They did a great job with my first call - but it was a relatively straightforward attic fan that turned out to have a burnt out motor. These guys were assigned through our home warranty company and man am I glad they were. Donnie and his helper came out on a Friday right before they closed. They stayed after normal business hours to diagnose the problem (melted breakers in a then busted electrical panel), and they took their time to thoroughly explain everything to me. Both Donnie and his helper (Tyler) were so friendly and knowledgeable. The best part of this is, even tho we were without a/c, oven, and w/d for 10 days, Donnie came to us on a Saturday (he was booked during that week) - a day they're not open - to fix our panel. I canceled the work order that I had...set up by AHS. "Wirenuts was supposed to contact me the next business day". They sent me an email at 9:16 asking what was wrong. I replied with my phone number and asked if someone could call me. I also gave a brief description of the issue. They never called me back...but did send me a text....asking what was wrong. I replied to call me.....they never did. I then text what was wrong.....no reply. I attempted to call their office number three times throughout the morning, no one answers. I attempted to call the number the text came from...but it does not receive calls. I went to look on AHS website and Wirenuts put "Unable to reach you - please contact contractor"....What a lie....I have had my phone next to me the entire morning and also trying to reach them. I spoke to AHS and they said the contractor called me about 0830.....I told AHS and I will say it again....that is a flat out lie. I have no desire to do business with someone that starts out lying. I also told AHS to not question my integrity about the call because that is one thing I do have....high integrity. read more

I had a light fixture in my stairs foyer break from it's bracket and stop working. Home owner warranty sent this awful company. First off they told me there was power getting to the light so it wasn't electrical and wouldn't be covered but that they can give me a quote. They told me because of its location they would need to build scaffolding to get to it. I was quoted 300 at first. Then was told 300 to 500. Then when I called back the lady who did they scheduling said 600 at minimum but might be more depending on how long it takes. Another company came and fixed the problem the next morning for 250 dollars. They did not need to build scaffolding (they used a special ladder) and they also told me there was NO power to the light (so wire-nuts flat out lied to me and to my home owner insurance). First visit: technician seemed uncertain and suggested he come back outside of warranty and install a device for $150 COD that supposedly warranty didn't cover. Second visit: device installed, money paid, problem returned within hours of "repair". Third visit: another technician came, couldn't find problem and indicated he didn't really have time to look further. Nothing accomplished. Entire circuit still shut down 2 weeks from the first outage....wirenuts put me on phone with a "master electrician", who told me to go in the crawl space and take a picture of something. Really?? Isn't that THEIRjob? Informed him I wouldn't do that, and he became angry and began yelling at me. Fortunately our warranty company agreed to transfer to another electrician. I would never use this company again. Update 6/8/18 MW Butler Electric came today and discovered the problem was an exterior outlet on same circuit had gone bad. They replaced it and everything is working normally again. Btw wirenuts had insisted the problem was a/c related....had we replaced the a/c part they recommended, we would have spent hundreds and still have the same problem. read more

Wire Nuts was dispatched a service call from our home warranty provider for a parts failure. The ceiling fan wireless remote receiver stopped working and the problem was reported to the office and through the online claims portal.The scheduling and office communication was good; the tech was not. After repair of the new part, the tech reported that he did not have the proper replacement parts and he had installed his own, personal replacement equipment. He asked for $40 in reimbursement and noted that a trip to Home Depot to pick up the actual replacement part would have been $65 (covered by the warranty). After having installed the replacement parts (the tech's personal), he stated that he could leave them installed for the $40 or remove them and come back another day with the actual parts covered by warranty. This is a damn good company. They are a default for electrical work from my home warranty company. I would use them outside of warranty work as well. Affordable, reliable and honest. They are worth the wait. Extremely efficient and are able to patiently explain issues and gaps. They have always provided great recommendations. Most of this is mainly for Donnie. AHS does not set up appointments and that is what they told me. Called back and left a message and missed their call back. Left 3 different messages but no response after. Wire "NUTS" is a very apt and fitting name. completely unprofessional. Came once to repair outlets, said outlets are working. I had to call them back because the outlets still didn't work. The tech tried to charge me again for coming back when it should have been fixed in the first place. The tech was extremely upset and stormed out of the house. DO NOT hire this business for any job! Our experience went well beyond gross negligence. The technician who came out replaced a contactor in our septic pump control panel and wired it wrong, resulting in the destruction of our brand new septic pump (both a licensed electrician and a licensed plumber came out after and agreed that he had screwed up the installation). IT GETS MUCH WORSE! When I asked to file a claim under their liability insurance, they refused. When I asked for the electrician's license number, they refused. When I asked what they would do to fix what their technician had broken, they said they would do nothing. When my wife called back, they were exceptionally rude and used language I can't post here! Unbelievable. We didn't hire them, by the way, they were appointed by our home warranty provider, HMS. Their failure to correctly install a $30 part has cost us thousands to remedy. I have filed a complaint with the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation and will be filing suit as well. Stay well clear of this business. Wayne came to my place at 6:00 am this morning. He fixed my ceiling fan in 20 mins and answered some of my questions about electrical work. He was right on time which allowed me to get to work on time. Also this was through American Home Shield which I have had problems with other vendors but this one turned out to be great. read more

Donnie was great-he not only replaced a faulty GFI, but he explained that my automatic sprinkler system control box probably caused the GFI to fail. He was right that if failed several times already. Based on his advice, I will now put the control box on a different circuit. Kudos. read more

I put in a service request with AHS warranty for a ceiling fan that was spinning very slowly and they assigned Wirenuts for the repair. Note that I already knew it was a bad capacitor causing the issue. The electrician arrived on time as promised but that's when things starting going downhill. He did his so-called diagnosis by simply turning on the fan and as soon as he saw it was spinning, he went outside to call AHS so they could authorize the repair, however he reported to them that the fan was working because it was "spinning". And AHS being the scam that it is declined to pay for the repair because apparently they'd cover the repair only if the fan or any appliance completely stopped working. So not only did I pay the service fee to essentially have an electrician tell me what I already knew(bad capacitor), I have a ceiling fan that is still not working as expected. I thought it was outrageous that the electrician would report that the fan was working just because it was "spinning". It doesn't matter if it was spinning slowly, bottomline it was not functioning as expected and was blowing almost no air to be of any use. Its like saying a refrigerator is in proper working condition because it is "somewhat" cooling. I already knew not to expect much from AHS warranty but I was disappointed that Wirenuts was essentially an accomplice to this scam. The electrician should have done the right thing and reported to AHS that the fan was not working. How anyone could get away with such terrible customer service is beyond me. Anyway it told me they cannot be trusted to do the right thing and I'll not be seeking their service again. It was also the last straw and I ended up cancelling the AHS contract. read more

I set up an appointment five days in advance and was given an 8-10 am time frame. I received a call thinking they were at my house at 930 saying they couldn't make my appointment because of snow we received three days prior. I understand that people need to reschedule but at least give some notice so I don't miss a day of work. read more

Avoid this business. They were referred to us by home warranty service to replace attic fan motor. Job was completed improperly resulting in noise and vibration. Of a more serious note, a protective screen was not re-installed which resulted in quite a bit of squirrel damage in the attic. After a third visit, Wirenuts refused to accept responsibility for the damage even though they were not able to find an alternate explanation for how the squirrels gained access to the attic. read more

You know how when you call an office and talk to someone and realize that the person answering the phone is trying to be nice, but you can tell that they loathe answering the phone because they know you are going to have a complaint or ask a question, and they know they are going to have to tell you something that you don't want to hear -- because they've done it 1000 times? This is that sort of office. This company was contacted to service our electrical needs through our American Home Shield contract. They were contacted on 9/18 and a technician could not get to my home until 9/26 between 1 - 5pm. I called at 12:00 and spoke to someone in their office to make sure they had my office and my cell phone number. They assured me I was the next call and that the technician would call me when he was on his way. and they told me I was next on the list and that the technician would call me when he was on the way. When I hadn't heard from them by 3:45 I called the office again. The woman I spoke to contacted the electrician and he told her that he had tried to call me on my cell, and my office phone but I did not answer. He said he waited from 2:18 - 2:42 and then left. I explained to her that neither my cell or my office phone has a record of any phone call on my phone log, nor did he leave a message. I asked when he could return and she said she would have the office manager call me back. 90 minutes later and the manager has not called, so I contacted AHS to explain that I was dissatisfied with the Wirenuts customer service. Roselyn from AHS contacted the company and they told her the same thing they told me and said they could not be back at my property until 10/4. I told AHS to cancel the call and that we are requesting another electrician. They contacted Certified Electrical Technologies of Rockwell, VA who said that they can come to our home by 9/28. Note to Wirenuts Professional Electrical Service Inc: If you are too busy to service customers, hire more electricians. If you can't afford to hire more electricians, stop taking new business. If you hire electricians that have no follow-through, or who lie to you, hire better electricians. You are losing customers that had you taken good care of them, they may hire you directly to do other jobs. The more direct jobs you can take without the discounted fees that AHS pays you, the sooner you can stop relying on them for business. read more

We had a 8:00am to 10:00am service call well it started to snow around 8:00am so we called at 8:30 to make sure they were coming, first we talked to some girl who was just RUDE and stated that they will decide in about half hour so at 9:00am they would decide if they will show up for a 8am to 10am appointment we canceled the call, just before 9:00am we get a call from some guy who stated he was the owner and it was not safe to go out, he lives 11 mins. from our house and there was just a trace of snow, when we stated this he cursed at my wife and made stupid threats if we write bad reviews. We had some electrical issues that needed to be evaluated. This was the first time we had this company provide service and we are glad that we did. The Electrician was Donnie who was very professional, friendly and graced us with a warm smile that made us feel comfortable. He even placed on shoe covers which was so very important to us since our carpets are white. He knew just what our electrical problems were after quick trouble shooting and was able to resolve some of our issues with a few recommendations. Not only did he fix the issue but he also spent the time to educate us on safety. This company is awful! They contacted me through my home warranty claim to fix a broken smoke detector. They couldn't come out for a week. Then the appointment they gave me was on a day when I had another commitment earlier in the day. They gave me a time slot of 1-5. I told them I wouldn't be home until 2. They said they would make a note and the technician would call me 30 mins before he arrived. On the day of the appointment he called at 11:30 said he was done with his other jobs early and would come then. I told him I wouldn't be home until after 2. He said ok and hung up. I came home at 1:45 to a note on my door saying the technician came at 1:00 and I wasn't home. Then when I called the office the woman said they made note of my conflict but couldn't necessarily honor it! They said they would contact the technician and see if he could come back. When I heard nothing back I called and they said I would have to reschedule. I told them I would not be needing their services and called my warranty company for new company. This company is awful and very misleading. Stay away! read more
