A Solid JP favorite that survives and persists. A local seafood and Japanese and Korean farrago of food choices. For the lunch special, you get a filling assortment of choices that surround the center, be it fried fish, tempura or teriyaki, etc. The tempura batter was light , the fish equally so. Not our first time there, and we'll be back again

We live in the neighborhood and are regulars here, and are never dissatisfied. Contrast to what you might assume from the name, it's actually a Korean and Japanese restaurant. We got the vegetable dumplings, teriyaki tofu, and bulgoki (as we do frequently); we didn't order them this time, but the green bean fries are also a favorite. Service was friendly, and it was quiet and fairly relaxing for a Sunday dinner. We did sit on the "adult" side, in contrast to the kid side with fish tanks; it's usually louder on that side. It's worth explicitly mentioning that the consistency here is fabulous; every time we order we get exactly what we did the last time, and it's always good. We'll come back, and I definitely recommend it!

Good service. Quiet atmosphere. Good food and tasty sake, hot or cold! Only downside were the flies. It was a little distracting. They were on the walls and paintings. If you swatted them it made it worse. Other than that delicious. Maybe would return to sit at bar. They did have another side that looked like it was to serve larger crowds.

We ordered sushi takeout from here previously and the fish is certainly fresh and delicious. They are very busy for indoor dining but it's worth it for the Ok Dol Bimbimbap in house!! Sashimi salad was good too. The fish and chips is done in the same manner as their sister restaurant evergreen and I would probably ask them to double fry the chips.

Great bar and general seating area if frequenting earlier in the day in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Service was quick and very friendly for a first time visitor, even had a chance to chat with the owner for a bit which is a nice touch interacting with customers that frequent the establishment. I know, I know, enough chit chat how about the food Dave? Took the awesome recommendation from the team and went with an 8 piece tender meal as it gives two options of flavors with half/half option. So I grabbed fire and Gangnam spice and both were able to curb my late night spice craving. Waffle fries round out the combo with a can of soda (Coke products) to wash it down with. Meal was full of flavor and tasty indeed! Look forward to trying that fried rice and some wings next go around. Being in the road, tenders were the easiest option for the take out plan!

We tried both the wings and the tenders, in all 3 of the flavor varieties, and my winner was the Gangnam Spice: a savory BBQ-like flavor seemingly baked into the coating, which did not need the accompanying sauce (only 2 mayo-based sauces available). The chicken traveled well during takeout and was still hot and crispy- the waffle fries unfortunately did not.

We found KChickin nearby on Peterborough Street and they're open until 9:30pm. We walked quickly over as hunger is a good motivator to walk fast. The restaurant has takeout but offered enough space to hold three famished Fenway newbies. Service was quickly and friendly and the food was served fairly quickly. Seems like most restaurants begin at the suggested 18% tip to start. Some calculate their tipping suggestions at your subtotal before adding the taxes to your bill. This restaurant included the taxes as part of its tip calculation so be aware that you're actually tipping more than 18%. FYI: as a customer, you decide how much to tip for quality service. Bringing your orders to your table is basic. How many times they filled your water cups and check up on you are important and expected. Tipping is not automatic in my humble opinion. Servers who work diligently for their tips so tip accordingly to those who provided a great dining experience.

We are told that the restaurant owner, Chef Hajime Yamazaki, uses his mother's recipes and the restaurant signature is their samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) which is offered with each set. Each set comes with nine house-made banchan (side dishes). I feel that this restaurant makes a great experience for two. I came as a family of four, two children, and it was just enough food. The sides dishes that accompanied the main was very tasty. I especially enjoyed the zucchini. The scallop was delicious. My husband especially enjoyed the chapjae noodles, claiming it was the best he has ever had. I think its appeal was simple clean ingredients. The jokbal, boiled belly, was very clean tasting as well. I was a bit disappointed with this one item and wished I went with the alternative option on the menu. As for the main chicken ginseng soup, our waiter, served this dish to us while telling us the concept of the restaurant, about the owner and his journey and mother's recipe. The story, about 5 minutes long was enjoyable while she took apart and served us the soup. I wished she didn't shred the entire chicken the way she did, literally to shreds. I would have liked to pull apart the chicken myself and served my kids. I understand many Korean restaurants have the server serve by the table but for this dish, I would have liked to serve my family myself. The taste was very clean. I do wish it had a bit more white pepper flavor. Customer service was outstanding. I would recommend going as a couple or group of four at most. Reservations are recommended. There is street parking. During my visit, walk-ins were being accepted since the restaurant was not completely booked. The server had to explain to walk-in patrons that the restaurant is strict on their set menus and that it was dine in service only.

Kalbi was super soft and tender with a delicious broth (though again, rice?). The samgyetang was something really special with the sweet rice on the bottom of the soup. I think this place is really special for their samgyetang. I would come back again and have just that. Service was super nice though!
