The tasting room has a funky and welcoming feel.

We've been going to most of the wineries and tasting rooms in the Apple Hill area for about 10 years now, and this was our first visit to Wofford. The Apple Hill area is unique because it is one of the few places you can have vineyards next to an apple orchard. This last weekend we decided to expand our samplings and visited Wofford. It is off the beaten path but well worth visiting. Debbie in the tasting room was welcoming, knowledgeable, and accommodating. As for the wine, it was really enjoyable. We purchased one of their blends and a bottle of port. We spoke with one of the winemakers briefly, and their wines are made with estate-grown grapes. As for the setting, not only is it scenic, it has a certain funky feel that we really enjoyed. And oh, they also produce a fine cider. We'll get that on our next visit.

Suck it in. The single lane road to this vineyard can be tight if meeting another SUV. But the tasting and view are well worth the trek. And so is tasting with the owner on Nevada Day. This Fresno State alum offers a discount on purchases on Nevada Day, so wear your pack colors. We had great conversation, ribbing and tasting here. The white wine ciders were a very interesting discovery and purchase. Enjoyed several reds. But missed the port, by a small window. I'll have to return in a month or so when the next release is made. Take the time, and maybe a glass out to the yard and enjoy the fabulous view for miles of the wooded and vines canyon. Picnic tables available. Plenty of parking in several small lots near the tasting room.

Way up high in the mountains with great 360 degree views, Wofford offers a unique outdoor tasting experience. They specialize in reds and red field blends and produce high quality age-worthy wines wines. Our visit included a choice of pulled chicken, grilled tri-tip or soy chorizo soft tacos to accompany their solid and interesting wine offerings. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed the vertical tasting of three years of their flagship Bordeaux style blend.

I love this place. It is hard to beat the views and the wines from here. Nestled in the food hills overlooking a canyon of trees it is a great location. We came here to try their wine on our excursion out in apple hill totally worth it. Driving up they had set up their tasting outside so people could enjoy the view. Their variety of wines was extremely impressive. The ranged from light whites to more bold reds. The Idaho blend is a great table wine that compliments most dinners. Their Cabernet is full bodied and has amazing flavor. After trying some of their wines we headed inside to try their Syrah and also to participate in a tasting with the vineyard owner. Depending on the day you can donate 5 dollars for cancer research and go into the barrel room and try wine straight from the barrels. The owner explains the different ages of the wine that you try and the story of what happened the year that they were made. Since they had the fires a few years ago it affected the way the merlot tasted that year. Also we heard stories about the bears that like to come in and eat the grapes. It was fun to be able to learn more about the wine that we were tasting and the history behind the different years of them. The owner was super engaging and funny to talk to. Wash one of us walked away with a bottle or two. Very excited to open them up sometime and enjoy them. It is a fantastic location that has great wine.

8th stop in the Apple Hill area. B. likes wine so he seemed to like this place. It's a small winery that the owners live in the house next to it. Driving in takes a while and it's slow going at 10 mph! They offer 3 small pours FREE if you want. B. didn't even do that, but he did try 2 and picked one for a $5/glass. He enjoyed what he got. There's a nice North Canyon view worth taking a picture. One unisex bathroom you can use in the tasting room through a door and then to the Right.

Dog friendly, delicious wine and an amazing view! Can't wait to be back. Thank you Ann :)

We take our family photo at this breathtaking location every year. We go back almost 18 years to our first visit when the vineyard had different owners and name. Ann and her husband run the most customer service friendly tasting and hosting operation in the area. When you go there you feel like family. During the pandemic they opened safely and efficiently to offer distanced tastings and sales on one of the most amazing vistas known to mankind. The wine is as great as the view and it keeps getting better. We buy La Mancha every visit and sprinkle in cider, desert wine, rose, and merlot. We enjoy trying the new and familiar varieties with our quick catchup with Ann and her family. Go often. It's like "Cheers". They always know your name and make you feel welcome.

Just a lovely view of my friend drinking

This was our last stop on an Apple Hill Day. It's true...lovely peaceful views and extremely friendly owners. Casual atmosphere and tasting is only $10, which is waived if you buy a bottle. La Mancha was my fave so of course it had to buy. Definitely worth a visit!

    Bucket list crossed off

Had a lovely experience! Beautiful vineyard with great views. Ann is the icing on any cupcake. She was so kind and accommodating, made us feel welcome from the beginning we made reservation. We had a picnic (byof) but ordered a bottle of their Aldonza dessert wine I drank it like it was kool-aid...shhhh! Don't worry, I had a designated driver. A lovely time well spent. We'll definitely plan to visit again.

Overall my favorite place in Apple Hill. The place has amazing views and great wine tasting. The people that work there have great personality and make the experience the best. They donate the tasting cost of their Merlot to support cancer research. The Syrah was my favorite, but you should ask to see their wine thief, it is quite impressive!

My husband and I have been members of the wine club for years and do kazoo caroling with the kids with them every year! This place is and amazing low-key--no pretense, pours and plenty of personality. The owner? Hilarious. Think part-winemaker, part-stand-up-comedian. The staff? Super friendly and genuinely happy to talk wine, life, or the weather in Camino. You'll feel like a regular even if it's your first visit. Now let's talk wine--because wow. Mostly reds (and they're all fantastic), but they've got a few whites that hold their own. Some standouts: Pommie: A pomegranate champagne that's basically a party in a bottle. Bubbly, fruity, and dangerously easy to love. I love them all! Just a few favorites: Dolce Bottino: A red with a name that cheekily translates to "sweet booty" . It's rich, smooth, and just a little bit flirty--like the wine version of a wink. Château Mau Faux: ( read that slow and twice ) The ultimate "any night" red. Whether you're Netflixing, grilling, or just unwinding, this one's your new best friend. Crystal Basin isn't just a tasting room--it's a vibe. Come for the wine, stay for the laughs, and leave with a bottle (or three... or a case)

I don't have to leave Apple Hill around 5 or 6 PM anymore. What a wonderful and inviting place to do a wine tasting! I received such gracious service from Mark and another male bartender. I was allowed several free sample sips before deciding what to order. If you want a proper tasting flight with a tray of 5 wine glasses (filled with 2 ounces or about an inch up the wine glass?), it costs $25 if you want to sit and drink at a table and only $15 if you are willing to stand and taste at the bar, assuming the bar isn't too busy. A glass of wine is $10 and a glass of premium wine is $20, as of 7/29/2023. There is also a Yelp check-in offer for a $15 flight of 5 wines. Mark recommended the 2020 PRIMITIVO, which is his favorite and ended up being my favorite. Smooth. The MALBEC was my 2nd favorite for its flavor. I also tried the Sangiovese, Barbera, Sinfonia, Chardonnay, and Cali Mojo. Kept on tap, the Cali Mojo tasting was ample and was served over ice cubes. So refreshingly sweet, fruity, and bubbly that I ended up ordering it! I was slow to realize you could order the CALI MOJO in colorful cans to take home. I should have done that. It's a lovely wine spritzer or wine soda. You can purchase snacks to go with your tasting. I forgot to take a look at the charcuterie offerings in a fridge, but the sweet treats are only 2 for $1. These include individually wrapped Ferrero Rocher, Madeleine cookies, and brownie bites. Very reasonably priced and thoughtful. You could also buy food from Hwy 50 Brewery next door (i.e., pizza, hot dogs, tacos, salad, fries), and you're welcome to wander, sit, drink, and listen to live music over there. Nello Olivo also sells attractive and affordable gifts. A cute blanket with cats or a pretty swimsuit or beach cover-up costs $20-$25. $6 bracelets. $8 dangling earrings. Nello Olivo is conveniently located less than 2 miles away from Boa Vista Orchards on Carson Road. I didn't realize Camino was that close. The parking lot is quite large and long, but I imagine it could get full if it's packed. Nello Olivo is in a plaza within walking distance of several other wine tasting rooms and restaurants. We ordered at the bar inside and then the wines were brought out to us on the patio. It took longer than expected to get our flights, and then we were a bit disappointed that the sommelier didn't spend much time telling us about the wines. She brought them out and told us what each wine on the flight was, then left and we never saw her again. We've had several amazing tasting experiences in wine country where the sommelier tells you many more details about the wines including where on the property the grapes are grown, how it is made, and what different notes we will taste in each wine. It was a pretty basic explanation and we didn't feel that it was very personable despite it being a slow weekday. We ordered two tastings but all the wines were brought out in small carafes, we couldn't tell if each one held enough wine for one of us or both of our tastings combined. This wasn't ever explained either, so we assumed it was for both of us to share. We still enjoyed having our wines on this beautiful property, and we were able to have our baby with us which was nice. We weren't very impressed with the wines themselves and did not have any favorites that we needed to purchase bottles of. It is $10 for a glass or a tasting which was quite the deal. The prices and atmosphere were great, but the wine and overall experience was average.
