My go to spot in Manlius. Everything is great here. I have had a few of the currys and they're all amazing. Super friendly as well.

I'm not sure what happened but I finally busted through my own reticence with my internal self and popped in on a Friday to grab some fish. Upon entering, I was a bit surprised to see that it doubles as a Mediterranean restaurant. The decor seems to suggest both cuisines and was an interesting mix for sure. Orders can be done at the counter or via their website. I opted for counter service and was nicely greeted and taken care of. As I waited, the place started filling up with folks waiting for online orders as well as with a couple Dash or Grubhub drivers. I was there 15 minutes or so before my food was ready but in those 15 minutes I saw a lot of orders coming in, a lot of confusion in whose order was ready or not (they need to work on their system), and some frustration with folks waiting for orders. Being busy was encouraging to see for me, but the mounting frustration of customers waiting on online orders made met think the counter was the right way to go. Onto the meal. It was...fine. Nothing stood out to me. The haddock was cooked well but was a little greater than I prefer. The fries were plentiful. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to grab fish from here, but would give them a shot on their other food.

I ordered the tropical salmon and was side eyeing the coconut a little, but wow... it all came together perfectly. Sweet, tangy, and the salmon was cooked exactly right. Service never disappoints, and whoever was behind the bar deserves a shoutout because that blackberry margarita was dangerous. I went back for round two and I'm not sorry about it. Dessert was a dense chocolate cake that didn't even last long enough for a photo, which says everything. Consistently good food, fabulous drinks, and a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like family.

We ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer, and the batter was so crispy and also fluffy (almost like a battered haddock but lighter) - awesome! The bang bang sauce has great flavor, but slightly too mayo forward for my preferences - but ate it up nonetheless and would get them again! I also ordered a blackberry margarita- which I will say was strong, but the flavors were great. When I asked if they minded giving me a couple Slices of lemon and some simple syrup (and yes I admitted that it was a ME problem, not that they made it poorly- it was just stronger and I'm a big wimp!) , they promptly, no questions asked said "we got this" and put the drink back in the shaker and added some simple syrup (mind you I was totally fine with just a little shot glass of it to dump in my drink!) - so the willingness to be so helpful was very appreciated. As for our entrees, one of us ordered the Cajun Alfredo and one of us ordered the Tropical Salmon, both were made incredibly well, and the flavor and seasoning was fantastic! The Alfredo sauce when I tried it was lovely, not so thick and "artery clogging" as some Alfredo can be, but coated the noodles beautifully and packed a flavorful punch. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the pineapple and coconut in the rice made for an amazingly delicious dish. We were also fortunate to sit at a window overlooking the swan pond and then take a nice walk around the pond. So lovely- cannot wait to go back!!

There was a lovely breeze and amazing view of green lakes and beyond. My small children wanted to walk around while we waited for our food and we checked out the golf carts nearby. The service was pretty fast. At one point I ordered a side of fries and it came out so quickly! The food was also pretty good. I am deducting a star because of the vegetarian sandwich. I was a bit disappointed in the bread which did not seem to be sourdough or toasted and roasted red peppers that were small shreds. The taste was overall ok but larger pieces of red peppers and more lettuce would have helped a lot. My spouse is gluten free and we were pleased they had gf buns on their menu for an additional cost. He and our kids really enjoyed their dinners. Their kids meals were reasonably priced and our 5 year old completely devoured a cheeseburger (normally she eats mostly fries) but the fries were good too!!

The menu is quite nice and many of the women I were with ordered a Smashburger, which they loved.. I ordered the Waldorf salad, which was generously portioned both lettuce and chicken salad. It was just perfect with enough mayonnaise, walnuts, and grapes to go with the chicken. Our waitress was so wonderful that she actually came around and did separate checks with us. Who would've thought? Wonderful food, wonderful company, and outstanding scenery.

Over the course of dinner, the place never really filled up. And as the evening went on, I found out why. I will say that the food was very good - we asked for the Clams Casino and the Mozzarella Wedge. Soup of the day was New England Clam Chowder, it was nice and thick and loaded with both potatoes and clams. Definitely one of the better ones I've had. Dinner was the BLI Burger, which my wife tells me was very good but no better than quite a few deli's in Syracuse. I ordered the Truffle Gnocci and Scallops, which was expensive for the portion I got - they tried to make it look bigger by serving it in a large bowl but no one was fooled. About 6 gnocci and 3 scallops with some mushroom risotto. Pathetic. Then came the coup de grace... two filet au poivre with the Lazy Surf and Turf. What does this really mean, you might ask? Well, instead of getting a lobster tail they pull the meat out and serve it in a bowl of butter for you. Hence, "lazy" - you don't have to do any work. And they charge exorbitantly for this service. So the price was $74 for the steak with an additional upcharge of $28 for the "lazy" lobster tail. One guest got the lobster tail, one didn't. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth the price? Absolutely not - I've been to Chicago and gotten a better, larger cut of steak for far less than this. So for dinner the bill came to a little over $300 (not including tip). Ridiculous to pay for 4 dinners and a few appetizers, especially when one of them was a burger and fries. I could have gone to the Grotto in North Syracuse, gotten bigger portions, better quality food and spent about half as much. As it stands, I won't be back - not because of the food quality or the service, but because the prices are far too much for far too little.

It's located in an older house so there is unlevel flooring from room to room but they are mindful to make you aware. The food was delicious although not what you may expect.
