I want to like Wishbone, I really do. The restaurant itself is beautiful, really well done. I have had it probably five times at this point, and have been disappointed every time. I have held back on a review but the latest sandwich I got is pushing me over the edge. The chicken itself is minuscule, covering less than 50% of the bun. It is also soggy, not crispy. I had Chick-Fil-A last night and am wishing I had just done that again. The chicken sandwhich from Shake Shack is also much better. I'd expect more from a dedicated chicken spot. This is the 3rd time I have been disappointed in a sandwich from here, I am done. The potato salad has way too strong of a dill/mustard flavor, not edible. The tenders are hit/miss. This place was perfect for a quick lunch. It has a NYC cafeteria vibe on a smaller scale specific for chicken. Food is hot and ready and costs per pound so keep your hungry eyes in check. They serve beer and have plenty of space for individuals or groups. Weekends they stay open until 4am for those late night cravings. The fried chicken has pretzel in the bread which sounds strange, but is a small flavor compared to the reset of the chicken and spices. They serve chicken tenders in both white and dark meat which is unheard of in this area. If you like onions and peppers in your mac and cheese it's worth getting a full container of the pretzel breading topped goodness. I finished up with a piece of jalapeño and cheddar cornbread that has a good kick and finishes sweet. This is my new philly comfort food spot for sure. read more

If you are in to flavor and customization Wishbone delivers! White or dark meat chicken? Wings or tenders? You choose your favorites. I had the white meat tenders and found them to be delicious. For me the coating was not too thick, but I do wish it had more seasoning. The pretzel flavor is nice. They are not super crispy because of the reheating process, but I like the set-up and having the chicken prepared makes for a fast meal. The sauce selection is fantastic, it is sure to satisfy almost anyone. There are many to pick from, it was hard to choose! The mustard sauce has heat from wasabi and sweetness from honey. The buffalo blue sauce is also good with a lot of blue cheese flavor and mild heat. They make everything in house. The fries are really good and crispy, but mine were a little too salty. The ketchup they serve it with is also homemade, it is more savory than sweet but I thought it was a nice change. The quality of the ingredients and careful attention to flavor combinations really shines through the sauces. This really makes the meal five stars worthy. I also had the famed mac and cheese and it was amazing! There is a lot of flavor going on, and it is all cheesy, creamy, with crispy parts from the breaded top. They also have a pretty large selection of homemade desserts. The thai coconut tapioca pudding was a few steps up from the tapioca pudding I would have as a kid as far as flavor and quality goes and brings a sense of nostalgia. Not to mention they have a large selection of drinks, try a snap tea with your fried chicken and mac. We get take out from Wishbone once a week. The coating on the chicken is perfect, it's light and the chicken is perfectly cooked every time we order it. Definitely elevated if I dare not say gourmet fast food at an affordable price with an amazing did I say an amazing beer selection for around $2.50 a bottle. I had the Southern chicken sandwich with the only problem of there being too much mayo with the added mayo and then coleslaw. I recommended getting no mayo or get the coleslaw on the side (the sandwich already has a lot of flavor). Otherwise the sandwich was great having eaten fried chicken in the deep south to Thomas Keller's in Napa. I also got the lemon raspberry cheesecake pie which was amazing. I visited Wishbone at 12:30 on a Monday and there were only two other customers, which is slow considering the location. I ordered a pound of wings ($8.95/LB) and a biscuit ($2.25). The wings are not seasoned well and not that tasty, therefore, I urge you to purchase one of the variety of dipping sauces they offer for an additional 50 cent. I was disappointed, at least one dipping sauce should have been included with my order. I hate when companies squeeze money out of customers by charging for condiments. I understand paying for additional condiments, but at least include some condiments with a customer's order. What's next, paying extra for napkins? But I digress. Butter is also not included with the biscuit. Specialty butter can be purchased for an additional cost. LOL. Again, what's next, charging for napkins? I ordered the Honey Butter which was pretty good considering that I had to pay for it! The biscuit is made from scratch and as for taste, it was 'ok.' It probably would have tasted better if it was served warm. The menu is pretty diverse, they sell fried chicken (white, dark, and wings), sandwiches, salads, desert, and sides. They also have an impressive vintage soda collection. Now to the good part, they serve beer, prices range from $2.50 and up! They sell everything from Blue Moon to local craft beers! Ventured into Wishbone not really knowing what to expect. My two friends and I were pleasantly surprised at how good (and juicy) the chicken was. I was sold on the Mac and cheese after the employees let us try some before buying - their mac and cheese is awesome. The two employees were so nice and very helpful when it came to making up our minds on what to buy. The buffalo bleu sauce was so good - if they sold it by the bottle I'd buy it. The only suggestion I'd make is to somehow make sure the food is served at a higher temperature. (It wasn't cold but could have been much hotter) Overall it was a fun place to eat with decent food and down to earth employees. I was so so so excited to come here and I was let down so so so hard. This place has such a great vibe with coolers lined up with craft beer along with original and modern decor. Unfortunately, none of that can help the fact that the chicken's flavor was god awful. They highly brag about their pretzel crusted chicken, but they forgot to leave out that doesn't compensate for the potent flavor that instantly hits you when you take a bite. After showing picture of the food, There was this one super nice lady that works there told us that her manager over charge us. So the manager (her name is SHAY) called us back with an attitude and said reason why the bill is so high with a small amount of food is because it is 2.50 per biscuit which she never told us since the beginning that's why we are charged for 24 bucks (only 2 wings and 1 leg) with 2 burned side you guys. This is insane. I never leave people bad review but the restaurant doesn't even deserved all these stars. Btw if you guys come to this location the food is not even fresh because they don't make it there. If you guys want better wings go to bonchon in Chinatown or soho in northeast philly it is 100 percent better. To the owner of this place: I hope you will find a better manager because with this type of workers, you will end up losing many customer. After you walk pass their selection of beer, you see all the different choices of food that they have. After you finish ordering, you get to pick a sauce to dip your food in. They have a wide variety of sauces but I decided to go with their barbecue sauce. After I payed, I was able to find a seat and enjoy my food. For starters their fried chicken was not greasy compared to other places. The chicken was nice and juicy, and it was cooked to perfection! The chicken had a nice crunch to it, and it melted in your mouth. The barbecue sauce paired nicely with the chicken, and it was a little sweet but not too sweet. The best thing about this place is that they are open till 4 in the morning on Saturdays! I went to this place at 12 in the morning and it was amazing! The chicken is decent, but definitely not worth the price per pound (especially when there's more breading and less chicken). The mac and cheese is dry and burnt, but a step up from Wawa. All of the sauces are spicy (not like "my mouth is on fire" hot, but not even the honey mustard is sweet). And I'm gonna go ahead and be that guy to say 75¢ is too expensive for the size of the containers. Should be 50¢ (it adds up, dude).
