After working from my hotel room on a Tuesday, I left to get some fresh air. I had a couple of hours to spare before my dinner reservation and decided to try a different Caribou Coffee location. I did a search and found this one in Richfield. It has a drive-thru. It's fairly narrow. If you drive a pickup truck, you may want to consider parking it and walking into the cafe. I was driving a Jeep rental and it was fine. Drive with caution. I had a nice man take my order. I provided my cell number associated with my perks. I ordered a large sparkling cherry limeade. I then proceeded to the pickup window. Normally, Caribou Coffee stores have their payment machines attached to long sticks at drive-thrus. Each one is different. I had a horrible experience at the closest one in Bloomington to the hotel where I was staying. The man did not have the machine on a stick and held the machine for dear life, expecting me to use it without prying it from his hands, dead or alive.. At first, I thought that I'd get the same experience here when I didn't get the long stick with the payment machine. Instead, the man took my credit card and swiped it. He didn't ask whether I wanted to tip. He said that he entered zero as the tip. I was a bit disappointed. I like to tip and I wanted to. Ugh! He gave back my credit card and handed my drink over. I was happy. I wished him a great evening and drove over to a parking spot to take a sip. I love every sparking tea flavour that Caribou Coffee offers. However, I may love the cherry limeade slightly more than the rest these days. I love the sweet-tart combination of cherries and limes. The carbonation made my day after spending time training two new folks joining my team. It was a nice spot to get a drink. I will return and enter the cafe. Im not usually someone who makes reviews on any company because it makes a difference any individual time or day. However I couldn't make myself not write a comment on a sweet girl who has helped me the last few times. Carribu has its ups and downs as far as service is concernered, but Emily at Lyndale and west 66th has been so extremely sweet and helpful. They we're slammed this morning and somehow Emily was calm and charismatic as far as my order was concerned. Never had a reason to come here until a friend wanted to go. I don't do anything in Richfield, so.. The food and service were nice. I'd never had an Einstein Bagel before and it reminded me of what Bruegger's used to be. Bagels are supposed to be chewy, not kept in the purse as a weapon. I had my obligatory skim Chai that was accompanied by the bagel and lox. I'm not Jewish, yet have eaten a lot of this, growing up on New York. You know how it is. It was delicious. There are a couple downsides to this location. First, parking can be a challenge. It's in a hub, so you might have to circle a bit to get a spot. Yes, there are spaces labeled for retail, yet this is a popular place, from what I saw. The second downside is the wide, open space that it is. This is not good when you have an Eddie Murphy laugh that comes out after your friend tells you how her boss gave her yet another cheap trinket as a reward for good work (and you guessed what it was before she said a word). Four reasons why I was disappointed with my visit here and will not return. 1. The store was a mess. It was very dirty. 2. I couldn't pay using your app. The GM said that this location always has trouble with iPhones 3. My sandwich was cold. 4. This is what really set me off. There were two milk/creamer containers that weren't marked. I went to the counter to ask for cream, and the lady with a braided ponytail says to me in a condescending tone, "We only have cream out there." Since they weren't marked and I'm lactose intolerant, I wasn't taking the chance. This locationed failed on all counts, so there is no need to spend my money here again. read more

Oh no, what have you done? I was told they no longer allow personalized orders after I ordered a plain bagel with egg, bacon and swiss so I ordered a plain bagel with bacon, egg, and cheddar off the menu board. Turns out the switch is because they no longer make to order toasted bagel sandwiches. What I got was clearly pre-made and heated in some kind of microwave or similar. It was terrible- rubbery bagel and even worse bacon. Huge downgrade on food that at least used to seem freshly prepared. read more

Love this place.... stopped at the drive through for a latte and realized after ordering I had only my phone to pay and left my wallet at home. They patiently tried to get the Apple Pay to work but it wasn't - I was going to leave without my latte and apologize for the inconvenience when the manager with all smiles told me to have a great day and she would take care of it... handed me a delicious beverage with a smile. Update: changing down to a 1 star. I gave this location so many chances, probably 20. Average wait time in drive through has been 12 minutes. Parking and going in has been no faster. Get more staff, this is ridiculous. Love the coffee and food. Love how nice everyone is... BUT the drive thru wait time is insane. I just want a coffee on the fly in the rush hour time. These sandwiches take forever in the drive thru. I've parked and gone in and it's not any faster. Staff this better for peak hours! I'm a coffee lover but not devoted to a brand, I'd rather drive somewhere else to get it faster than keep hoping you get this together. read more

3 strikes and they're out. 1st visit in the drive thru. They got my order wrong and the employee dropped my change all over the ground without an apology. 2nd visit I went inside. I had a coupon for a free birthday sandwich. The manager had to assist the cashier because she was new. The manager had no problem rolling her eyes and explaining how much a pain the coupons were. 3rd and LAST visit in the drive thru. Rude customer service and I was overcharged. Very nice staff, great selection of bakery items, sandwiches and bagels. Our order came out quickly and everything was fresh, we used our perks to pay so this time around our drink and bakery were on the house. It was a real nice treat! I had a negative experience at this location on March 18th. Due to my experience I went ahead and contacted the company that evening. I have not heard any response. My letter to them, which further explains the situation is below. "Today I went in to order a canteen of coffee. When I arrived the store appeared quite busy, so when I ordered I asked if was possible to do a canteen and was told yes and quoted five minutes. I arrived somewhere around 10:30 and waited in line for a few minutes. At 10:50 I looked at the time because it felt like it had been awhile since I ordered, though I don't know the exact amount of time that had passed. I decided to continue waiting as the store was busy. At 11:04 I decided to finally ask what was going on as it had now been at least 15 minutes since I was ordered and was quoted five minutes. The staff I asked said my order would be right up. At 11:14 my canteen order finally came up. I realize that a canteen can take longer and would have called ahead had I known I needed one in advance, however over 25 minutes is unacceptable. In the future I will be using other coffee establishments for my group coffee needs unless you are able to explain what happened and how this will be prevented in the future. Thank you." read more

Ive given in 4 tries and its just not getting better. The wait is bad - unless you come at 630 am. What's been most frustrating is 2/4 times Ive had to ask for my food after it seemed everyone who paid after me had theirs. Im not sure why that keeps happening. I really love the concept but when Im in a hurry on a workday this just wont cut it. Ive seen other places twice as busy and the wait time half as long. I love the convenience of the drive-thru, but it has been SUPER slow regardless of if I go through the DT or walk in. I've tried several times to stop here for my morning coffee before work since it's much closer to my place than the Lyndale Starbucks, but it's made me late on every occasion. I was going to give it a 3 because of every one I've come through the drive-thru, I have had to wait quite a while and I'm always late for work. But the customer service is great! The cashier at the drive-thru is always so bubbly and friendly! And of course, someone telling you that you look beautiful is always a great way to start the morning! A clean, well run restaurant. The partnership of Caribou and Einstein's is A OK, although it does bring about a limited food menu. Excellent Veg Out sandwich on multi grain bun, with good vegetables and a tasty sauce. The standard choice of Caribou beverages, including, on a hot summery day, iced tea. Adequate seating. I live only a couple blocks away from this coffee and bagels spot and come in about twice a week. Employees are usually pretty nice and caribou did a great job with the interior decor. That company really knows how to market themselves, that's for sure. Place is always clean, standard caribou music at a good volume, nice bathrooms, and fun chalk board. I see other reviews complain about slow service- although there have been a few times where I've had to wait a little while for my bagel, I've had overall good experiences with placing and receiving my order. They messed up my order once and gave me a free bagel for the next time. 4 stars because of how friendly and outgoing the staff are! read more

The drive thru is always so slow and they can never hear the order correctly but then don't ever repeat it back to correct any mistakes. There are really only 3 employees that are pleasant to deal with and are able to complete an order correctly. The others are snotty and rude when you let them know they got something wrong. read more

I love this location and get along great with all of the co workers. The only down side is a worker Staci who always has a poor attitude and makes me not want to come in. This Caribou is the worst. There is no consistency. I only order one drink. Every time I get it, it tastes different. For awhile I only ordered tea. They even messed that up. All employees should be retrained on how to make a drink and the meaning of light ice. My cold press is 3/4 ice. I said LIGHT ice. This establishment is hustling their customers. Don't put money on your perks, it doesn't work and you'll be forced to pay cash. So they're giving us less and less coffee but taking more and more money. Half of the workers have terrible attitudes too. I used to love caribou with a passion. My heart is broken and I'm never going back. I'll be bringing my money to Dunn Bros. Caribou used to be preferred coffee shop. No more. When Caribou added Einstein bagel, it became unbearably slow to stop for a cup of coffee. It is not just sometimes, it is all the time. And it is not just at one specific Caribou/Einstein's, it is at every one I have tried. I keep going back because I really like the new remodeling they have done. It is a super comfortable and enjoyable space. The only time I go to Caribou now is when I need to spend time working. If I only need a cup of coffee, I will find another shop. read more

Every time we go to the location my mother orders same drink every time and every time its wrong and they decide to get smart and on day they told us " Oh , sorry it is made a certain way from a.m. to p.m." I just don't get how does the same drink get made different ways throughout the day. We have gave them so many chances it's getting to be unreal. They also say what are still waiting her for we she have gave us what we payed for and it also take 20 minutes to make my drink ugh.
