I have been a loyal customer since Day 1. Even before that, I enjoyed Billy Ho's. Liangs took over Billy Ho's from the beginning. When BH first opened there were 1 hr waits for a table during the summer. Then Liangs took it over fully - even the BH phone number. Over time it evolved into a takeout and that big restaurant was more space than they needed. Years after they moved into the main business district and opened your standard takeout place. But the food never changed and my entire family LOVED it. Their egg rolls - plump and tasty and fried just right. Their egg standards were excellent. Chicken chow mein, egg foo young, shrimp and lobster sauce, beef and broccoli, pepper steak and more. I ordered so often they knew my address and would add a complimentary 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke. And they always remembered Diet. Nice people. For a month or so, I'd call and get a message that they were on vacation. I assumed perhaps they went to visit home and shut down for a month or so - a trip thousands of miles to the far east to visit family wouldn't normally be short. But now I don't get the message anymore and someone noted that they walked by the store and it was vacant? Can this be true? After 25 or more years it's all gone? If it is can someone recommend a similar place nearby? Just your regular non fancy takeout is what we love. Nothing fancy. read more

I seldom share bad reviews, as I highly value and regularly support small local businesses. However, in this situation I'm without recourse here other than to file a dispute with my financial institution, which I will not do. If the dispute is successfully processed (which it would be, as I have proof), the full amount of my bill would be taken from the restaurant. While a full refund is certainly justified at this point, I'm not looking to take money from them. But I am sharing this experience so no one else has to go through it. I've tried repeatedly to resolve with the business directly to no avail. Hopefully Liang's House will do better with customer service and product quality next time. This unfortunate experience took enough of my time, peace, and money as it is. I placed an order with Liang's that was not only incorrect, but it arrived at the wrong address. When I called to report both incident's, the woman who answered told me that she did make those mistakes, and that I would be reimbursed for the price of the incorrect dish. Then I was immediately put on the phone with another woman (who I believe was the owner?), who proceeded to cut me off repeatedly when I tried to explain the issues, and then informed me that I would get no money back, despite the admitted mistakes and the prior admission of same (and the promise of a reimbursement). She said "we won't do that, you got your order." and hung up on me. The Main Issue: The bill was $55 and some change. I had also tipped their driver 20% on the order. Today the charge came through for $75 and some change. So not only did they make 2 admitted mistakes, berate me, and not reimburse me at all for the mistakes or any inconvenience, but they charged my check card an *extra* $10. When I tried to talk to the owner today to inform her that I was charged an extra $10, I was yelled at and hung up on repeadtedly. Each time she said, "I do not have time for this I will look for your receipt and call you later!" It's been over 8 hours now. I called just now and told her I was trying to resolve with her directly instead of with my bank (so we could avoid the full amount being taken back from her business) and she responded, "I hope the money makes you rich." and hung up again. At this point I'm just taking it as a loss, but we will never order from Liang's House in Margate again. TLDR: was overcharged, not reimbursed, and very rudely treated The Secondary Offense: Aside from the poor service and rude treatment, their food is mediocre at best. I've ordered once before (Wonton Soup and shrimp fried rice - both mediocre and standard). On their menu they charge $15.95 for a Buddah's Delight (the incorrect item in my recent order, wherein I asked specifically for certain things about the dish to ensure it was what I wanted, but they still got it wrong) that clearly consists of bagged frozen Asian vegetables from any grocery store (with no sauce and no protein). The wonton soup was bland, the boneless ribs were mostly chewy fat, and the sweet and sour chicken was also bland and not crispy at all. The pork fried rice was standard. I've not experienced such rude and combative treatment from a business owner in the Ventnor/Margate area in the 4 years I've been living here, it's really a shame. Great food and quick take out service . Been my go to Chinese lately and happy I got to try . They remember their customers and what I order. Friendly Service with a smile. I am a Chinese food fanatic and for some reason this place was under my radar, I guess because I never cared for Billy Ho's the change never registered The place has very friendly staff and the food was delicious, my wonton soup's broth was very flavorful, the wontons were nice and firm with a tasty filling.... My lunch special was roast pork chow fun which I really enjoyed. The vegetables were nice and crisp and the chow fun noodles were served in a nice light sauce... Egg rolls served were not the usual type size served in almost every Chinese restaurant in the area, they are larger and had a better mixture of meat and vegetables... Cousin S said fhe liked the beef and broccoli that he has ordered in the past, he also raved about the fried noodles that are served here... I may be mistaken, but I believe are the same folks who used to own Liangs Imperial East in Margate, NJ. They moved from this restaurant and now run a take out place near the CVS in Margate. Is it any wonder they went out out the full service business. Twice in a row now I've ordered from them and the order showed up incorrect. Not only was a mistake made in the order, but it was the exact same mistake. Both times I ordered beef with mushrooms and bamboo shoots and what showed up was beef with red peppers and snow peas. As far as taste. The egg rolls are ok....nothing special. The shrimp toast was pretty good as were the spareribs. As far as the beef with mushrooms and bamboo shoots and the moo shu pork, both dishes were tasteless and bland. Real moo shu pork is made with scallions, shiitake mushrooms, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cabbage, and lotus root. This "moo shoo" pork was made with canned mushrooms, scallions, carrots, and cabbage in a watery sauce that was absolutely without any taste whatsoever. It's like for the beef and the moo shoo, they fried up the ingredients, threw a little soy sauce on it and thought it would pass. Nice try. I've had their pan fried pork dumplings as well. Too much dough, soggy, mushy, and not enough filling. Ever since Dim Sum and then Sum went out of business, I'm wondering if there is a decent Chinese restaurant in this area. Once bitten, twice shy. Live around the corner from the newish Liang's House. We ordered six different dishes, eg moo goo gai pan, sesame chicken, General Tso's chicken, General Tso's tofu, sesame noodles, vegetable dumplings, and two different beef dishes. My husband and I stopped in tonight for the first time. This is the absolutely the best food ever! We had wonton soup, egg rolls, lo mein and house fried rice. Everything that was placed on the table, from the noodles before we ordered to the entrees was amazing. The noodles, mustard and duck sauce were all home made and very tasty. The wonton soup was the best I have had in ages and the entrees were incredible. Jenny, the owner, is very friendly and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. My 14 year old daughter and her friends went to eat here last nite. They often go to dinner and breakfast together. They understand how to act and how to tip Last nite they were immediately met by a nasty woman woman working, who berated them asking if they had money, lecturing them on behavior before being seated and yelling them they all had to order a entree. During dinner the woman stood feet from them glaring at them making it clear they weren't wanted there. These kids all come from respected families that live here year round and families that have been calling Margate home during the summer for years. You lost these kids as customers and lost this family as well. We shouldn't judge, and maybe your restaurant wouldn't be so empty in the winter. read more

My family and I went there for dinner.When we entered they didn't have enough room for all 6 of us. So the lady asked my grandson to help move a table to make enough room. When we were seated they gave us plastic cups , plates and utensils. When we got our food some were undercooked.I don't think we will go back again and be aware it's not the same place as before. read more

Doesn't look like much when your walking by but once you come in and sit down you're welcomed by the kind staff and cultural decor. My party ordered the Sesame Chicken Platter, the Sweet and Sour Chicken Combo, and the Boneless Ribs Combo. My friend who ordered the Sesame Chicken Platter enjoyed her food. She notes she personally would not order again however recommends the dish to people who enjoy sesame chicken. My other friend who ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken enjoyed her dish and said it was as she expected. I ordered the Boneless Ribs combo. Personally I would say they were the best boneless ribs I've had from any Chinese restaurant. The pork fried rice which came with our food was very good. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to those who enjoy fried rice. The wonton soup was average. Overall, the service was good. Our waiter was kind and very patient with our indecisiveness. The food was as expected. The tables and booth was very clean. The location a bit outdated, was well maintained. I'm not giving 5 stars because of a few minor issues - nothing serious. Truth be told we have only been here twice but we are 2 for 2. Between 4 and 5 stars is probably accurate. Pepper Steak and Onion was tasty with a good amount of "sauce" same for the Chicken and Broccoli and the General Tso Chicken as well as General Tso Shrimp. Good Fried Rice too.Really liked the Wonton Soup and the Fried Noodles. One negative was the Egg Rolls although really tasty were a might greasy (it happens). This is my go to Chinese food restaurant whenever we are in the area. The wonton soup is flavorful. The spareribs are meaty and delicious. I usually get the chicken chow mein and it is always really good. My husband gets the shrimp with lobster sauce and he loves it! Had Crab Rangoon, Won Ton soup, and House Special Chow Mein. The white rice was good. I think the chef must have worked in a Chinese Hospital because the Chow Mein wqas tasteless and useasoned--completely bland. The Crab Rangoon were thick as cardboard with only a sight amount of filling. Theheavy fried taste did not help either. The Won Ton had the same super thick wrapper with tasteless filling. Come on Mr. Liang surely you can get a chef to coo better than this. I will wait till the next Dynasty before I eat at this place again. Tried this place twice in the last month or so. Food is just ok nothing special whatsoever. Tried 6 or 7 items, unfortunately nothing stood out. Things that did stand out? General chicken was typical cooked long before we arrived making it dry. Asked for xtra crispy never experienced one crunch. Shrimp egg roll might have had one baby shrimp in the entire thing. Shrimp dumplings were filled with something really very difficult to determine, threw most of them away. I make dumplings for the kids at home all the time they both turned their noses way up at these. If you want decent Chinese cuisine on this Island you simply have to go to AC. The only place to get Chinese in Margate(literally). The food is not bad but all the same color brown. Over salted is also an issue on many dishes. A shame the restaurant hasn't been updated in quite some time. The family is very community conscience so I guess that's why locals frequent it. The General Tso's chicken is very good as well as garlic eggplant . Skip the sesame noodles, the sugar is still grainy. The chow fun is my favorite. Take out is very quick. read more
