I had won a year's worth of service at a Relay for Life fundraiser where local companies donate their services so participants buy up raffles in hopes of winning one of them. When I mailed it in with my information and address, I got a call from the owner who wanted to know more about the certificate because he'd never seen it. The individual who had offered this donation and signed the certificate was no longer working for the company. Rather than saying I'm the owner and didn't approve this, he said that it wasn't my fault and he'd honor the prize. Service was scheduled for them to come 3 days later and the technician arrived right at the start of a 2 hour window.
