This business is a blessing. My crank sensor slowly crapped out on me as I was driving home from work last night. Of course in the morning my engine light was on and I'm slightly panicked. After careful research on Yelp I located a business with all five-star reviews. The reviews are for naught; they are legit. My car was in my 9 am. UPDATED: it is more than a year later since first finding this shop, and I am so glad that I did! I have taken in several cars (even my RV at one point!) and always gotten exceptional friendly service, answers to my million questions, and everything done at incredibly reasonable rates. These guys are an amazingly friendly and trustworthy family business I recommend them to all of my friends! I never in a million years thought I'd be writing a good review for an auto mechanic but these guys are AMAZING! SO nice and very reasonable prices. I took a few vans in to get checked out when I was looking to buy and these guys saved me from buying a lemon and when I brought in the winner, they let me know. Marvin is so friendly and doesn't try to sell you stuff you don't need. I know nothing about cars... Like at all... So I'm worried about being taken advantage of. Sorry to write this unfortunate update, but it really should be done. Customer relations are NOT the place for your political beliefs, and they certainly aren't the place you can express your bigotry. What an outrage! I had a tire replaced here last week (had a flat!). As before, getting an appointment was quite easy and the cost was low. I brought my computer and did a little work while I waited. As I paid, the woman at the counter started making comments about how it was tax day and how all our taxes go to people who don't have jobs. She went on about the government for quite some time while I smiled uncomfortably waiting for the old-school transaction and invoice to complete. After I absorbed it for a while, I realized this should really be addressed, so I called the store to let her know that I was offended by her comments. I am someone who has been unemployed and on food stamps, and just needed a little help for a few months while I got back on my feet, similarly to many people who are in the system. Of course there are always some who take advantage of any system, but there are plenty who just need it for a short time like I did in the past. She apologized (great!), and then went on to say that I am a "different situation", since what she really meant was that these benefits are going to "minorities", and minorities "haven't worked as hard as we have". I'm sorry, WHAT? I just let her rant for a while, then politely hung up. Racism is disgusting. Many of the men working in the shop are minorities, and it alarms me that the woman taking people's money despises the people who actually earn that money with their hard labor every day. I will NOT be back to Wise. I would rather pay twice as much for someone who knows how to appropriately filter professional talk from personal, and for someone without such offensive views on her own coworkers. Worst Place to take your car. I went in for a minor problem for my push to start button and the mechanic kept saying it was different things and I kept believing him until I reached my limit and spent over 2k on parts and Labor just for the mechanic to mess up my car breaks and still not have the solution. I missed over 1 month of work due to not having transportation and was outraged to believe that it was still not fixed. I got a tow truck and took it to another Mechanic and got it fixed within 1 week. read more

After reading all of the great reviews, I decided to get a tire on New Year's Eve. Everyone was welcoming. Their customer service was awesome. There were even donuts and coffee upon your arrival. Maggie was so nice and did not have a problem with keeping you engaged in conversation. I was in and out in a matter of 15-20 minute and there were at least 2 people ahead of me. God is good to those who serve. ^context: called several other shops to compare pricing & not only was Wise Tire less, they were friendly & willing to work with you. Where do I start?! This place is very old school, down to earth, a place where you can learn so much of the city's history by just talking to Mr. Dan Wise. This man is great! He was talking to my sons and giving a lot of history lessons. They had a great time, so did I. I was in desperate of a new set of tires since I had been buying used for the last 5 years (YIKES!). So, through my work, I heard of Wise Tires and decided to give them a try. Their price was the cheapest by far. I think it took about 45 for everything to be done. Overall I am very satisfied with their work. Maggie was great as she was doing the whole receipt thing. The ONLY reason why I am rating it 4 stars was because the "Tire Installation Dude" forgot one of the lug nuts! ARGH! I noticed half a week later! I took it back early Tuesday morning after Memorial Day and the "Morning Tire Dude" found a replacement and placed it back on the tire (I can't remember their names... sorry). Our family has been coming here since the 1970s. This place is old school off the chart. The owner is Mr.Dan Wise his dad and uncle were the original owners of the business. . Always helpful and friendly. The employees also helpful and knowledgeable. I came in to patch up two tires it was all done in about 15 minutes. This place has been around since 1923. Im the fourth generation to use the services of this place. Check out the photos and see it for yourself. If Dan is not too busy he may give you a tour of the place and gives you a bit of a history lesson of old Inglewood and how he use to ride horses to and from the stables. read more

Marvin and Nelson are straight. I had a used 2006 Subaru Tribeca with a radiator that lost all of its fluid. I took it to them to replace my radiator. I went ahead and replaced the thermostat, rear struts, rear brake pads and an oil change last month. The Subaru is running well. For a replacement catalytic converter, Nelson said he could charge as much as $1,500. I booked my appointment for the following Monday, but on Monday morning he said that he underestimated the actual cost of a replacement converter and that he'd have to raise the price to approx. $2,100. I was again amazed at how terrible it was to call around and try to find someone who could answer the question "I have X car, I want tires that are long lasting as I drive like an old lady. What can you recommend?" Maggie at Wise said "give me 15 minutes to check on that exact car and I'll call you back" - and she did, and with great info. The price was within a few bucks of TireRack.com and I didn't have to deal with all the hassles. While I had a quick and easy task performed at this location, I would definitely recommend it for many of your car tire needs. I called to confirm they had a semi-rare tire in stock prior to going to their location. Shockingly they did. The cost was comparable to other locations including big chain stores pricing as well. I took my wheel in less than 30 minutes after speaking with them. Arriving at 4:30, 30 minutes prior to them closing. Dan was already on it as soon as I arrived. They replaced the tire on the wheel and had it ready before I was even ready to leave. I grabbed a sandwich and milkshake from a location next door per Dan's suggestion, came back, and Dan shared some history with this NC boy (me) of the west coast, more specifically where I was standing. Definitely see myself going back to them for future work and can not recommend them enough to you. They make Inglewood look good. read more

I went for brakes and they told me about my tires and need for an oil change, which I knew needed to be serviced. For the sake of being thorough they HAVE to tell you about your needs but you're not obligated to act or pay for what they recommend. Nelson took a look at my car while I was standing there (after he initially told me he didn't hear anything) and told me what was wrong with it - and then charged me $125 for a diagnostic fee, on top of the cost to repair it. Then he charged me $150 for an oil change. I got got for a total for $260 but I took my car and my hurt feelings home. He was rude as was the person answering the phones. When I called to ask what the car needed she said "I didn't ask him all that. I don't know." I tried really hard. I was going to let him fix the car but he quoted me a price for the repair that was EXACTLY the price the dealer quoted me PLUS $125. What??? I'm wondering if he was going to take it to the dealer for the repair and the $125 was his fee. Buyer beware read more

They are so nice there. Danny the owner and Maggy are wonderful. My husband and I have been going there for at least 30 some years. They always have the best prices and they do everything they can to make you happy. They even try to feed you. lol. The last time we went there, we just leased a new Navigator and the tires that the dealer put on were shaking when we were on the freeway. We went back to the dealer for them to fix it and they tried to balance the tires but they were still shaking after we drove off.
