What I Ordered: BBQ Beef $12.99 2x Chicken Skewer $2.50 each BBQ Mix $20.99 Chicken Katsu $12.99 Food: My favorite menu item was definitely the BBQ beef plate, which came with BBQ beef, rice, mac salad, and vegetables. The beef was well marinated and surprisingly tender, and I love that it came with rice, mac salad, and vegetables for a well balanced meal. The Chicken Skewers were also a great value deal with it being only $2.50 each. The chicken marinade was spicier than I thought it would be, but it was a good combination of sweet, spicy, and savory flavor profiles. Honestly for $2.50, the price can't really be beat. For those who want to try a bit of everything, I would recommend the BBQ mix that comes with BBQ Beef, Kalbi, and BBQ Chicken. The Kalbi was perfectly grilled and marinated, which honestly says a lot coming from a Korean person! The BBQ chicken was not as well marinated and a bit dry, but you have a variety of sauces available to enhance the flavors according to your preference. The Chicken Katsu was a great value meal that came with a lot of food as I literally needed a rubber band to close the lid of the box. Make sure to ask for a side of katsu sauce as that was a game changer for me eating the meal. Staff: All of the staff members were friendly and quick. Ambiance: Indoor seating only. The space is not too big with only 5 tables, so it looked like a lot of people were getting the food to go.

Swung by during my lunch, service was top notch, and the food...I simply have no words to describe how amazing it truly was. Worth the money, worth the visit. Menu was visibly displayed as well, and the ambiance was inviting.

Hawaii-style family feast is here Chicken skewers are just $2 same street-food vibes you'd find in Asia. Need a bigger plate? Their big meat boxes range from $10-$18. Highly recommend the musubi (kids love it!) and the BBQ beef ribs - 6 big ribs, tons of meat for just $18. Came with the whole family -5 boxes fed 4 of us with extra left over!!! IG: socalhkfoodies

Crazy Find! Found a Hawaiian spot in Buena Park, CA that got me in the door with $2 Grilled Chicken Skewers. With Aloha's teriyaki sauce, I'm in love and it's soooo good. But wait a minute, I ordered Aloha Hawaiian BBQ. The pricing fits into my budget !!! Portions alone, I felt it was double/triple meat compared to what I normally get . I was speechless and the taste and flavor, was exactly the same as other popular spots. The teriyaki sauce from the pumps were the same!!! I will be here on repeat! I am crazy thrilled that Aloha is now located in Buena Park, in the same parking lot as Northgate Market. Recommend 10/10. Our lunch order: - BBQ Chicken & Katsu $16.52 - BBQ Mix: Chicken, Beef & Galbi $17.56 - Musubi (2) & Chicken Skewers (3) $10.35 Extra Chicken Skewers are $2

Welcome to the neighborhood, Aloha Hawaiian BBQ! I dropped by the new location of this business near Northgate Market and had a delicious lunch. The menu offers classic Hawaiian meals from mini to large plates, as well as side dishes. From the $10 Meal menu, I ordered the Chicken Katsu, which came with macaroni salad and rice. The meal was freshly made, hot, and crispy. The portions of the katsu were generous for the price. I also ordered Spam Musubi for five bucks for two pieces. The Spam to rice ratio was a little off, with more rice than Spam, yet it was tasty and filling. The chicken skewer was juicy and tender, good flavors, but could have used a little more char on the outside. Fountain drinks are available and currently free with an order during the grand opening. The service was friendly and the dining area was clean and tidy. There are about five tables inside, but no patio seating. Giving this initial visit a five-star rating and looking forward to coming back!

The food was really tasty and the portions are awesome. We usually go to Ono but decided to try this and I think we found our new spot. The service was awesome and quick, they made sure we had what we needed. It was very chill, and my wife loved it.

You can't go wrong with Hawaiian BBQ. What really makes Aloha BBQ stand out is the generous portions of protein! I thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ chicken and the skewers. The beef was soft and tender. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

    Overly marinaded beef

Not good! I hate leaving bad reviews and I usually give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, but this place is just bad. Ordered 2 meals; 1) Teri Beef plate and 2) Teri Chicken Sticks bowl. The beef was tough and tasted like it was marinaded for days. Such a strong flavor that overwhelmed my taste buds and I couldn't enjoy my meal. The chicken was dry and lacked flavor. Which surprised me after tasting the overly marinaded beef. With Matiki's right up the steet along with The Loft, skip this place and enjoy a good meal elsewhere.

I'd never been there before, so this review is all about first impressions. As we approached, the sign caught my attention: "Under New Ownership." Outside, an employee sat scrolling on his phone. It was a quiet Sunday around 3 PM, and we were the only patrons in sight. Checking Yelp beforehand had been a bit of a letdown, as their menu featured items they no longer offer. No links were available either. We ordered half a pound of pulled pork, half a pound of brisket, and four pieces of cornbread--all priced reasonably. Their tap selection turned out to be decent. The Cali Squeeze Blood Orange was a standout, and they also seemed to carry Firestone Walker products, including 805. The staff were friendly and responsive, which was refreshing. While the brisket had cooled by the time we got home, it was still tender and flavorful--just like the pulled pork. The real surprise? The chimichurri that accompanied the brisket--an unexpected and delightful touch. Overall, I'd rate the experience as average. While it's clear they've got potential, a bit more effort could turn Wholly Smokes into a go-to spot. Leaning in on those small details would really elevate the experience.

The beef ribs were really good, big and properly cooked, the kind of meat you actually talk about on the way home. The galbi was right there with them, savory and satisfying, and between the two we were set. The kids loved the spam musubi. That alone would have made the stop worth it for us. Spam musubi is one of those things that either works for kids or turns into a negotiation, and here there was no negotiation. They were happy, which meant the adults got to eat in peace for a minute. Dessert sealed it. They have a version of Dole Whip that tastes just like Disneyland. I am not being cute about that. Same soft, cold, pineapple hit you remember from the park, which is a wild thing to get after a plate of ribs in Anaheim. We finished full and already half-planning the next visit. One caveat: it was really smoky inside. Enough that I noticed it the whole meal. If I could give 4.5 I would, but I'm rounding up because the food was that good. Portions felt solid for a plate-lunch place, the vibe was casual and family-friendly, and nothing about the meal felt fussy. I have only been once with my sister and her family after a morning of pickleball. Mostly every item is sold separately other than a couple of bowls and sandwiches. They do have family meals starting at $80+ which includes your pick of 4 meats and 4 sides. Unfortunately, the majority of items are upcharged, so it gets pretty pricey real quick. But they have some really interesting and delicious options since it's a fusion of BBQ with Asian flavors. The pick 4 family meal is advertised for 4 adults. It was 5 of us (3 adults and 2 kids) so we got the smallest of the meals. My sister and her husband really wanted the beef ribs (this is only available on Sundays, and it adds $40 to the total). We also got 1/2 rack of pork ribs (+$10), pulled pork and smoked brisket (+$4). My favorite of the meats was the brisket. Next time we said we will double up on that. For the sides, we got tallow fries (+$1), cornbread (+$1), sesame slaw, and pandana pudding (+$3). The honey butter they serve with the cornbread is sooo delicious and the sesame slaw has a unique zing to it. The pandana pudding was an AMAZING dessert!! Loved the pandan flavor in the banana pudding. Would definitely get that again. You wait a good while in line, and then they give you a buzzer while you wait and look for a table in the outdoor area. We got lucky and found a table with shade provided by an avocado tree. The establishment also has a variety of adult drinks on tap: beer, wine and selzters as well as canned/bottled drinks. They even have lemonades and sangrias at times. There is a sandbox, plenty of space for kids to run around, areas to climb, outdoor games like the giant connect 4 at times and sandbag toss. It's a great space to hang out and chill with the family. Can't wait to come back! Main con: you may have to park a couple blocks away. Some of the tables are in complete sun with little-to-no shade. Hopefully they get more shade options set up.

I chose the brisket, crispy pork belly, pork char siu, and pork ribs and added a sausage link. I selected the dirty rice, spicy cucumbers, beef tallow fries and coleslaw as our sides. Upon ordering we then went to find a seat. Your options are endless. There's actually no dining area inside the renovated house converted to a restaurant. There is seating outside along the perimeter of the house under shaded awning. There is also seating in teepees or a wooden bus or picnic tables throughout the cottage grounds. We chose to stay close to the main restaurant in order to get napkins and drink refills and bbq sauce and able to take in the Sunday afternoon football game on the big screen. The food was impressive for value as well as taste. All the meats were a hit. We especially enjoyed the crispy pork belly and pork ribs. The brisket was lacking juiciness but was smoky and tender and lacked a little salt. Our favorite side was the beef tallow fries, spicy cucumbers and the slaw with tangy vinaigrette helped cut the richness of the meats. We ended on the padana banana pudding which I thought was such a perfect way to end such a hearty smoky meat filled meal. Not overly sweet but chefs kiss delightful. I look forward to a return visit to try other meats and sides and desserts. Thanks @hungryformunchies for your instagram reel review.
