The restaurant is beautifully decorated. There is a full bar in the middle and table seating all around. The staff is nice. We ordered our drinks. When they arrived with rolls and butter, we ordered our meals. Three of us ordered salad (ranch, Balsamic vinegarette and French) and one ordered mushrooms soup. These were served rather quickly and were quite refreshing. Two ordered peirogis (half cheese/half meat and all cheese) , one Polish Plate and one Beef Goulash & Pancakes. Our food was served relatively quickly. Hot, fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed my Beef Goulash & Potatos was not what I thought it would be, but I did enjoy it.

My Polish friend Ewa invited me to be her guest for dinner at Wioletta's Polish kitchen. It was a frosty evening and I was looking forward to a heartwarming meal. It's amazing to see the transformation of the building from a former fast casual restaurant to a cultural and gastronomic experience. The ambience is both "homey" and modern. Window treatments evoke European lace without looking like you're at a grandma's house. White tablecloths bring old world finesse, and there's small decor artfully placed making it feel comfy but not fussy. The bar takes up the center of the room, and their wine, beer and cocktail menus are both fresh and "old school" pleasing everyone in your party. The service was excellent! Classy, with just enough hovering that you never had to wait for a new drink our glass of water. The menu looked great but my knowledge of polish food is minimal. Ewa suggested the combination plate for a little taste of everything! I had to order the Polish Martini. Slightly sweet and served in a cut crystal glass, it was a classy beginning to our meal. My food was amazing! Never tasted such delicious Polish sausage! The stuffed cabbage was my favorite, as well as the little pierogis. I couldn't finish it of course. We turned down dessert after releasing the top button on my jeans. Burp!!!!! Holy moly that was good! Great place to take the family for a celebration or date night. Don't forget to point out your home town in Poland on the huge wall map!

Polish food finally makes a return to the area!! Wiolettas recently opened in an old Applebees off Rawson and we were eager to check it out because we love their deli. The inside is bright and welcoming, with lovely pictures of Polish cities and a very cool metal art map. Menu wise, they've kept it simple (smart) with the classics - pierogies, goulash, etc. Entrees are roughly $15-25 and come with soup or salad. Polish people LOVE soup, for real. So get that - their homemade chicken soup is simple, comforting and very in line with what my grandma made. For a main, I had goulash with potato pancakes and it was delicious!!! The meat was super tender and the pancakes were really good - not overly greasy. It also came with a red cabbage salad (not generally my favorite) which is savory vs sweet. Two thumbs up. The mister had a pork shank which absolutely fell off the bone - served with a giant potato. Again - absolutely delicious! We were way too full for dessert as portions are generous but they have some homemade cakes. Full bar available with Polish beer and liqueurs at reasonable prices. Service was generally good but still finding their groove a bit. I love that this is truly a family operation - moms cooking, dads running food and the kids are hustling. We were told they've been hopping since they opened so consider a reservation. Two big thumbs up from me and no question we'll be back!

We were heading back from Chicago on Saturday night and said "Hey, let's go to that Polish restaurant on the way back to Milwaukee". I looked up the address and previous reviews. We arrived about 7 and were promptly seated. Rebecca was great in answering our questions and offered suggestions. We had the borscht and creamy mushroom for soups - both really good. We shared the sampler and the breaded pork chop. I had a few Polish beers since I wasn't driving. The entrees were great and Milwaukee sized. We shared a strawberry cake and honey wine for dessert - really good! I saw some comments about questionable service - we certainly didn't experience any issues in our visit.

Food is great, traditional flavors from my family homeland and heritage. The service is awesome, and to see the owners working with employees lets ma know tgey care!

Finally got to come with friends tonight. Food was mostly good. Just didn't like the red cabbage salad. I'm used to eat it sweet and sour style served hot. Service was good. Not exactly as how my busia used to cook.

Walking up to the restaurant on a Friday summer evening, the outdoor seating area looked welcoming with a polka band playing but we opted to sit indoors today. The warm wood interior, painted walls and stained glass gave the German beer hall feel you'd expect. We ordered a half liter and our fish dinner of choice. My baked fish and potato pancakes did not disappoint. The cod was flaky and well seasoned while the potato pancakes had a light cinnamon flavor that paired well with the applesauce. Coleslaw and rye bread were exactly as I'd expect. Our server was friendly and the overall service was quick too, even on a busy Friday evening. While we did have reservations, there appeared to be a few extra seats although we were there a little earlier than your usual "dinner rush" time so I'd recommend reservations if you really want to ensure you don't have to wait.

It had a similar texture to a bagel and yes I would order it again! The 20 ounce Leinenkugel Seasonal Porter ($9.75) was cold, dark and wet while disappearing quickly. We went for lunch downtown dining week because I haven't been in years and two friends had never been there before. I didn't make the best meal choice with Reuben rolls and Jager schnitzel. Friend chose the pretzel and the beef goulash which was way better than what I ordered. The Reuben rolls were mostly kraut and very little else so I ate a few bites and was done. The pretzel however was served warm with fried pretzel spears which were very flavorful and hot. Pretzel also came with cheese and mustard. The schnitzel was very bland and as well as the spaetzle. It needed salt and just flavor. I know they cater to a more senior crowd so that explains the salt it yourself. The beef goulash did need some salt but it at least had flavor. Mader's is definitely a tourist destination and should be seen for the novelty of the decor. However if you're looking for good German food I would try another restaurant. Hopefully as the client base ages they can draw in new crowd.

As someone who grew up eating Polish food, this is some of the most authentic cooking I've had in some time. The galumpki was easily the best I've ever had, and both the borsch and the crocket were absolutely out of this world. We also shared a Polish platter, which offered your usual items --Polish sausage, galumpki, sauerkraut, potatoes and pierogi. All very good! Beyond the food, the atmosphere is exactly what I like to see from a family-run business. It has a wonderful, homey supper club feel that makes you want to linger, complemented by a great view that adds to the overall experience. What truly sets the place apart is the personal touch from the owners. They frequently wander throughout the dining room to check in on everyone, often sitting down to chat and making you feel like a guest in their own home rather than just a customer at a table. We're very much looking forward to returning (again!) to explore more of the menu and finally save enough room to try one of their desserts. Sour Rye Soup: Not bad, but honestly, I wouldn't order it again... the fermented sourness was just too direct and intense. Polish Hunters Stew: Apparently a national dish of Poland. The first bite tasted like Italian meat sauce, with a rich tomato flavor and a slight smoky aroma; then I discovered the ingredients included sausage, cured beef brisket, minced meat, and sauerkraut, making it quite substantial and much more satisfying than Italian meat sauce. Overall, it was a rich, sweet and sour flavor, perfect with rice, pasta, or bread. Sauerkraut & Mushroom Pierogi: Dumplings, but the Polish version. The sauerkraut was only slightly sour, refreshing and delicious with the mushrooms, while the sour cream added a touch of creaminess and richness. Unfortunately, the skin was thick and sticky, as if it had been boiled for a long time. For better dumplings skin, please turn to a Northeastern Chinese. Half Duck: Strangely, it reminded me of confit de canard. The meat was incredibly tender, falling off the bone with a gentle pull; the melt-in-your-mouth texture was truly delightful. The cranberry sauce was perfectly balanced between sweet and sour, with a rich fruity and fermented aroma. The rosemary emerged in the aftertaste, enriching the flavors and cutting through the richness. The accompanying sauerkraut was even better than the duck, with a crunchy texture and a mild, pleasant sourness, enveloped in a rich buttery and creamy flavor. The accompanying fpotatoes were also soft and delicious, but the roasted pear was too overpowering in its softness and sweetness, not meeting my expectations for a palate cleanser. Table Bread: The bread itself was unremarkable, but the generous amount of butter was commendable. I cannot believe that there is only one server for all the tables.
