Quick, easy, reasonably priced. Most of my visits to Wishbone have been late in the evening, and even with a line out the door, their team is great at getting people in and out quickly and safely. This afternoon I stopped by for two large tenders and a small mac and cheese for 11 bucks. Given the location, not so bad, and the chicken tenders are massive. Beyond the tenders, there's bites, sandwiches, salads, pastries and TONS of sauce options. So this place isn't quite 4 stars but is better than 3. I came here after running a half marathon so I was pretty starving. I got the combo which comes with 2 strips, 1/2lb of Mac and cheese, a cookie, and drink. The strips are good and filling. The Mac and cheese has a slight spice to it. There are several cookies to choose from and This place has unique soda flavors. Everything was just very okay to me. I wish I could have had a different dessert because the cookies looked kind of overcooked (and the one I got def was). I also got a mixed cocktail drink which I really liked. The lady who was out front was very kind and helpful with everything. I love this place. The chicken here hits differently, lol. It's crispy on the outside, has flavor, and is juicy on the inside. The Mac and cheese here also slaps. I recommend that if you come here, you get: a couple of pieces of chicken, Mac and cheese, a piece of jalapeño cornbread, and grab one of the craft beers they have in the fridges. BTW they have a great selection of craft beer. The service is pretty good but when they're busy, you could end up waiting up to about 10 mins for your food. The chicken was pretty dry and tasteless, and the Mac and cheese was a bit overcooked and dry, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because it was close to closing time. Today, I ordered a Wishboner sandwich. The chicken was so overcooked that it was almost inedible, and completely dry and flavorless, again. The service was fast and good, which is the only reason this is two stars and not one. The space is small, with not a lot of seating -- I don't think this was ever intended to be a place to lounge for an hour, though. If you're famished and just need something quick, this will do. I ordered a large breast and a large biscuit.....I asked for honey, they didn't have any! I had to think quickly - there was a CVS about a block away....I found my honey! The chicken had a flavorful, crisp breading that was a perfect contrast to its tenderness. It was delicious. So, let's start with the chicken. It's in strips, dark and white. Dark is boneless thighs. It's breaded in a very hearty breading and fried very crunchy. Unfortunately, It's relatively devoid of taste. Needed salt, but none in sight. Where there's hope is the sides. I had red bliss potato salad and jalapeño corn bread. Both were excellent. This is my go to spot for late night food! It is always open super late and we always stop by after a night out. I always get the dark meat and its always very fresh and delicious even at 2 am, the biscuits are good also! They have a variety number of sauces and my favorite is the tamarind sweet chili sauce! Their sides are very good especially the mac and cheese. The chicken tenders here are very tender, soft, and they have a little bit of a crunch. It's crazy they will charge you a random number from 1-100 for the food you ordered. I just got 3 pieces of chicken and a biscuit and the cashier said "$21 please." And I said "that's weird cuz I got less than a pound of chicken, which your menu says is $12 and 1 biscuit which your menu says is $2, so how can it be $20" and the cashier said "tax" apparently wishbone charges 50% sales tax on $14 orders, either that or the employees are intoxicated, incompetent, or both. All of this to say, just be prepared to pay whatever they charge you, cuz it seems like they just make up a number on the fly. read more

This restaurant is honestly one of the best!! I first discovered this restaurant around 2017, they came into my old office building to provide Lunch. I decided to try their actual store and the food was amazing! I love the fact that you can build your own six pack from their cooler of alcoholic drinks. They have so many cool looking beers that I have never seen before. The food was good, but not the absolute best fried chicken I have ever had. It's easy to order and take out, but we decided to sit and eat (they had a good amount of seating available, mainly high-tops). I have been to two locations for wishbone. One is in West Philly and one is in Center City. I think the center city location is better. Wishbone mainly sells chicken tenders and they are pretty good. The breading is quite crunchy while the chicken itself remains moist. You can choose between light and dark chicken. What I like a lot about this location is the craft beers. There are a lot to choose from and they go well with the chicken tenders. They also have more obscure and specialty sodas. My one qualm is that with expensive chicken tenders, they also charge for sauces. I think that if you spend above $5 for chicken, you probably should get a free sauce. The sauces are good, but can they really cost that much to make? I also wish that the sauce containers had wider mouths so that it was easier to dip the large tender into. read more

The pretzel crusted chicken is so good! It is weird though that the wings cost the same amount per pound as the tenders, so your basically paying for a bunch of bones... All of the meals are priced by weight and it is kind of expensive but I enjoyed the meal. The tenders are pretty big so two were enough for my lunch and I enjoyed the s'mores bar as well. The half baked cookie was not good. I'm not sure what makes it half baked because it seemed fully cooked to me...the person who I got lunch with had half of it and gave the other half to me, then after one bite I threw the rest away. We ordered from Wishbone last night on a complete whim. We had walked by over the weekend and tried the to-go cocktails (the bourbon blueberry one and the peach one) and both were super strong and tasty. Last night, we actually ordered dinner from a different chicken spot and our order was cancelled so by that point: we were HUNGRY and needed something quick. We thought of Wishbone because of the cocktails and ordered two sandwiches, some wings, and (I thought) cole slaw. Delivery estimate was 30 minutes but thankfully I think it only took 20 minutes since we're so close by. The sandwiches were delicious. The bacon on my blt sandwich was perfect. The chicken was crispy. Bae liked the pickle game on his classic sandwich (the "wishboner," according to the box, lol). The wings were super crispy! I wasn't a fan of either of the sauces we tried - buffalo Bleu or the sweet chili sauce. Bae liked the chili one. I added some extra Bleu cheese we had to the buffalo Bleu sauce because I am weak and needed to tone it down. I thought we ordered Cole slaw, but we received potato salad. Bae doesn't eat potatoes so I tried it. It wasn't my jam (the potatoes weren't the star of the show with all the other greens and such going on), but it wasn't bad. I would absolutely order sandwiches and cocktails or beers from Wishbone again. Out of all the local chicken sandwich spots in our immediate vicinity, these are the best in my opinion. The sandwich would have been great had the chicken actually been a full fillet that covered the bread. So disappointing. The red potato salad is quite sweet. I didn't see relish in it. It's a dill potato salad so not sure where the sweetness is coming from unless it's made with miracle whip or sugar is added. $3.75 for a small cup. Corn bread is on the small side for $2.75. Pretty good place! I had the tasting meal, which gives you a half lb. of chicken (2-3 breasts), sauce, and a half pound of macaroni, plus a desert and drink. That's a lot of food for a relatively low price (about $15.50 after tax at the time of this review). If you only order chicken or mac, the price is considerably less, making it a good option compared to the mostly expensive restaurants in the surrounding area. The food was good, too! And the wait staff was very friendly and patient. If I had any complaints, it's that the seating wasn't great. But for a take out chicken place, Wishbone would be a pretty good option. read more
