When BH first opened there were 1 hr waits for a table during the summer. Then Liangs took it over fully - even the BH phone number. Over time it evolved into a takeout and that big restaurant was more space than they needed. Years after they moved into the main business district and opened your standard takeout place. But the food never changed and my entire family LOVED it. Their egg rolls - plump and tasty and fried just right. Their egg standards were excellent. Chicken chow mein, egg foo young, shrimp and lobster sauce, beef and broccoli, pepper steak and more. I ordered so often they knew my address and would add a complimentary 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke. And they always remembered Diet. Nice people. For a month or so, I'd call and get a message that they were on vacation. I assumed perhaps they went to visit home and shut down for a month or so - a trip thousands of miles to the far east to visit family wouldn't normally be short. But now I don't get the message anymore and someone noted that they walked by the store and it was vacant? Can this be true? After 25 or more years it's all gone? If it is can someone recommend a similar place nearby? Just your regular non fancy takeout is what we love. Nothing fancy.

Large enough for a meal with side of miso soup -- which was chuck full of micro-diced tofu and greens. Another table someone ordered the gorgeous Sweetheart Roll -- served in composed heart shapes. Ambitious, she'd ordered that and another specialty roll so more than half or each went home with her. The bento box her husband ordered looked very large but an added side of veggies was called for as barely any but a garnish worth in the box. I hear they have some dessert items but didn't see anyone with room enough to order anything. For the non-sushi lovers in your party, there are many chicken or beefy hibachi offerings. Very limited seating so reserve, go early, or do take away. They moved things around to accommodate my recent solo visit for dinner at 7pm on a Monday. I was headed back to Philly after this last Ventnor dinner so I ordered a Rainbow Roll to go. I didn't want the experience to end. I enjoyed half of it for lunch next day. The rest for dinner with large homemade salad. It had been packed tight and stayed fresh in my fridge. Oh, sure, I want to return to the shore for sun, swimming, and friends but mostly I can't wait to eat here again! How did I not know about it?!

I ordered miso soup to start, and you really can't go wrong with that. For my appetizer, I ordered the Sushi Pizza. The waitress recommended it, and I personally think they absolutely knocked it out of the park. It had a crispy base topped with fresh sashimi and a delicious aioli sauce. It wasn't flimsy, soggy, or falling apart, it was perfectly crunchy and absolutely delicious. Definitely a big portion I had to take half to go but I don't mind! For my main course, I ordered the Triple Delight Sashimi. I'm very picky when it comes to sashimi, and the quality here was fantastic. The slices were thick, fresh, and simply melted in your mouth. My boyfriend ordered the veggie tempura and couldn't stop talking about how much he enjoyed it. It looked crispy and smelled delicious. I'm pretty sure I spoke with the owner, who was an extremely nice lady. She came over to refill our water and see how we were enjoying our meal, which really added to the experience. I forgot the name of the cake I ordered, but it was sweet, simple, and light, a perfect way to end my meal. I love this place so much. I asked ChatGPT where I should go for sushi, and it recommended Rainbow for its prices, portions, and because it was one of the most highly raved-about spots. ChatGPT didn't lie! I'll definitely be spreading the word about Rainbow and how great the food and overall experience were. If you're craving quality sushi without breaking the bank, make the drive. It's on a cute little street, and you won't regret it. I'll definitely be coming back every time I visit Atlantic City!

We ordered the mild 4 person boil and asked for a bowl of hot spice on the side and oOooOo man- it did not disappoint! It's a BYOB and the liquor store is right next door so of course we grabbed a white wine to go with the seafood. The waiter took our drink orders, brought some wine glasses with the sodas, uncorked and poured our drinks; then returned with fried rice, hush puppies, calamari, noodle lo mein. We noshed on that a bit and then... this platter of mussels, clams, shrimp, eggs, crab legs, corn, potatoes, gets placed on the table and we all dig in with our gloved hands and get to work de-shelling and cracking our shellfish! Now I love garlic- it's on of my favorite flavors- this boil had such a delicious blend of garlic and Cajun flavors we couldn't get enough of it. With every piece of meat we opened we also dipped into the seasoning in the platter and the hot spice was also so very delicious and I was happy we ordered it on the side as it was spicy but flavorful too. After we were done you can wash your hands at the wash station and or use some of the wipes provided. We did have to change out our gloves but all good! I'd absolutely recommend this place. Also, the sightseeing between AC to here was filled with some beautifully landscaped homes I was happy we went here.

I had my chance for a birthday celebration that we had made dinner reservations for the week before. DINNER WAS PHENOMENAL!!! We each got a different dish, and each and every one was delicious and devoured (some wusses couldn't finish theirs, lol)! I'll just review mine, but please look at the menu. Everything is made fresh (including desserts) by the cook and baker, JOHNNY. Whaaaat?! (He stopped by our table and we chatted - super nice guy and my God the talent in those Italian hands)! My Chicken Piccata was really, really good - tender, and not too many capers; with just the right amount of "sauce." It came with two spears of asparaus, that were very good as well. When I tell you that I cleaned my plate, I cleaned my plate! Some ordered desserts and they were all exceptional! I'm usually "Team Chocolate," but was in the mood for cheesecake. DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN, was it other world yummy! (No BS Cheesecake Factory here!). Creamy, yet dense, and it was a really nice portion! Our server, Nick, was great and attentive - a genuine guy too, which is always appreciated. Our sweet men tipped him very well! He made sure that the "birthday boy" had a candle in his slice of blueberry pie. Another delicious dessert - wow! Between the food, LOOCH, the modern decor (beautiful white circular leather seated booths for the most part) and the atmosphere itself, you can't miss here! Johnny's is classy, delicious and fun. I highly, HIGHLY reccommond dining here. (Pro tip - take a cardigan because it can get cold).

Eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast for me; steak and eggs for my husband, which he said was very tasty. Food was very good, everything arrived hot on our plates. Our waitress was very attentive. Cost was reasonable considering we were down the shore. Ambiance was wonderful, even though we were there for breakfast. I can imagine lunch and dinner time, it would be as well. Menu was very detailed and expansive enough for anyone dining there. Pricing was acceptable, considering one is at a shore location. Definitely will hit up Johnny's for lunch or dinner next time we are in Margate.

The bar was definitely the scene though! It was packed. Ambiance was comfy but very noisy. Had the weather been pleasant, I'd have preferred the outdoor seating for this reason. The food was definitely worthwhile with highlights being the octopus and crab cake sandwich. Portions were hardy enough to share! The only miss was actually the dessert. Maybe we picked poorly but the key lime pie was really lacking like flavor and the crust was nearly nonexistent. Skip dessert and go to the dairy bar nearby. Will come back for more yummy seafood!
