I went in and purchased 2 upgrades for our family plan. We purchased an S8 and Iphone 7+. The person behind the counter was in a rush and stayed a bit late to help us which we appreciated at the time. However, we had to come back to pick up the phones. Which we did. The person helping us was too busy to test the phones in front of us and said they were setup and ready to go and that the service was switched from our previous phones to the new phones. When we tried them at home we found out that the Iphone was setup wrong and it took us 2 hours on the phone with Verizon service to correct the problem. Then the insurance was not put on the account even though we had requested it. Finally, our monthly bill was higher then we were told it would be. The contacts and Apps on the S8 were not moved over as I was told they would be. Finally, I called to complain and the person who sold us the phones and the manager were too busy to talk to me and I assume to fix the problems. At the time we bought the phones they were also offering cases at a 25% reduction but didn't have any in stock. Even though I have used this store for many years I would no longer recommend them. Service has gotten worse over the years and at this point we would have done much much better ordering directly from Verizon! read more

I must have caught the employees on an off-day because the person who assisted me was rude and short with me. She refused to look at me when talking (and did check her own phone while 'assisting' me) - she spoke to one word commands and didn't explain anything which resulted in my spending 20 min on the phone w/ Verizon looking for a pin code she claimed I needed, only to discover it didn't exist. They needed the last 4 digits of my SSN and a password but rather than explaining that, she continually barked "it's 4 digits" (in fact, my password is 5 digits but maybe she wasn't counting...). All in all, a needlessly tense and unpleasant experience. She also never said "you're welcome" ONCE despite my thanking her a few times when she finally condescended to explain things. read more

I don't leave reviews but my experience at this local store was so remarkable I'm leaving a one. I don't know his name, I should have asked but if there is an iphone angel he is it. The man working there was so kind, efficient, friendly, polite--I could keep listing descriptions but all the qualities you would hope to find in customer service and NEVER find at a Verizon corporate store. In fact, now that I found this place, if I can help it, I'll never go to one of those place again. I came in with a cracked iphone screen and first he checked to make sure there were no upgrades he could offer me or deals on a new phone. I already knew I had nothing coming to me until next year in the way of a new iphone but I appreciated he tried to find me something. Then, while I was willing to spend money on a new phone, he simply said why don't you have the screen replaced which he had done in an hour. I paid a very reasonable price for the work and my phone looks like new. The otter box he gave me for a fair price and even if he didn't, I wouldn't have minded paying more because this is a local store and an incredibly decent person to interact with in a world of rudeness, disregard for the individual consumer and automated services. I dreaded the idea of having to go to Atlantic Center to have my phone activated and was so happy to find this tucked away location in South Slope. The cute and simple little shop has the flavor of friendly neighborhood business with superior, knowledgeable help that we expect to find in all Verizon customer service centers. I was surprised to receive such caring and quick assistance. I left feeling overwhelmingly impressed and pleased with my experience. It's for sure I will return for all my future cellphone needs/purchases. read more

This is a classic and rare example of a local store for a gigantic corporation where the excellent customer service makes all the difference. For years we dealt with Carla, who was terrific, and she's been replaced by Tina, who is a worthy successor. I am old enough to be their moms but they always treated me so nicely and were so helpful. Like a lot of customers at this store in this nabe, we have a family plan with teen and college kid on it, so it behooves them to make nice to us but in the past, in other stores, we had defiitely gotten the brushoff from salespeople I guess because we are not trendy enough. I love that the young women who have helped us in this store are so customer-oriented, so nice, so knowledgeable, so patient, so helpful. They are cool enough that my kids can relate to them and grownup enough that my husband and I are not embarrassed to ask our questions! They even seem to remember us from visit to visit. Do not buy any products from this shifty unauthorized Verizon dealer in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn, down the block from the famed Farrell's Bar. I have been a loyal customer with this establishment for 19 years. I purchased my first cell phone through them and have since purchased dozens over the years for myself, my husband and my two boys. In January, I used an upgrade to buy an allegedly new iPhone 6 16GB. The phone didn't work properly from the start, missing calls, emails and texts. If I did receive a text, the conversation was not in order; I would have to search the conversation for the response which could have been 10 texts above. I believe they sold me a lemon, a refurbished phone that someone else likely returned. I went to the store and discussed the issues. The customer service person played around with the phone, telling me that I didn't have some important things activated and that it would be fine from then on. Truthfully, the phone "behaved" for the next 6 or 7 weeks until this past week. It became unreliable and temperamental at best. Today, I went back to the store and was met with a rude "customer service" agent I had never before met. His quick response to my dilemma was, "Well, why didn't you bring the phone in sooner?" He received his due backlash and we proceeded to go back and forth for over an hour, terminating with his boss, Al, telling him to have me call him. I left the store, dialed Al no less than 3 times which went into voicemail to a full mailbox. I was unable to leave a message. I marched back into then tore demanding they call Al and let me speak to him, which they did. However, Al didn't have the courage to speak directly to me; he had his minions do the dirty work of telling me, "Too Bad". As per Al, the phone is not under warranty because of a small crack by the home button (it doesn't go near the screen); I would have to outright purchase a new phone or use my insurance. Al sold me a lemon and is refusing to take responsibility. He prefers to lose a long term custoner rather than do the right thing. Wireless Direct was fantastic in setting me up on new Verizon accounts. I previously had AT&T, was frustrated with their lack of customer service and even worse, lack of connection in the area. I'd even have calls dropped when in my office and I work right in midtown Manhattan! Karla answered every question I had (especially about whether Verizon service was strong in the area), provided very helpful information and in general was really nice. I really appreciated her professionalism. She was helping another customer at the same time she was helping me and I was impressed by her ability to efficiently but effectively attend to both of our requests which meant I didn't have to wait a long time before I could get assistance. I was out of the store in fast time and she was helping to set up 3 new wireless accounts! I would definitely recommend anybody to go here to get Verizon help. And I really like the fact that it's a local business. read more

This is the store to go to for all your Verizon Wireless needs. I was eligible for an upgrade on January 12th and wanted to see if this store had a white Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in stock. I called on Sunday, the 5th and spoke to Albert, the store owner and asked if he had the phone. He said that he had a black one but would order a white phone and I would be able to get it on Tuesday, the 7th five days earlier than my upgrade date. I called the store today, the 7th and was told the phone was in. I came over about noon and met Tina, a sales rep who was very pleasant and friendly. She set up the new phone, transferred my contacts, did not try to sell me anything, and told me that I would be able to get 6 GB of data with my upgrade at no additional cost. This was the best cell phone purchase experience I ever had. I didn't have a chance to see Albert but will definitely let him know how pleased I am with my purchase and the excellent service provided by Tina. read more

It might sound like an overstatement but Al and his team restored my faith in humanity and reaffirmed the importance of choosing a small business over a chain whenever possible. After I broke my phone and went to the corporate store to get an upgrade which I was due for they told me that my options were to live without a phone for 2-3 weeks or "upgrade" to my existing phone b/c they didn't have an iPhone 6 in stock. Thanks to Yelp, I found Al, and he--wait for it--offered me a LOANER PHONE while we waited for the 6 to come in. Now of course it's smart business--he gets the sale--but it's also based on person-to-person communication and a business owner who is empowered to make his own choices about how to serve his customers. Not to mention he transferred my info twice, kept in contact with me about when the new phone was arriving, was patient when I couldn't come in right away, etc. etc. Basically, he was a human being, I was a human being, and it ALMOST made me feel compassionate for the angry woman at the Atlantic Center who seemed to take sadistic pleasure in my lack of options. I'm positive if she worked for Al she'd be much happier and more helpful! read more
