By the end of the meal, I realized this wasn't the kind of place people visit once for the novelty but it is the kind of place they keep coming back to because it simply makes them feel comfortable. I've had may fair share of jjamppong over the years, and this was easily one of the cleanest, most satisfying versions I've tried. Their white jjamppong is the best one so far. The broth had a comforting depth without feeling overly heavy, and every spoonful was packed with ingredients. They definitely didn't skimp on the seafood and vegetables, which made the entire bowl feel hearty and well balanced rather than just being mostly noodles and broth. If you enjoy a little heat, do yourself a favor and ask extra spicy. The added spice gives the broth another layer of flavor and beings everything together beautifully without completely overpowering the dish. I'd happily return, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a spot that values consistency and hospitality just as much as the food itself.

Compared to other mala chains, Pixiu's broth stands out to be clean, flavorful, and consistent. It's Korean-style so the taste isn't the same as the traditional Chinese mala, but I love the nuttiness and clean flavor from this (they accommodate nut allergy as well). The ingredients are super fresh and high quality, and the sauce bar is unmatched, Sichuan chili oil being my favorite! They also serve complimentary rice upon request!! The restaurant has a lot of seating and gets super busy during lunch rushes, especially during the weekend but wait time goes by pretty quick. The space is always clean and feels very sanitary. This is on the pricier end for malatang, but I have to admit the quality definitely reflects it. They do stamp cards that you can redeem for free select menu items, which I really like!

The dumplings were called rolling because I assume they were rolled out and shaped into balls - spherical meat stuffing balls covered with a thin dumpling wrapper. I've eaten dumplings my entire life but this type of dumpling was a first for me so I was very interested in trying this out. Turns out the dumplings were pretty good. It does fall apart pretty easily when picking them up with chopsticks to dip into the sauce which was a bit annoying, so you should be mindful and careful of that if ordering them. The yukkaejang was not the best I've had but it was still pretty good. Prices were fair and the quality of food was solid. I wish they served free water as they make you buy bottles of water if you ask them for water. But with all that being said, I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.
