I had a very pleasant experience at this place. I had gotten my car smog tested nearby and the tech just happened to notice that I had no oil in my car at all. He told be to found an oil change place asap. I found Wise and was immediately assisted by Nelson. He was so kind and helpful and took care of my oil issue and pointed out some other things my old car needs but he didnt pressure me into getting them today. The oil change was affordable and I think he did a great job. I would come here again. read more

I was told by the Toyota Marina dealership that I needed all four of my wheel bearings changed & they quoted me an exorbitant price. I called yesterday and spoke to Juan - who asked me to bring in my car so he could assess it. I brought it in this morning - he looked over it for free right then and there & gave me an estimate. He said that I only needed two of the wheel bearings fixed - not four! I went here because I spotted a nail in my tire. Though my tire pressure was fine, I wanted to get it checked out. I went to Pep boys and they almost convinced me to buy a brand new tire, until I decided to get a second opinion. Here they did more thorough testing of my tire, inspected for leaks, and ultimately realized the nail was extremely short and wasn't fully penetrating by the tread of the tire. They popped the nail out, topped all my tires off with air free of charge, and had me on my way within 15 minutes. Definitely glad I came here as I felt they were more thorough in their tire inspection process. Plus the customer service was friendly, and they saved me from wasting money on a brand new tire! read more

They gave me a REALLY GOOD price for 2 new tires for my car, and they were super accommodating. One of their technicians spent a full 45 minutes on this extremely annoying task (I needed a locked lug nut taken off, and it wasn't cooperating). He stuck with it, though, and eventually got it off, which was a huge help. I'll definitely be going back for any more car needs, and would strongly recommend them. read more

I've been without A/C for a couple of months without the need to get it fixed due to the relatively moderate temperatures. After the higher temperatures this weekend I knew I needed to get it checked out. I swung by Dr CarFix around 11:15am today hoping to be able to squeeze in an appointment. Despite having a few cars in bays being worked on already, Nelson kindly offered to check my A/C system. After a quick diagnosis, Nelson told me that my freon was depleted and would need to be refreshed. He was upfront with the cost and at no point did I feel pressured to agree to have him service the car. Throughout the process Nelson notified me of what type of work he would be performing on my car. He was courteous, patient, and professional. I was able to drive away 20 minutes later with cool air blasting through my car vents, a much forgotten sensation. A true mom and pop shop that gives you the service chains like Pep Boys and all those other places lack. Services are first-come-first served, so they'll tell you if you need to wait. Had 2 tires and brakes done in October 2016, came back in January 2017 for alignment - they took my Jeep in back, checked it and said I didn't need alignment and didn't charge me, and got 2 more tires this past March and asked that my parking brake be checked. They make you feel like family. I knew I needed to wait for 2 other customers ahead of me for my March tires and brake check so I brought my laptop. Maggie brought out a folding table and kept me fed with danishes and coffee the entire time I was there. The reception area has 4-5 chairs and you will be people watching the whole time as these folks work their magic with rental agency clients, body shops, and drop-in clients. The clientele ranges from ex NASA engineers, teens with hot rods (or whatever you call them "drifts"???), to people with classic cars. If you want to get in and out without too much of a wait, get there EARLY, like before they open and just camp out on the sidewalk. When the gate opens be careful and make sure they're not shuffling cars around in the bays and see if they let you drive in before someone else does LOL If you need a tire size they don't keep in stock they'll order it for you. Tires are brand name and new, not retreads or patched. They're old school: paper receipts, no barcode scanners, what they know is in their heads, not in a computer or from a script, and they care about their customers - regulars like me, or one question visitors. You can tell these people are honest to the core, a quality hard to find in any business these days, especially in auto care. In October I had a short wait and walked down to the Foster's Freeze, I heard someone calling my name and the owner was jogging after me to apologize and let me know they had to order my tires so they wouldn't be able to help me that day. Instead of waiting for me to come back, he came to find me - that is a level of customer service that is so rare to find, I still can't believe it. This is the kind of place that deserves to be a "Best of Yelp" business! read more

I'll never come here again. I was the only car and watched as three "regular customers" come in, be serviced, and out the door as I sat and waited. And I sat and I waited for an hour and fifteen minutes for a simple oil change when I walked in the door NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE. No other customers, no other people waiting no one and I sat there. Worst experience I've ever had. Never again. Then the guy asked me how much I usually pay and I told him how much and that's what I was charged with tax. WHAT? So how much is the oil change really? I went in to get a quote for my rims that are 2 months old. The paint on the other rims are brand new and don't have a single scratch on them. Welp, I Dropped my aluminum wheel off for repair so they could give me an accurate quote. I filled out the paperwork given to me before I left the place . That includes my name and phone number.I never received a call from them. So, I decided to call them back to find out what was going on. They tell me that my rim is repaired and "refinished" and it'll be $80. I show up to them telling me it's now $90 because they charged me to mount the tire. Ok, but then.. I look at the rim to be very upset. The rim is not only NOT REFINISHED. They took the rim to get repaired without my approval to start off with. Second, they didn't refinish anything! I look at my center caps and they used a screw driver to pry the center piece off. Unprofessional. Never stopping by this place again! read more
