After ordering we sat at a table where we served ourselves from their soup bar. They do not offer green onions at the bar or offer it at no extra cost like the other locations do for those that like to add it. Our food came out fairly promptly and was ok. Everything was hot but just tasted pre made and not fresh. I'm not entirely sure if I'd go back as the food taste different than the other locations. read more

Acceptable I feel is the best I can bestow upon Wok Inn. Having coworkers order this in for a training, it got the job done; that is I was not hungry afterwards but I also didn't feel overly full or gross. The flip side of it is, had I paid for this out of pocket, I would have been more so disappointed. Their website makes ordering a breeze (kudos them)! It's super streamlined and user friendly and delivery was quick. Our food arrived hot, ahead of the estimated wait time, and correct. I opted for the Cantonese Broccoli over whole grain rice with tofu and a side of egg drop soup. The portion was spot on for lunch, not too much but left me satiated. The tofu and broccoli were well coated in sauced and cooked nice but the sauce wasn't overly flavorful. The rice by itself bland but improved upon when mixed with the tofu and broccoli. The egg drop soup was a nuclear orange color, and mostly broth. There was a strand or two of egg floating in it but few and far between to be found. It not only was devoid of texture with no crispy noodles provided but also devoid of flavor. Suffice it to say I don't foresee me order from Wok Inn anytime soon especially if I am paying out of pocket rather than it being a work expense. Ordered the Teriyaki Chicken, Fried Rice, Hot Mustard, two Egg Rolls and Hot Mustard. My mistake was in not checking the order before taking it back to our house 10 miles away! Darn! What We DIDN'T get was the Fried Rice (White instead) and didn't get our Hot Mustard. We did get one packet of Soy Sauce, teriyaki chicken that looked like it was boiled and was tough as a boot, vegetables that were overdone and limp as a wet noodle, Egg Rolls that were nearly burnt and also tough to chew. The Egg Drop Soup was tasteless and terrible. We are regular Customers at the Wok Inn on Potranco and have never experienced such bad food! The good part is that the restaurant appeared New and clean and the staff seemed to be experiencing some sort of stress! They looked nervous! Like a Hamster on a wheel, everyone was moving but nobody was going anywhere or doing anything. Further when I looked at the kitchen area I SAW only ONE Person (Tall Man) working in the kitchen. Wow! I like coming here when I have to wait for my kid at Brandeis. The food is good but probably doesn't warrant a 5 star on it's own. I bumped it up because it's clean and the staff is friendly. Also there's a bottomless soup bar which is super convenient if you just want a snack or something warm to sip on that's not coffee. I love coffee and there is a Starbucks a few doors down. But sometimes caffeine is a bad idea for me in the afternoon or evening. So soup is a nice option. The soup bar has: egg drop, hot and sour, corn & chicken, and fried wanton strips as well as steamed rice. The bowls are stacked fresh out of the washer so as they cool they sometimes form a suction and get stuck together. Take a spoon and pry them apart if they give you a hard time. I usually drip with the ladle so grab some napkins too so you can wipe the counter after serving. I really enjoyed the Chap Chae... traditionally it's a Korean dish with sweet potato noodles veggies and pork. I went with shrimp today. They were plump, juicy and delicious. The veggies were finely chopped. The mushrooms were a small dice... which fit neatly on a spoon but they were hard to get with my chopsticks. I would have preferred strips for that reason but it was still flavorful. When they delivered the food to my table they offered chili oil. They came back with a small sauce container which was nice and probably more hygienic then the usual jar with a spoon. I did ask for a recommendation from the cashier for her favorite noodle. She right away said Pad Thai... so just to clarified I asked: "really?, over the Chap Chae?" ... she gave a wry smile and said "Well... if you're asking about the Chap Chae then I would go with that... it's a little bit lighter but still satisfying." So I think she said Pad Thai because it's more popular and more approachable. Many times people will give what's popular vs what their favorite is so if you are asking for recommendations it might be beneficial to clarify how they are answering your question. There's risk involved so I can understand why some peeps would interpret it that way. Lastly... if you're wondering... I thought it was unfair to subtract a star or several for bad service but not add a star for goo / great service. So I started bumping up my reviews for good but not great food but had outstanding service and Wok Inn has outstanding service for it's price point! read more

We have been coming here for years. We went for dinner and the manager was so incredibly rude. We will not be back. She was so concerned about my children getting the fried wontons and asked me very rudely if I was going to pay for their soup. They have taken away the fortune cookies so now they only give you if you request. And they have limited refills to only two. It just seems very cheap and rude. The food has been better other times. And when it came to informing me that they will bring my food to the table she couldn't do. Im angry because i order there near evey week and the last 2 of 3 times, the order was wrong. The other time, they omitted the egg rolls and when i mentioned it on my next order, they basically said i should have called immediately, while my food gets cold, instead of when i had occasion to call. I'm angry because they should be able to execute fulfilling a simple order perfectly and lately, thats not happening. But mostly im angry because they ruined my one meal for the WEEK! I frequent this establishment often. I have Ordered garlic chicken at least 3 times. Once was spicy and 2 times I asked for non spicy and Was given just that. So today I roll up, order via drive through, specifically ask if I can get it non spicy and was told yes. Drive thru lady repeated the order at the window , to include non spicy garlic chicken. I paid and off I went . I have had 2 major bowel surgeries and CANNOT EAT spicy food. Got home and opened up my food only to find that those little red peppers were all in my food. Unable to eat, I called the restaurant and was given the manager to speak to. This guy proceeded to tell me That he made the menu and he knew it was not able to be made non spicy. He never apologized. Was very argumentative, basically said there was no way I'd ever gotten that dish non spicy, and only stated that he would speak to the drive thru person as "they should know better". I visited the drive thru on December 29th, it was my first visit to this location. I have to say the service, the food, the efficiency, the polite employee working the drive thru....simply perfect! I was there about 5PM....my food was fresh, the order was correct, the young lady spoke with a smile in her voice...the overall experience was outstanding. We ordered the beef n broccoli and the lemon chicken, also ordered extra egg rolls. I was pleasantly surprised with this visit and I will definitely be going back, NICE JOB to every employee and to that store manager! Impressive service!!! read more

I've been to the one in Alamo Ranch and I was NOT impressed with the food, it's dark and depressing so I thought I'd try this one. They have nice outside seating and the restaurant looks much cleaner than other Wok Inns. The staff was nice and took the order correctly. They even bring your plate to your table. Love that there's unlimited soup. My issue: the kids meal options were limited to nuggets or fried shrimp. No beef broccoli or lo mein option. The "nuggets" were just pieces of tempura chicken with fries and a small drink. The chicken was VERY greasy as if they didn't let the chicken drip, just straight from basket to plate. The sweet and sour was the same chicken tempura with sauce on the side and the veggies that are normally cooked with the food were cold. As if it they were in the fridge already precut but never warmed up or cooked on the grill. The fried rice was bland and didn't have much flavor at all. The Mongolian chicken was delicious though. We went at dinner time so our plates were full price at $7.75, then they charge $1 for fried rice and then $2-3 for a drink. That totals about 11-12 if you round up and if you get fried rice. But definitely no egg roll with your meal, it's extra. The hot sour soup has regular mushrooms in it, not the black ones, and there were hardly any bits of tofu. If you're gonna charge full price for meals, you shouldn't skimp on the soups. So, all in all, the food is not good enough to warrant the price for dinner even with the unlimited soup bar. I'd go here for the lunch special that includes EVERYTHING for $7 but for $12 a plate and no egg roll, I'd prefer pei wei. read more

I'm not at the Hausman location, but at a brand new one across town at 281/TPC Pkwy. First time at one of these, and I recommend. You get more than enough food with the lunch special - soup, crunchy noodles, egg roll, 5-6 fried shrimp (today's special) and a ton of fried rice. The fried rice is a bit salty but has great flavor. The hot and sour sauce is warm. Soup is good; spoons are enormous. Lol. The dishes (Cashew Chicken and Pepper Steak) had the right balance of protein and veggie. I was sad that it didn't come with an egg roll. That was a separate item. Here's the other reason I docked a star - the drive-thru and the parking situation bites. The restaurant is around the corner from two bars, so you could possibly drive over someone who was either going to or coming from the bars. I would give it a 5 stars but the seats are so bad they need new ones, I had to keep seating on 5 different ones just to found one that was nice. but I would still go here and order takeout. I ordered the Lemon Chicken lunch special which comes with a choice from three options of soup (I chose the Chicken Corn), choice of egg roll or rangoons, and a drink! All for $6.25, which is an amazing deal! The food was quite tasty! Really enjoyed the fried rice and the lemon chicken. The chicken had a nice and crisp breading and it was quite juicy. The sauce, however, was a little diluted and lacking in flavor. The egg roll was also very flavorful and the fried rice hit the spot! The Chicken Corn soup was also lacking in the flavor department, but I would like to try the other soups and see if those are any good.
