My experience at this location has been great. I read the other reviews but don't feel the same way. My first encounter at this place was about 2 weeks ago. My daughter's glasses were ridiculously bent out of shape! The frame was twisted & it couldn't sit flat on a surface. A mess. The guy at the counter was friendly & fixed the glasses free of charge. I didn't buy those glasses from them so he could've charged me to fix it. Then 2 days ago I ripped my last contact lens. Of course I didn't have any pairs left and my old eye dr moved further east. I called them 20 mins before closing and they told me to come in. The eye dr was very nice and did a complete exam. I didn't feel rushed even though they were supposed to close in 5 minutes. The cost for an exam & 6 month supply was cheaper than another place I called. If you are in a pinch, this place is definitely worth a try. read more

Recently went in to get new glasses, my father, mother, brother and i. Loved the service and patience Shivani had with us! She was so helpful and we were traveling with a cranky newborn and she was able to still help us and was so nice! BEWARE! I went back to the New Hyde Park, N.Y. location to get more contact lenses and was told that my prescription had expired in their computer system. When I pulled out the paper copy they had given me when I had my eye exam last year, the manager refused to accept it (even though it clearly showed an expiration date of November 28, 2018) and accused me of having forged it! How could I have forged a prescription with their letterhead and the store's stamp on it??? When I asked for my prescription back to go somewhere else, the manager refused to let me have it. When I got angry and demanded it in a loud voice, she wrote "expired" on it before giving it back to me. If I wasn't so shocked at the treatment, I would have called the police. read more

My experience at Wize eyes New Hyde Park was HORRIBLE! and i highly recommend you DONT go here for your eyeglasses! Not only do their employees not care at all, but I was treated very poorly and their glasses are cheap quality. Their prices are great because your getting exactly what your paying for! I went to the store to try on a few pairs of eyeglasses. I found a pair I liked and wanted to buy them. The girl who helped me was so rude to me. I had my children with me and she acted as if they were a bother to her. I ended up leaving because of how rude the sales girl was to me. After going to several other places I couldn't find any glasses i liked as much as the ones I tried on there so i decided to go back and buy them even though I was treated so poorly. BIG MISTAKE!!! I went in the day of my appointment. This day was another sales girl and she was just as rude and unfriendly. The doctor took me in and did my eye exam he barley said two words to me. I told him my eyes felt as though they got worse he said they did and my prescription did change. I tried on the glasses I originally liked and decided to get them. Getting the girl to explain the packages to me was a hassle. She had no interest in helping me at all. The pair i was trying on (the display) had a chip on the side and she assured me I wasn't going to get that pair they ALWAYS order a new pair. I went back a few days later and the glasses they gave me had that exact chip that the display had. i was told that they used the display for my eyeglasses "their not sure why". And they will now order a new pair and call me when they are in. They said it would be a few days. I waited over a week never got a call. It would be nice if someone could of stayed in contact with me because it was an error on their part and call me to let me know why it was taking so long. I went to the store and found out the glasses were ready. For the second time there was a problem with the glasses. There was a scratch on the lenses. I was told again that they would change out the lenses and and call me when the new pair was ready. I again waited never got a call. I called to find out the status and asked to speak with the manager. After being treated so poorly having to wait because of errors on their part i was now a little upset as to why i didn't at least get a call. I spoke with Kim the manager. I was told by Kim that my glasses were ready and someone was just about to call me. I really don't think this was true because I was waiting over a week and the previous time no one ever called me either. Any way I went in to get my glasses. AGAIN i looked at the glasses and this time there was a chip on the lenses again right on the bottom. I was really upset this time and i was disappointed that THREE times glasses were given to me damaged. I'm not even sure how they allow this to happen! Anyway, Kim the manager told me to choose another pair because these were plastic and this could be the reason... really?!?! At this point I didn't even care I quickly picked out another pair and left. I just waned to get pick up my glasses and be done with this place! Kim did apologize and told me to write a letter to the owner because he should be informed on the all the issues. She said she would personally hand him the letter so it didn't get lost. She also offered me a $50 git certificate to the store for the next time i get glasses there. The thought was very nice but really?!? A $50 gift certificate to the store?!?! I told her thank you but it wouldn't be necessary because I would NEVER return to this store. I wrote up a letter for the owner and returned to the store the day i was told to get my glasses. I gave the letter to Kim and luckily this time my eyeglasses had no damages. Peter adjusted the glasses for me. He is so unfriendly and made me feel so uncomfortable every time he helped me, I actually brought my husband with me this time because I felt so uncomfortable going in alone. Basically this was my story of how bad of an experience i had. I never write reviews but i wrote this one in hopes of preventing someone else from going through all I had to deal with. My glasses cost all together around $400. And honestly i wish i would of spent the extra money and went to another place because when I thought i was getting a "deal", all i really got was poor service, told incorrect information, cheap glasses and the wrong prescription in the glasses. No one should be left how I was left feeling. I understand mistakes happen but for the time I waited, them trying to give me THREE pairs of damaged glasses and how poorly i was treated there is no excuse for that. And the damages on all 3 pairs was very noticeable!! I also never ended up hearing from the owner after the letter i wrote. Bought my third pair of glasses, here a while back, at a great price. This week, no matter how much I tried to tighten the screw that had gotten loose, it would not help. I brought it in for them to fix. In a little while, they gave them back to me, all fixed, with a new part, and at no charge!!! I can see why I'm going to keep doing business with them. They gave me a frame that was tarnished (Versaces) and the wrong type of lenses after asking repeatedly for the BEST they had... They didn't bother to re-check my pupillary distance and alignment because they "had them already" from the last time I got glasses from them 8 years ago. When I went back after confirming with my ophthalmologist that the alignment was off they tried to tell me that I just needed to get used to it and that the person who told me the measurement was off was probably mad that I didn't buy my glasses from them. My ophthalmologist does not sell glasses, and I had worn the lenses for 4 nauseated days before going back to them just incase I would get used to it. They also tried to dismiss the fact that I didn't get the lenses I asked for by trying to tell me that they wouldn't make much of a difference. I should have gone to LensCrafters like I usually do. Rip off. I came here to buy glasses because I needed a pair quick, and I figured a place like this would be cheaper than my usual eye doctor. I left with a basic pair that wasn't even a brand name and paid $250. I still wish I could return them. I've been to this place a few times. The optician there is EXCELLENT. He makes the visit easy peasy and he is very honest. The sales staff there SUCKS! I once bought a nice pair of Italian glasses but way too expensive. The staff is not very helpful regarding assisting with style choices and such. The sales staff there is "low energy" enough to make Zombies look alive. Do they realize that I can find better, cheaper glasses online? If they don't step up their act and start greeting and treating customers as if their job depended on it, they will soon be out of a job. I came to Wize eyes in Melville because they couldn't see me at Len's Crafters at the mall. They took me right away and the exam seemed thorough. When I was finished they assigned me to a sales rep who was nice but seemed new. She went around picking frames for me without even asking me what I was looking for. Finally I got tired of that and I started pointing out frames I thought I might like. One of the things I didn't like was that they have the frames behind a counter and you can't get at them. I prefer to just go around looking at them and trying them on myself. Over all it was OK but definitely a number of steps down from their competitors in appearance and quality. But what really drove me to write this review is that it has been 2 weeks and they still don't have my glasses. I'm tempted to cancel the order but I am traveling and I need the new glasses for the trip. I plan to give them one more day. read more
