This place rocks! I went here on a date with my beautiful girlfriend for lunch Valentine's Day weekend and was really hyped by the recommendations I've heard from her friends. When arriving we was greeted by what I think was the owner. He asked us if we were picking up or dining in. We decided to dine in and was allowed to sit really wherever we liked. We chose a nice table near the wall and was greeted by the bartender/waiter. Super chill guy and gave us recommendations on the wings to order. We went with the barbecue wings and the Alabama sauce wings. Boy o Boy were these the spotlight of our meal. They were wonderfully coated and cooked well. A nice crispy bite and moist chicken in the middle. We cleaned our bones with nothing left to spare and even made our waiter put in an order for himself. We then ordered our sandwiches but was unfortunately left wanting more. I ordered a chipotle Mayo chicken and bacon sandwich and I felt that the bread overpowered a lot of the flavor which I felt was lacking. My girlfriends sandwich was much better than what I ordered. It had ham, Mac n cheese bites, and some other goodies which made it have a much more impactful bite and punch of flavor when chewing. Overall a very enjoyable experience and hope to go back there next time I visit Oneonta. I plan to try another sandwich and hopefully I have a better experience with my selection. Came up to visit college and was disappointed to find that there was no in person dining anywhere. My daughter and I settled on a sandwich in the car. Boy we're we happy we did! We split a large Easy Rider sandwich and fries. The sandwich was humongous, the bread was grilled and toasty, the chicken was juicy and tender, the sauce was spicy but not overbearing, a perfect sandwich!!! This place is pretty great. Their bread is homemade and I was surprised by how high the quality was of the ingredients: they use romaine and red onions rather than the shredded iceberg and white onions that I expected. I got the small Josh.0 for delivery and it took maybe 15-20 mins to get to SUCO, which was good. Can't wait to order again. read more

My wife and I took my nephew and roommate for lunch on a recent Saturday. We each selected a sandwich from the special board. My wife enjoyed her reuben w fries $14. I selected the Judge, an homage to Aaron Judge for $16.62. Combination roast beef, horsey sauce, bacon maybe? Idk. There was a long list of ingredients but it was just meh. None of them stood out. Long story short we dropped $80 on lunch for the 4 of us and no one was drinking. Good, casual atmosphere with some day drinkers at the bar and playoff baseball on behind the bar. Bartender who took care of us was efficient and attentive. Good selection of craft beer on tap and in the cooler but a bit overpriced on the sandwich board. Disappointed. Not only was the price outrageous, but when I went in, staff were not wearing masks. I had to walk in past the owner who was smoking in the doorway and was busy talking to anyone who walked by. The sandwich was fine but worth $15? Not a chance. Then I find out a week later they close down for a week "because their worries about safety" because they have a Covid outbreak among there staff. Not a surprise. I see reviews where people are raving about how nice the owner is and what he does around the town and how safe they are. Who are you talking about???? Safe? We were in town for work and it was our first time in Oneonta. This restaurant came up on Yelp and looked delicious. It did not disappoint. We were immediately greeted when we walked in the door. Our waiter was very polite and offered assistance on what we should order. I had the Jake Shapiro. Please do not eat here. Ordered a stromboli didn't eat the marinara sauce that came with it. It sat on the kitchen counter for a few hours before the lid started to balloon out. I touched it and it popped sauce all over! Do you know how much bacteria has to be in that to make marinara sauce cup explode being at room temp for 3 hours?!?!? Neither do I but it has to be ALOT. I am writing this review based on my experience as a vegan customer. Before I became plant-based for health reasons, I ate here from time to time and enjoyed their tasty food and hearty portions (even though the food is meat-heavy comfort food and far from healthy). However, their options for vegans are extremely limited and, sadly, not very tasty. Vegan food is not difficult to prepare, but it does require not simply relying on cheese and salty meats for flavor. Their portobello burger has potential but as it stands is a real let-down. The "burger" itself is an over cooked, heavily marinated portobello mushroom that is acidic due to its being over-marinated in a vinegar-based marinade. They offer it with garlic aioli, which is not vegan. They should offer a vegan spread (like simple vegenaise, for example) to make it a truly vegan option. The roll dwarfs the flat little mushroom, and with only a slice of tomato and some lettuce, it is far from satisfying, both in flavor and satiety. You can pay an extra $2 for avocado, but in my opinion at $12 it should come with it, as the creaminess of the avocado would help balance the acidity of the marinade. The French fries that accompany the sandwich are crisp and delicious and done right. I really wish they'd try to cater to their health-conscious foodies in a meaningful way. Contrary to popular belief, vegans want more than salads, and I'm not looking to go to a restaurant to buy vegetarian nuggets I can make myself at home for a fraction of the price. Let's see you up your game, Wise Guys, and bring some genuinely tasty options for the growing number of people who choose not to eat animals or animal products! We are here and have appetites and dollars to spend, just sayin'. read more
