not sure that may not be necessary, her my $50 tip was appreciated, i guess not huh? Too complex to maybe buy me a $1.00 cup of sauce? 15 years of good will is now in question over a lousy portion of mozzarella stick sauce, I believe if Shelly had been thinking just a little outside the box, she might have paid or given us the cup of mozzarealla suce? I will take this up with owner, since being a patron for 15 years I feel very uncomfortable with referring and bringing my friends ther again However I still like the place and will follow up on my interaction with the actual owner. I work here during the summer but I still wouldn't go anywhere else for crabs! Fresh, meaty and never any light ones.

This restaurant does not look like much from the outside. The inside is somewhat plain, the tables are covered in brown paper and mallets are ready when you say you will be ordering crabs. The crabs are great and reasonably priced. This is a very friendly restaurant. My server could not do enough to take care of me. Other diners were friendly- almost like one big family. read more
