Super disappointed. It looked completely unappetizing. I honestly wouldn't have been surprised to find raisins in the chicken salad too lmaoo. I wish I had checked the reviews before ordering. I ordered on the phone and they said 30 mins for just the salad... I arrive 30 minutes later and the doors are locked, I made eye contact with someone inside and waited till I pointed at my phone to let me in the spot. But I have to tell you, as a Rhode Islander, I am super picky and I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff how accommodating they were and how good the food was. I am Italian and I don't do sauce anywhere other than home but they nailed it. The fettuccine Alfredo was super good and my husband who is a chicken Parm lover went off the beaten path and had the chicken à la Nina and said it was absolutely amazing. This is my absolute favorite pizza spot in the Oneonta area. If you need a pie/slice stop by here. There are so many pizza spots in such a small radius, it 's hard to figure out which one to bring your money to. I prefer their regular slices to any others in the area. The specialty ones are good, but nothing too fancy. They are honest about delivery times, and drivers have always been nice. My husband and I were running errands around town this past Sunday and wanted to grab a slice of pizza for lunch. The pizzeria we usually frequent was closed, so we decided to give Nina's a try. We ordered two regular slices and two garlic knots. No drinks. Total was around $8.00. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I visited the ladies room while our slices were heated and it was clean as well. We received our order quickly and we're able to add some toppings self-serve (salt & pepper, crushed red pepper, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder). The napkin dispensers were empty though We took our order to go and ate back at our vehicle. We were impressed with the crispness of the slices. Other reviewers commented on the dough being soggy and it absolutely wasn't. It crunched with every bite and had a nice chew as well. The sauce was rather non-descript, but it wasn't sweet, so that's a win in our book. Cheese was melted nicely and good amount. The garlic knots were warm and doughy. This place rocks! I've heard opinions about debates between Tino's and Sals but turns out they both suck. Nina's is the place to be. The slices have great flavor and can taste the quality ingredients over the other two drunk accommodating rivals. The sauce has a great garlic flavor that blended beautifully with the high quality mozzarella that pulls and stretches after each bite. Though the slices were great, the service and attendants are what really impressed me. They got us quickly what we needed, were very attentive and offered us top notch service. I've been looking for a good pizza joint since the original Vincent's in Afton left--about 10 years ago. Tried Nina's on the recommendation of a friend and was extremely pleased! The restaurant itself has a great location, outside dining area and offers both booths and tables for seating inside. Immaculately clean and a friendly and attentive wait staff. It's a college town so it's definitely busy. I have been about 3 times in the month that we have initially tried it and I keep swearing that I'm going to try their other food options but the pizza is so damn good I just keep getting that. Crust is crispy and the sauce is phenomenal. Not too sweet, perfect amount of garlic. With a very nice sign outside, I expected a lot more, but when I walked inside it was pretty dirty pizzeria/restaurant, not what I expected based on the outside. The menu is very inconsistent with some dishes being much better than others. The staff was very kind at least, and when we had a complaint they did their best to fix it Out of the food I ate the only thing I liked was the bread, which was warm and covered with garlic powder. For my entree I had the chicken marsala, and honestly it was terrible. The chicken was rubbery and not soggy. The sauce was bitter and it tasted like not all the alcohol was cooked out. Additionally, my mom had the same dish and one of her pieces was so fatty she couldn't even cut into it. I tried a bite of my sisters baked ziti, and it was significantly better than what I was eating, so there are some ok dishes on the menu. So, my friends and I attended SUNY Oneonta years ago and all came back for a trip for my 30th birthday. One thing we were all looking forward to the most was eating some of our favorite foods from oneonta. We decided to order pizza and had such vivid memories of Nina's (which bsck then was mama Nina's) delicious chicken Caesar salad pizza. We called and asked if they still make it and we were told they could, we also suggested just getting a pizza and a Caesar salad and we could put the salad on the pizza, we were told they'd make it for us. What arrived was inedible. The salad was cooked onto the pizza and was wilted and gross. The dressing tasted like peanut butter. I am unclear how a business could send out a pizza looking like that. we called and complained and they were accommodating and came back with a pizza and a side Caesar salad, like what we had suggested in the first place. The salad tasted like peanuts? Again? Not Caesar? I guess that's what their Caesar tastes like #confused. We have eaten at Nina's in Norwich many times and have always had great food and service. So we were in Oneonta and decided to try this location. What a disappointment!! The service was not only slow, but the waitress never checked back with us and we had to ask for drink refills which were incorrect when they finally arrived. Also when the food arrived it was cold and had obviously been sitting out for some time. With many other choices for Italian food in the area, I highly recommend choosing someplace different. I had the white pizza with fresh tomato and garlic, which was extremely flavorful. I enjoyed my slice -- which I had them cut in half (since it was generous in size) to make it easier to eat -- outside with a view of Main Street surrounded by flowers. They even have a whole pie loyalty program; I took one of those loyalty cards to start stamping, because when I return, I hope to get a whole pie; it was that good! read more

We went here for dinner tonight. We were seated outside and were the first table sat outside. There were a number of tables inside. The waitress brought us water and said she would be back to take our order. Several more tables were seated outside around us. Our server took their drink orders. No one ever came back to our table. We asked for someone to take our order and another waitress took our order. Other tables ordered and received their food. At this point we had been seated for 45 minutes. We decided it was best to just take out food to go and we paid our bill and the waitress said she would bring our food out. She never did. After 15 more minutes we went inside to find that our order still had not been fired. We left hungry and frustrated. I am sure the food is good. But the service is not. Sad to have to give a bad review but our experience was just unacceptable. read more

We tried a lot of different things. So first we had apps - mozzarella sticks, garlic knots, and wings - all reallyyy good. For meals we got pizza - half meat pizza and half bacon/ranch I believe --- very heavy and A LOT on it but it was good. Pizza fell apart because there was so much in it lol. Buffalo chicken roll was good but not memorable. Nothing exciting. Then we had the stuffed shells and those were rubbery and no good... needs so work for sure. Staff was friendly. I just left Nina's with a group of almost 60...that's right, 60..ballplayers, siblings, parents, grandparents, and friends for our team dinner at Nina's. With just a little more than 24 hours notice, the managers at this adorable pizzeria pulled together a cook and waitstaff to open on a day they are normally closed in order to accommodate us. We are a loud and boisterous crew and they handled us with finesse. They offered a "team" menu with simpler choices for our big group, but there were still great pasta and huge salad options. They texted with me to make sure some pizza and appetizer options were hot and ready when our team arrived. We got to enjoy a great meal with an unreasonable number of people on short notice. Thanks, Nina's!! Fyi....they don't divide checks for large parties (over 10) although they will divide it evenly over 3 cards. This building is a great location. Right on the corner of Main and Elm, its large French doors open onto a nice sidewalk seating area during warmer weather. I had been to this restaurant several times in its previous incarnation, Mama Nina's. While I was not bowled over by their food or service, the owners had done a nice job of creating a pleasant ambiance (with a nice bar), and offering a wide selection of pizza by the slice. This past weekend, my wife and I decided to check out Nina's for the first time since it opened. We were just looking for a slice before we grabbed a drink down the street. We wandered in at about 6pm (prime dinner time) to find an almost empty restaurant. Also, they had torn out the bar and redecorated/repainted in a manner not befitting the location. It's the first time I've witnessed a restaurant having been given a make-under. It now looks like a typical small town, hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant. The pizza selection was almost non-existent. My wife ordered the one remaining slice of chicken pesto pizza, while I was left with a slice of eggplant. The pizza tasted fine, but my wife was later left with the feeling that her pizza may have been sitting out too long as we had to leave Oneonta early due to her feeling nauseous. Not good. There are a lot of pizza places in Oneonta. Some of it's actually pretty good. It's important that a restaurant knows what clientele they cater to. Are you an upscale place? Are you looking to serve drunk college kids late at night? Nina's just feels out of place. A lackluster restaurant in a nice location/building. In that sense, Nina's is much like Stella Luna. Though I doubt anyone will match the abysmal quality of Stella Luna's cheap boxed pasta, watery sauces, and obnoxious owner. I guess that means, in spite of a bit of mild food poisoning, Nina's isn't the worst Italian food we've had in Oneonta. read more
