I got the orange chicken. I wasn't a very big fan cause I like it sweeter, but my girlfriend loved it because of the garlicy taste.

I've only tried the bubble tea so far. Went late one night. It was much better than I expected. I had the plain black milk tea and a strawberry mango smoothie. They were both very good. The boba could have been a little fresher but I was there near closing. Definitely worth the money though, especially in Brighton. Next I want to try their food. Will update after that. read more

We were very disappointed by this place given all the high ratings. The food was pretty greasy. We tried garlic vegetables stir fried which had few, if any Chinese vegetables. The veggies were fresh and tasty and the garlic was flavorful but it was greasy. The dry chicken was nicely flavored but it was deep fried and also greasy. The shrimp shuumai were ok. We got a free boba tea which was good. It's not a nice atmosphere to eat in; might try takeout once to give another chance. read more

I never write Yelp reviews but had to for the next person to save themselves and order somewhere else. My boyfriend wanted to download Yelp just to tell everyone how terrible the duck sauce is, if you can even call it duck sauce. The crab Rangoon is filled with a mild flavored cream cheese. "Chicken dumplings" are like Trader Joe's Frozen gyoza. Worst Chinese take out we have ever had. Surprise they are still in business. read more

I've lived in the neighborhood for years and spent a number of years in Asia growing up, I think it's fair to say that they deliver across the board from Chinese, Thai, and other Asian cuisines. I generally believe two things about Chinese food: there is no such thing as 'gourmet' Chinese food and there is no such thing as bad Chinese food. I've now revised my thinking on the later. I ordered EC15, the Cashew combo which by my choosing, came with chicken gyozo and brown rice. The chicken gyozo was bland, uninteresting and tough. The ginger/soy dipping sauce with which it came was surprisingly good, with layers of flavor. The only other good part of the order was the brown rice. I appreciate that they offer brown rice. As for the chicken cashew dish...I don't believe I've ever had a Chinese dish which I considered 'bad.' This was a first and I'm not picky, especially about Chinese food on a Saturday evening. First of all was the smell. It was clear either the chicken or the cashews were rancid; I suspect it was the chicken. As for the cashews, they were soft and mealy. Not soft as in "it's been on top of hot food for 15 minutes in a closed container" soft, but not good soft. They had no flavor or texture, other than mealy and were white. I suspect they were the low end unroasted cashews. They should at least have roasted them. But that was the least of the problems with this dish. It had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. There was some gelatinous goo on some pieces of food. The dish was plenty warm, so it wasn't that 'next morning' goo on cold over Chinese food. Someone went very heavy handed on the corn starch. But even with too thick a sauce, if the sauce had any flavor, it still would have come through. I even tried the goo itself, hoping to find at least some flavor, but it had none. Every piece of food, the chicken, cashews, vegetables all tasted the same: completely bland. Even with a tasteless sauce, I would expect the individual ingredients to have some variation in taste. There was none. And then there was the lingering rancid smell. On the plus side, delivery was only $2.00 (of which the driver gets none). It was delivered within, or reasonably close to the 45 minute time frame they gave. Overall, I would never go there again unless I was feeling magnanimous and wanted to give them a second chance. But I suspect what I received is their standard quality. Quite disappointing. read more

Ordered last night from postmates. Super speedy, got everything correct. I should've specified so this is partially my fault, but the veggies that came with the orange chicken combo were gross. This place is sooooo good! I lived right near here and would always order late night food. Get the steamed pork dumplings, you will NOT be disappointed. They also have bubble tea which I always have a hard time finding. They are friendly and the food never disappoints. I order the food around 9:15 and it was delivered before 9:40. I order pork fried rice and sweet n sour chicken. The sweet and sour chicken was NOT sweet and sour chicken but orange chicken. I don't mind orange chicken but it was really sweet in a weird way. My roommates all felt similar. And the pork fried rice was very lazy...like they threw in all the veggies they could find from the kitchen and tossed them in. Neither was terrible but I definitely won't order again. Terrible service. I live 2 miles from the restaurant, but because it is a different area code they charged me a $2.50 delivery fee. Fine. I get my food and one of the largest items is not inside. I call back and politely ask if they can send it AND THE GUY SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ANOTHER DELIVERY FEE. I explained that he forgot my fiances meal, and he still said they would charge me. You should make an exception if the mistake is on you, especially since I live 2 MILES from the restaurant. Will NEVER get my service again. Terrible. read more

A new Chinese place in town. You get a lot of food for the price. If you spend over $20 ask for the free spring rolls. For $24 I got General Gaos, some noodles/fried rice entree, extra fried rice that goes with the general gaos, and the spring rolls. The best asian restaurant in town. I went there when traveling to Boston in March 2016, and ordered Curry Fried Rice with House (beef, chicken and shrimp) with soda for $15. I was surprised with the taste of the food I ordered. The service was great but the restaurant only fits 3 tables. You have to order and pay first. read more

Former late-night patrons of Hoy Hing, the shady restaurant that used to be here, will be astounded. They've renovated the space, and it's so much brighter and cleaner that it feels like a completely different location. Stopped in for a late-night bite (1 am) and was impressed by how fresh the ingredients were and the care they put into my dish, especially at that hour. The owner was upbeat, friendly and quick to accommodate a modification on my order. He later instructed the chefs to make my meal again when they accidentally added the fish sauce I didn't want. He even included a free sample (read: whole plate) of their best seller, Orange Chicken in my to-go bag. Food was simple, but delicious. Leftovers were even better the next day. Unlike it's predecessor, Wok n Talk is a place I'd gladly visit in daytime hours and is definitely a welcome addition to Boston's late-night food scene. read more

Disgusting. Ordered 3 dishes for delivery and the food was barely edible. We took 2-3 bites before throwing the whole order out...and it STILL made all of our stomachs upset. The chicken was rubbery and brittle. The Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, and Crab Rangoon were completely flavorless and cold. Tried to get a hold of the restaurant for a refund, but had to go through the delivery service. The restaurant finally called me and argued with me saying they couldn't offer a full refund because I waited until the next day to call them rather than calling them the same night to have the delivery driver come back and pick up the food to take back to the restaurant. It was midnight and we were starving, so this was clearly not an option for us. After arguing back and forth and making a million excuses for why they couldn't refund the full order, they FINALLY agreed to refund only SOME of the cost of the order. 0/10. Placed an order at 8:15pm and was given a 9:15pm delivery estimate. Called at 9:30 to check in and was told they would contact the driver and call me back. Did not hear from anyone so called back at 9:45 and was told driver was 5 minutes away. When I reminded them that the food was a half hour late already, the guy on the phone said "ok I'll call him and tell him to drive faster. At 10pm I received a call that my food was here so I went down the hall and no one was at the door. Called the driver back and he stated he was parking his car. Then, the food was cold!! We were walk ins and we're pleased by the brightness & cleanliness of the restaurant. The young man behind the counter was very helpful & patient with us as we navigated an unfamiliar menu!! It was a little pricey BUT- you definitely know that fresh ingredients had been used- the food had a lightness to it. So I saw Wok and Talk on Foodler and yelped it. What got pulled up was another Wok and Talk, located elsewhere in Boston- not great reviews but same menu. This Wok and Talk had very few reviews and just had opened. Craving more varieties of dumplings than most standard Chinese places had, I rolled the dice, took the risk- and did it pay off! There are no places around here that carry the Shrimp Hargow and the Chinese Shimp/Pork Shumai. while the delivery time toughens them a bit, I remoisten them with a damp paper towel placed over them for 30 seconds in the microwave. Other dishes are non greasy and tasty. They aren't stingy with meat and the veggies seem fresh. The only knock is that they are a bit pricey. I am willing to pay a bit more for quality but it is probably around a 25-30% increase from regular standard Chinese fare. Doesn't mean I won't order from them but it does mean I will order from them less frequently.**edit- one more knock on the place- They don't use the noodles specified. Ordered Chow Fun, received what looked like fetuccine which is A- not a rice noodle, and B half the width. Ordered Soba and received what looked like angel hair pasta? This place is still good but their Chow foon/Soba is NOT as advertised. read more
