Food - The food was actually really good here! I was pleasantly surprised and the the amount they give you was such a good portion I almost couldn't finish all of it. We've been coming here for years. I mean 20+ years. The quality of food and customer service has sharply declined over the past year. We tried it last night again.. rice was hard and cold. Orange chicken was dry and leathery. Egg drop soup had odd jelly clumps in it. Wontons were cold, crab Rangoons were cold. I'm going to miss happy guy!!! We visited here four times. Just to make sure it wasn't inconsistent. I see the reviews from everyone else and they are all over the place. For us it was an easy 5. Let me start of with the one and only horrible gripe we all agree on at the table. The shrimp toast that comes with the pupu platter is one of the most disgusting and vile things we had. Right up there with injera bread, and dolmas. Just NOOOO! Think of toasted bread, they soak it in vegetable oil till it's thoroughly soaked then fry a shrimp on it, with greasy breading. Never! I don't get it, the platter is amazing, just ask to get the shrimp toast substituted. Other than that everything was really good to great. Awesome portions, great pricing, and we love going late evening before they close. The ambience we love, and the wait staff is always so warm and attentive. We have yet to use the bathrooms, so can't comment on that. Besides the shrimp toast, we have yet to try an item and not like/love it. We love all the soups, but the wonton and hot and sour are the favs. For our entrees are favs were sweet and sour chicken, kung po shrimp, and general tso chicken. The kiddos love the fried rice here! The pu pu platter(sans the toast) is always ordered when we dine here. The presentation, and the other parts of the platter are great. Not sure why this place has any good reviews. It is not good. My family and I are visiting and found this place and decided to try it since it had good recent reviews. My family mostly ordered all beef and broccoli, the carrots were like straw like and chewy, the beef wasn't really tasty neither the sauce, I just did not like it. The rice was just okay, a little dry. The sesame chicken has very small pieces, the hot and sour soup was too sweet and I just didn't like it, I couldn't finish it. After reading reviews and having a craving for Chinese food we decided to give this place a try for take-out dinner. We ordered orange chicken, chicken chow mein, hot and sour soup and an order of cream cheese rangoons. We phoned in our order for pick up and the hostess said it would be ~10 mins. After arriving I noticed the ambiance was that of a typical well-established Chinese food place. I'd say "well frequented" which is something I want to see. You can tell it got a lot of traffic and has been around for some time. After paying and a brief wait the hostess came out with our order. We got home and opened everything up. The portions were amazing. You can EASILY eat 2 if not 3 times out of a single order for the entrées. The hot and sour soup was tasty and had lots of veggies, it wasn't all broth. The cream cheese rangoons were fresh and tasted great. All the condiments were included. We will definitely be back! read more

This place was recommended for a late Friday night dinner. Place was empty, but the pick up orders was steady. The place was clean. Our service was super friendly. Moving from SF Bay Area solid, authentic Chinese food is had to find. So I didn't have high expectations. I offered lemon chicken and king pao shrimp. The chicken was a slicked chicken breast lightly fried. Sauce on the side. My king pao shrimp was yummy. I would get a again. The wonton soup was okay. I would not get it again though. read more

Ordered for delivery the sweet and sour chicken early bird special at $5.25 and the fried Vietnamese spring rolls at $3.95. They ended up charging me $19.40 and no automized receipt! Used to come here is hs and wanted to try it again and it's still very delicious. I got the chop suey which has a delicious garlicky flavor in a white wine sauce. CHEAP, FAST, TASTY CHINESE FOOD! This spot truly is great! My neighbors recommended it to me and boy were they right. I bought the Lemon Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken Dinner Combo. It consisted of fried rice, egg roll, and a soup. So, for all that and two entree it because a total of $18. How awesome is that? It's in a weird outdated plaza but do not be fooled! It's so good. Searched on Yelp for a Chinese restaurant to sit down for dinner tonight. We found this place not more than 15 mins from home, reviews were decent, they had a grade A from the Health Dept, so... we walked on in. The greeting at the door was lukewarm, no one seemed to smile but by the end of the night, I must say that the service was actually good. Our server, who called my husband "sweetheart" at least four times was very attentive in refilling our drinks throughout the evening. The food was pretty good, too! read more

Decided to stop and try something different today. Have had their food catered but never stopped in the Restaurant. Boy they get a lot of to go business! The whole time I was there people were stopping in to order to go or coming in to pick it up. Only a few of us were dining in. But it was early yet. Nice selection on the menu. Had hoped to make early dinner but missed it by a little bit. No biggie. Decided to try something different. We all have our several go to dishes but making an effort to expand my selection this year. So went with Shrimp Szechuan and that old favorite Beef broccoli which they offered as a combination but of course steamed rice for me. We could have a long discussion about why no fried rice for me but nothing to do with this restaurant so let's move on. The egg drop soup I inhaled. The chips were not greasy and had a good flavor. I enjoyed the rest of the meal..their Szechuan was not too hot for me and brought some home to use making an Ome rice the next day. That's an omelet with a fried leftover Chinese inside that they make in Japan. Will I stop again...you bet! If it was closer I would be in there way too much. Now this is spiced for American taste but I'm sure if you asked they would adjust for you. There was hot mustard, chili oil and sriracha if you wanted to use it. Have not been to Happy Guy since Anna, the previous owner sold. Picked up General Chicken, which was one of favorites before! When I went in to pick up our order I noticed right away the weight of the bag...........Obviously much smaller portions than before! The chicken was good but rice was very dry. Also employees not friendly like Anna and her staff used to be! Also took a to go menu and WOW! I know the state of our country and economy etc. but OMG General Chicken used to be $7.50-$7.95.......Now it is $9.20!!! Probably won't be returning as often. read more

Fried rice isn't even "fried". Looked more like white rice to me. I got the sweet and sour chicken plate and the chicken was like rubber.
