We first contacted Keith about two months ago. We wanted a video system for our house ( five televisions in various locations in our home). Looking to support a local business I first called and left a message-no response. I then went to his office where I explained our project. Keith was very enthusiastic and came out to our home the same day. After that initial meeting it was a complete disaster . Very little response. He did not return any phone calls or make any attempt to contact us. I finally gave up trying to contact him and went to ABT where I received exceptional service and could have the system installed almost immediately. Wired on Bank Lane did a great job on an audio visual system for our master bedroom. It was a complicated installation because all the wiring went above the ceiling, in the walls and in cabinets. Keith recommended a Bose home theatre system that turned out to be perfect for the room. I was most concerned about the installation, and it was very professionally done. Wired on Bank Lane installed structured wiring along with a full house audio video system in our new construction in 2012. The contract was worth well in excess of $50,000. After the initial installation we received reasonable follow up service for about 1 year. Thereafter, the service became hit or miss, and for the past 2 years - complete radio silence. After the first year, we would periodically call to have service performed on their work (remote controls not working properly, network crashing, component upgrades, etc...) and sometimes they would respond but most of the times they would not. And for the past 2 years they basically just stopped returning our calls. Funny thing is we're not calling to complain or demand free warranty work; instead it is to perform work for which we are willing and fully expecting to pay them their standard rates. But still no response. I assume that compared to the initial installation work which probably nets them a healthy profit, the follow up service work is just not worth the effort. What a shame. Keith (owner) seemed like a decent guy, but unfortunately he does not stand behind his work. read more

We recently completed a significant renovation to our home in LF. Upon moving back in, we sought the assistance of Keith and his team to reconnect the rather simple A/V components we have. It took several weeks and repeated calls & emails to hear back from him. When he finally sent someone out to take care of the installation, the guy had no idea what he was doing. What's more, the installer was at the house almost all day, and then tried to charge us for the additional time beyond what had originally been quoted. Ultimately a different installation person had to come back to get everything to work. I have attached before and after photos with this review. Very frustrating. Bought an a-v system, including wi-fi, from them in 2013. All of a sudden, in 2021., following an auto installation of iOS update (14.1?), the WiFi stopped communicating with our "AirPrint " printers. Called Keith at Wired to seek his input--maybe we needed a new router? I sure didn't know. After a short phone call, he promised to get back to me. Never did. I left two messages for him stressing that I was willing to pay for a service call, not looking for a freebie , and still no return call. I have lived in this area for most of my life. In that time, I have had experience with many different levels of service provider. There have been the grifters, the unskilled, the incompetent, the lazy, and the occasional gem. The guys from Wired are 100% the top shelf. Keith took the time to really learn what I wanted and needed, and he proceeded to convince me that I didn't need to spend what I had initially planned on spending. Instead of selling me a bunch of equipment I didn't need, he sold me exactly what I did need, and no more. The installation was on-time and professional. The workers were polite, clean, and VERY knowledgable about their work. Everything was cleaned up and they took the time to show me how everything worked. When there was a problem with some of the equipment, they were out at my house almost immediately to troubleshoot. They worked through a dozen pieces of equipment to isolate the problem and get it resolved. They were singularly focused on getting my system to be perfect. The other reviews on this site do not represent a complete picture with Keith. Though sometimes he can be difficult to get in touch with, he goes out of his way to fit me into his schedule when there's an opening, even well after his normal business hours. He has also gone out of his way to personally visit or send his crew to do work on our place in Lake Geneva. What you get with Keith is experience, tech knowledge, and respect. My husband and I recently relocated to Lake Forest, IL and completed a very extensive home renovation project. Being new to the North Shore area, we needed to find an audio & video technology company to partner with that would help us with our renovation project. This included a complete remodel our home theater room, home sound system, installation of new speakers, updating our audio/video wiring though out, and installation of many new televisions. I had similar experiences to some others here. Initially, Keith came out to assess our home as we were relocating to Lake Forest. He was engaged although confusing with his "rapid speak" and upselling. But it was his follow-up and follow-through that was abysmal. To the point of non-existent. Scheduled appointments resulted in no shows. Phone calls were not returned. Emails ignored. I'm not sure why. But I do know this. Keith is a local business owner and as someone who moved here to open up a local business, I will not be using him for my low voltage needs as I expand. In addition, I'm on a local board of directors which asked my opinion about significantly expanding corporate needs. My advice was not to pursue any quotes or work with Wired on Bank. Finally, my neighbor purchased his 3 million dollar home and was looking to install extensive work (update internet wiring; sound; home theater; intercom/security). I explained my experience with Keith, and so the neighbor went with someone in Lake Zurich instead. Maybe I could consistently be a "no show" for appointments and ignore all forms of communication, but if I was, I'd be out of business like perhaps Keith needs to be. If you don't believe in customer service--get out of the business of serving customers. read more
