I was very happy to find Deer Park open this last weekend. Now a couple of things to know about the pre-season. 1. They only take cash - no credit cards. 2. There is an ATM in the gift shop area in case you don't have cash, it will have a line. So bring cash. 3. The deer food stands are closed in the park. 4. The deer food machines that take quarters are filled and work. (I did find one broken across from the Lama's) 5. You can get a roll or two of quarters from the ticket station. (Remember cash only) Pro-tips: * The deer like the corn/deer feed over the crackers. Buy one pack of crackers to feed the goats and Bison when you enter. * use your quarters to buy deer feed from the vending machines. Was in the dells and drove past this place a few times and i thought it would be cool to try. Me and my girl went, she was a little scared of feeding the animals but I enjoyed feeding them and petting them. I had never been this close to deer before and I loved it. We walked in about an hour before they closed, they were friendly and accommodating. Got our tickets and a box of crackers to feed them. I didnt realize they had more than just deer, quite a few different animals. Fun experience, maybe a little spendy but i always assume that in vacation areas. read more

Hands down, the best experience my son and I had during our (first) trip to the Wisconsin Dells! My son and I absolutely love any close encounter experiences with animals, and this did not disappoint. The property is very serene and nicely maintained, and the deer seem genuinely happy, well cared for, and healthy. There is a wide variety of animals here besides deer, but the deer and goats are the only animals accessible to really hand feed. Swedish Wasa crackers are the only feeding option here, but the deer seem to love it! I believe we paid $8 a bag, and we got 4 bags, which lasted us through the entire park if you break each cracker into smaller pieces to feed. You walk through a nice nature loop, and the deer will often follow you. When the deer get full, they will retreat and lay down to a safe space. We seemed to come at a (perfect) slower time, around 2 pm, so we didn't have to deal with tons of other people, which was nice. There is a very nice gift shop where you pay entrance to the park. There is taxidermy on the walls, but they are former animals that used to live on the property. The employees were very nice and seem to very much love the animals here. In my opinion, this is the best money and experience you can have in the Dells, and my son and I cannot wait to come back! read more

Cute, short, walkable loop with lots of deer and a few other animals in enclosures. The staff was very pleasant, and overall it was a nice experience. Admission is $18 per person fair, but feels a little high for what it is. It would be great if admission included one pack of animal crackers to feed the animals, with the option to buy more if you'd like. Probably a "one and done" kind of visit, but still a sweet outing. read more

This place is fun especially with young kids. Deer petting and feeding is the highlight. When entering, we can buy crackers, which is $8 per package. Deers don't like the crackers all that much, though it eats it once in a while. Once inside, there are corn vending machines which accepts ONLY quarters. Keep quarters ready. Deers love the corn. It loves to eat it from hand. Horse and goat is happy to eat the crackers. Other animals like peacock don't care as much about food. read more

What a perfect place to connect with nature in the midst of a lot of big attractions! This place was just our style. Affordable, quiet and clean. So many deer & other animals to see. If you are visiting Wisconsin Dells this is great for the whole family. However - my best advice don't buy the deer food in the gift shop. The deers really want the corn from the quarter feeders throughout the park. Just take a ton of quarters! Per usual, the Dells is always an amazing place but this place right here is the best part about it. And no, I did not go with kids haha. I love animals but usually feel bad when I go to most zoos as I can usually see that there are some struggling animals that do not look happy to be there. But that was not the case at this deer park. Now, I am not trying to say they are necessarily PETA approved but, the deers looked very healthy and happy and were more than willing to come up to me (probably just to get some food not because they love me, sigh. . .). There's also more than just a variety of different breeds of deer here (including some foreign deer). There are also small creatures like in the picture I attatched as well as horses, goats, and more! I would 100% come back here again! This place looked appealing as I approached it, so I gave it a try. I walked through the Entrance with my significant other. We approached the Tickets desk and Admission for General was $16. Ticket Sales Include Tax. We went through the Entrance door and started our adventure. The first thing I encountered was the Ringtailed Lemur display. There were two Lemurs and they sure did seem mischievous. Right next to that was the Emu display. I saw two Emus in there and they were large! The American Elk Duke was beautiful. It was astonishing to look at. They even had more American Elk in a different enclosure that were just as beautiful. After that, I checked out some Deer. I saw the White Fallow Deer, Black Fallow Deer, White Tail Deer, and Spotted Fallow Deer. I loved them all! I checked out the American Bison Mini & Pearl display. They didn't seem too happy to be in there, so that instantly saddened me. This place had a White-Tailed Deer Refuge with so many Deer. It seemed to be a giant enclosure. I didn't care for seeing those beautiful Deer being restricted. The Racoons and Rabbits were great to see. They were all in small enclosures, so that was terrible. The Peacock display was cool to see, but it wasn't too big. I spotted three and I think they needed more space to roam around in. They were gorgeous, though. The service wasn't pleasant here and it definitely wasn't friendly. The employees had snarky attitudes. Overall, it was nice to stop and see the animals, but that was about it. I enjoyed seeing them all, but they deserve a better environment. Admission was a bit steep for what you get. I probably won't go back here. Date of visit: 07/10/24 read more

We always make an annual trek to deer park. This year was different. The Whitetails were in an enclosed fenced area (you could feed them thru a fence) with the Fallow Deer roaming both sides of the park. I understand it was for safety reasons. It was still an enjoyable visit, we did see a couple of newborn fawns in the fenced off area and got plenty of pictures. read more

It wasn't crowded at all. We spent a good amount of time here, just feeding animals. It's a good place to visit. I'm not sure about bringing kids unless they're well behaved. The unruly ones can scare away the deer. Ample parking lot. Prices are reasonable. read more

This is a cute little park that has more than just deer. They have peacocks, emu, bison, moose, turkeys, horse, goats, llamas, lemurs and elk, in addition to their many species of deer. The park has a huge private parking lot with free parking and a huge gift shop that you have to go through to enter and exit the park. When you pay your admission fee, they will offer deer food at an additional cost. I highly suggest getting it to get the full experience. I would say one or two would be ample. They also have some other food that you can purchase in the deer habitat, in an ice cream cone, for a buck, but it must be cash. The deer went crazy for that stuff. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. The grounds has a picnic shelter with tables under it and some other picnic tables placed right outside the deer habitat. But that is odd because you cant bring any food in the area. You will see some huge animals figures like a rabbit and moose that are begging for photo ops. Just outside the deer habitat you will find a goat pen, the horse stable and the lemurs. You will also find the huge bird cage in the area, right next to the restrooms, where you will find some awesome peacocks, and some chickens. There is also a hand sanitizing station and two restroom facilities located pre-deer habitat. When you walk through the gate just past the lemurs, you have entered the deer habitat. That is where all the magic happens. The deer are free to roam and will walk right up to you, especially if you have food. Some deer are fenced off, but a lot of them are free roaming. Don't worry, they don't bite. My 3 year old was feeding them with no issues and he is scared of his own shadow. This is the area that you will also find the llama, turkey, bison, moose and emu, but they are obviously fenced off. The free roaming ones can dip off into a fenced area if they don't want to be bothered or they can walk right up to you. They have European Fallow Deer, Japanese Sika Deer and White Tailed Deer back there. A saw a few that had spots and reminded me of Bambi. If you do not have any feed with you in here, then you are really missing out. This is a nice attraction that gives you the opportunity to get up close and personal with deer (they are harmless and not shy). i would set aside an hour or two for a visit here. I was here about an hour and a half and left before the crowd started to pour in. This park is reasonably priced and my family and I enjoyed our time there. I highly recommend checking out this joint during your next Dells excursion. read more

The Wisconsin Deer Park, at first blush, seems like it'd be something to just cruise right on past while in The Dells... then you realize how long they've been there and you think "Hm... maybe worth checking out?" Spoiler: It is! I was certainly hesitant, thinking "It's not going to be better than a legit zoo." But I can admit when I am wrong. The Deer Park is def worth a visit. Go early (when the animals are hungry and the crowds are subdued) and enjoy being SWARMED by animals that show absolutely zero aggression (other than maybe some pushiness). In fact, if things get too close all you have to do is hide the food and they lose interest. This spot is fun for all ages and you can easily spend a good hour or more just roaming around feeding and viewing the plethora of animals. They also have two different kinds of food but if you get there early the standard food will work just fine. Add this spot to your list of attractions while in The Dells and I think it'll be something you'll remember for years to come. read more

We visited the Wisconsin Deer Park and spent a total of 2 whole hours there! It was so much fun with tons of great photo opportunities! Well worth the price of admission ($14)! They have a large fenced area where several types of deer are allowed to roam freely and interact with park visitors without barriers. We can feed them and pet them for as long as we wish! It was really enjoyable to feed so many deer using our bare hands! They never bit us and were super gentle with our fingers, if you're worried! They also had many animals (bunnies, raccoons, lemurs, peacocks, emus, ostriches, elk, buffalo, etc.) in fenced enclosures. Although you could not pet them like the free-roaming deer, you could still admire them and feed them, which was fun too. The deer feed sold at the check-in station (and online?) came in the form of rye crackers. Each package was sold at $4, which seems expensive, but the crackers go a long way and it's actually a good value for your dollars! They also sell $1 feed cups inside the park, which is a decent value too. They are not open year round (because it gets so cold in Wisconsin), so make sure to check when they are open before you head over! read more

I love this place. A must go to anytime I am in the Dells. First went here in the early 70s. For me feeding the deer is very relaxing. They do have places to sit along the way. Bring quarters in case you run out of food that you can buy when you pay for admission. These deer and goats know who has the food and are not dumb. The staff is wonderful as well. This place was cute. A bit overpriced and some animals were kept in cages smaller than you see at the zoo (especially the lemurs, so sad. At the zoo by my house they have an open island they live on, this was so small. The deer are super sweet and some even had babies. There were tons of species and every animal looked well cared for. What a fun place for all ages! You get to feed goats, deer and even a long horn if you can get the crackers far enough through the fence for the poor guy. The deer prefer the cones with the corn inside, they'll run right to you but some enjoyed the crackers you can buy in the store as well. You'll see a handful of other animals as well on your journey through the park. Overall we had a great time. read more

This was a really fun and interactive place for our son. Ironically it was also pretty fun for my wife and I as well. They had a pretty good variety. And the deer basically roam the park. It was a really fun experience. There are some other animals on site ex elk, goats, birds, horses. The only thing I may suggest, is maybe a tiny bit more variety. Forget tv screens and technology, give your child a taste of nature. *definitely go in the morning, before crowds form. We went at about 10a.m. and it was perfect, not too busy. This park contains mostly different varieties of deer, but there is also goats, raccoon, rabbits, bison, horse, fowl and elk that can be fed. You enter the gift shop to purchase your tickets. At the same time, you can also buy packages of crackers to feed the animals. They are $6 per package of 10-12. Typically one package per person is enough. Be careful the goats will grab the package out of your hand if you're not paying attention! There are also cones filled with corn feed that you can purchase for $1. The deer in the back part of the park exclusively like these and will not eat the crackers you offer them. Most of the animals are in cages, but some of the deer roam free and will come up to you as you walk around. There are restrooms by the goats and up by the gift shop. Had a lot of fun! We were only able to feed a few as a lot were skittish or scared, probably due to all the running and excited children. The park is really clean and neat to walk through. Staff is very friendly. I recommend doing this on a weekday when it won't be as busy or first thing when they open so it's not super hot for you or the animals. This was the first place our 8 year old son wanted to visit during our trip. He loves animals and loves having up-close interactions with them. Many people complained that it is expensive, however it takes a lot to maintain. So, 4 dollars for a box of crackers is high but $6 for bottled water at the hotel is far more of a crime. It seems to be going for a good cause. The more children (and adults) have the opportunity to interact with other animals the better. It makes for a more peaceful and loving world. read more

Visiting the Deer Park is such a fun, lighthearted way to spend an afternoon! It's such a lovely atmosphere; there are different types of deer from around the world just roaming around or sunning themselves that you can feed or pet. Many of the deer have spent their lives around humans and are just looking for a treat so most of them will let you pet them and feed them the crackers or corn from vending machines scattered throughout. There are little fawns following their mamas if you search around. I went with my husband but I'm sure it's a blast for kids too! There's a cute little petting zoo with other animals to see as well. What an awesome experience! My partner and I had a wonderful 2 hours here. In that time, we were able to walk around the park about 1 1/2 times, but we stopped a lot. We met many friendly and hungry deers, of different varieties as well (white tail, brown deer, white --possibly albino?) deer, etc. We each bought the deer food (Wasa crackers) and got 2 cups each of the feed. The deer seemed to love the feed the most (corn and pellets), but some did enjoy crackers-- many seemed to prefer the feed over crackers. I loved being able to interact with the deer-- they ate out of our hands and followed us around if we had corn in our hands. And finally, we got to see llamas, goats, emus, various birds, horses, and other animals. It was an awesome addition to our vacation in the Dells!
