A "ghetto" chinese food joint. It's one of those joints that has food already prepared on steam tables so it's just order and go. It's got all the standard dish waiting: brocoli beef, orange chicken, mushroom chicken... with fried rice or fried noodles. It's not the most visually appealing place, but it's pretty darn cheap and the food is decent for this type of place. You can eat there, but it'd probably be better to get it to go. read more

I've been eating here since 2002, back when the 2-item combo was only $3.75, or $3.95, all I could remember was it being less than $4.50 after tax. Anyway, things never changed here in terms of food quality and consistency. The food is f'ing awesome, I always come here for the garlic chicken with potatoes. Good Buddha that always tastes so good. I'm gonna keep this short (because they're not worth my time) I came here a couple of months ago, and I didn't like the service. The food was alright for strip mall Chinese food. I mean--you don't come to these type of establishments for excellence. When I ordered from here, the young lady behind the counter seemed uneasy with me, and was giving me a look like, "hurry up and buy". Came here after walking out of "Chinese Friends" nearby because of the high prices. This place is exactly what I wanted: fast, cheap, delicious Chinese takeout. I was looking for a Chinese place to eat and came here because of the reviews I found. This is your normal Chinese fast food restaurant. However, the food is nice and fresh, and you can tell it wasn't sitting under the warmer waiting for an unsuspecting victim to get sick off of the chow mein. I liked it better than Panda or Pick Up Stix because they are not trying to add an American blend to Chinese fast food. The chow mein has enough oil in it, but not so much that you have a horrible cough after eating the meal. I ordered the two item combo with half chow mein and half rice. The total was under $5.00 without a drink. I asked about their items and the lady behind the counter gave me a sample. An extra plus because they're Cambodian, and well I just like supporting my Cambodian folks. If you don't mind being warm, you can sit inside. I've been going to wok wok for a while And yes they have good Chinese style food But one thing I hate is that sometimes they charge extra for no reason I've caught them several times already and if you ask for extra shrimp or something like that they charge you without giving you the extra shrimp or extra stuff and if they do it's only one or 3 more then normal which is ridiculous Also they don't like that you call things to their attention and so they are vengeful One time the lady thought I didn't pay for my drink and made a big fuss until the cashier told her I payed everything and she pretended like nothing happened after accusing me I've also caught those little flies they carry around on my food and question how much they cook the chicken on special orders I stopped going to wok wok after Xmas because the thing that made me the most upset was that little short girl who has a big attitude problem she treats people like crap and she doesn't even know that some of us customers are also business owners That can buy the whole joint read more

Its hard to find cheap, fast Chinese food that is also edible... They have all the essentials plus some dishes that are not as common but still appealing. When I am craving it, I go here for my cheap orange chicken. But don't come here expecting P.F. Chang at these prices. The service is always very friendly. A note on the seating: This is one of the very few cheap Chinese food places that are actually suitable for groups. Man I love those booths! Its just something about them. Fast and cheap. I used to come here a lot before another better Chinese place opened up nearby. Orange chicken is good and worth it. Fried and steamed rice is good, as is the chow mein. Barbeque chicken is tasty. Everything else is pretty mediocre to be honest. I've tried the other selections (kung pao, chicken with potatoes, beef and broccoli) and they are either way too spicy or just taste bad. It is a typical fast food Chinese place. All the food is already made. You probably won't hate it, but you certainly won't love it and it isn't going to make you want to come back. Unless you live around the corner like I do or just want some orange chicken. Prices are good I will give it that, and you get a lot. Ive been to this establishment before. It wasn't bad, but it wasnt good either. Came here for lunch and I must say I am disappointed. I ordered the chow mein, orange chicken and teriyaki chicken. Lets start with the chow mein. It was bland as heck. Vegetables were soggy, really soggy. Noodles were a nightmare. I couldn't tell if it was actual chow mein or vermicelli noodles colored orange. It was a fail. The orange chicken. Umm, isnt it suppose to look orange or taste sweet? Not this one. It looked like fried chicken pieces dusted in salt. I couldnt taste the "orange" flavor anywhere. My first bite was like eating a pinch of salt. Totally disgusting. Teriyaki chicken? More like crapiyaki chicken. More salt than anything. I know the food sits out for awhile under a hot lamp, but this was just ridiculous. My chicken was cold. The teriyaki sauce was hot, but just tasted like hot soy sauce. More saltiness. The staff looks unhappy working there. The woman who took my order looked annoyed when I was telling her what I wanted. She rolled her eyes not once, but twice. Really? This is the customer service you provide? wow. This place has really gone downhill through the years. If you want chinese food, try Chinese Friends down the street. Convenient fast food Chinese with more of a homemade taste (and probably way less sodium!). Everything we've tried has been delicious - the broccoli is well seasoned, the orange chicken is the best I've had in this neighborhood, etc. the portions are generous and the prices are low. Love that I don't feel like I'm dying of thirst a few hours later after I eat here because everything is flavorful but not drowning in sauce. I'm so glad this is on my way home from work so I can just pop in and grab dinner (with leftovers for lunch) for about $8. I get a heaping container of food each time. I didn't intend on eating here. I knew I had to do laundry and I wanted to try the Indian place around the corner, but I saw 50 million people in the Indian place and I was feeling a bit antisocial, so I figured I'd to Chinese takeout. The place has big red booths in the middle, suitable for big groups and smaller ones along the walls. I balked for a second, as I have a big belly and that isn't too compatible with booths sometimes, but I fit and the table height was high, which I like. The young lady behind the counter started pulling off covers from some of the dishes. I don't know it was a presentation thing or a way of keeping some dishes from drying out, but I liked it. (She did the same thing for a man who came in a few minutes later.) I chose steamed rice and chowmein, some vegetables and a spicy chicken with potato. The rice was moist, but not too wet with a pleasant smell and taste. I would venture to say it was Jasmine rice. The chow mein was a little saltier than most places, but it was a good flavor, especially with the vegetables. The vegetables were in a very light sauce. The cabbage and broccoli weren't overcooked. I only got one piece of squash, which was ok. The carrot was a little overdone. But they were light tasting and fresh. The spicy chicken and potato was good. The potato held up without disintegrating into mealiness. The chicken pieces were large, probably chicken thighs. I ate in a booth by the door, as it was a bit warm today. I would go back, if I'm on this side of town, but I wouldn't make a special trip here. The food is a little more than some other steam table Chinese places, but the food is a bit better here, too. so I think it is worth it. read more

I took a few bites of my food and ended up throwing it away. Everything tasted as if it had been sitting out way too long. The chow mein was thin and tasted over cooked, and the teriyaki chicken was extremely dry and over seasoned. I wouldn't recommend this place. I eat at this place once every two weeks. This is cheap Chinese food and it is good. I love the spicy chicken and the orange chicken, and their Tai Tea with boba's is the bomb. And they give you good amount of food. This place is 10 times better then Yoshinoya. The workers are really nice and friendly. As for the inside, it looks like your local private owed burger joint. My family and I love this place.. We have been eating here for about 6 years... When we have friends or family in town we always take them for a meal here and we are never disappointed... My daughter loves the chow mien we buy it a box at a time. Can't beat 4 item meal for $5.95... My husband works local and will eat here once a week for his lunch/ dinner break... Wok Wok is our go-to for cheap, tasty Chinese food! The food always tastes fresh (try the spicy potato chicken!) and even though they've cut down on the size of their styrofoam containers, the servings are still a good size. For me, the fun part of going to Wok Wok is challenging myself to see if I can make the cheerless servers behind the counter smile at me and respond when I ask them how they're doing. Been coming here since I was a kid. The owners recognized our family as regulars. However since the past couple of years their food has declined. Not what I remembered it to be. I know orange chicken should taste very close to orange but when they started putting orange in the mix it was a complete turn off to the food. Won ton soup isn't what it used to be either, as well as the chow mein. It comes out burnt now. Prices went up and food quality declined. To top it off customer service isn't the same either. They are in a rush to get you out. If you are trying to make a decision on what you want they roll their eyes at you. And this is someone who has been a loyal customer throughout the years. I am no longer a patron of this place. Theres actually a better spot on Hawthorne and marine where the El Super grocery store is.
