Out of all the vendors I used for a significant house renovation, Wolf was the most disappointing. They came recommended by my realtor, and, to do my homework, I visited their nice showroom way out in Palatine, where they proudly show off their (supposed) quality cabinets in order to, as their website claims, 'create a kitchen of your dreams'. Their prices are competitive, and I asked a lot of questions about the quality, but I was promised a great product and was told that supposedly Studio 41 sells these exact cabinets as well (unsure if that's accurate). The initial planning process was easy. Andy came out to measure and Julie creates the design in their 3D computer program for the cabinets (naturally you'll have to work with someone else for backsplash, hardware, appliances, etc). The overall cabinet options are limited but fine. Although my contractor could have installed the cabinets for half the cost, I chose to go with Wolf since this is their specialty. It is my understanding that they have had the same installers for many years, so I had every reason to believe that they were the experts. Some of the details of the installation were sloppy--but what was the most gut-wrenching issue is that while the installer was installing the door handles, his drill bit was old and he drilled too roughly, causing the majority of my BRAND NEW DOORS that I just spent thousands of dollars on to splinter around the drill holes. Sure, the splinters are on the inside, but the damage was on 32(!) of the doors. One is a mistake, two is a bad day, thirty+ is irresponsible and unacceptable. I asked for them to replace the doors. Julie promised that they would fix the mistake and that, according to an email from her, that they are always good with their word--but they just dabbed paint on the splinters which doesn't solve the problem since there were divets in the wood. The installer was clearly offended that I noted his mistakes and thought my expectation to have cabinets installed correctly was unreasonable, which resulted in him making rude and inappropriate comments to me--so much so that I did not feel comfortable with him in my house, so I requested that he be removed from this project. After communicating again with Julie that I did not find the solution acceptable, I took the site plan and specifically marked which doors needed to be replaced and was told they'd order new doors. That was in July 2018. I followed up every few weeks to see the status. I knew it would take longer than the month total it took me from the initial measurements to installation, but finally after jerking me around for five months the doors came in. Hallelujah! Except they only sent 17 instead of 32 and there was no rhyme or reason to which doors they sent. AND almost every one of the 'new' doors had some sort of flaw to it. Wolf Cabinetry claimed they were brand new doors, but, for example, one of the door's edges are all worn. Another came with odd drill holes already in it. After challenging them on this issue, they claimed the cabinet doors were brand new and divulged in an email "the factory did notify that since these cabinetry are mass production, standard, affordable price, they are not high end and will have imperfections on doors." In January when I asked about timing of replacement, I was told, 'now we are waiting for new batch of cabinetry but it will only arrive this spring from China'. Huh? Another 4-5 months? What a headache, what horrible quality, what bad business practice and what poor customer service. Definitely not a partner to create 'the kitchen of your dreams'. read more

Im sad that my experience with Wolf didn't go better. Positives: Setting up the kitchen was easy and actually lovely with them. And the installer was a great guy. Critiques: I had to call several times (even after talking to someone and leaving all of my info) just to get someone to talk to about issues. They brought and starting installing the wrong counter top which delayed me having a sink by 5 days (i was issued a "sorry"). They brought and installed the wrong glass for two of my cabinets. They installed two different types of shoe for the base. There are several places that the cabinets are not even. I had to bring all of this up or it would have not been taken care of. Not once did a manager come to the house to check on the installation. The price ended up being quite expensive for cheapish cabinets. The installer was great, super nice and friendly and fixed the the most of issues I bought up. Even after the job was finished no one came to check on the job or his work. I was told i could call if there were any problems. It was a disappointing experience. read more

We have used Wolf twice now - once for a rental property that was a "test run" and they did a great job. I used them again on my home that I was preparing to sell and was even more impressed. Great quality at an excellent price. My realtor tried to talk me out of re-doing the kitchen because she presumed it was going to take several months and that I would never get my money back in the sale. Boy was she wrong! From the day I first walked into the showroom (don't be fooled - they don't put their money into that space and it does not fairly represent their excellent work) to the day they finished my kitchen was just over three weeks. Total time onsite from cabinet install to finishing the granite was 7 days. Not only did they do a good job with a very tight timeframe on my end but frankly, I was a pain to deal with. I changed specifications on a couple of items as we went, my ceilings were an odd height that required creativity on Julie, the designer's part, the home was very old and the room not square in any dimension and they not only met, but exceeded my unreasonable expectations. A couple of "tips". Mind you, these are not deficiencies on Wolf's part, just suggestions for people that have not done this before. Wolf does not do plumbing or electrical work and they are very clear about it. Make sure you take care of this critical step before they arrive. Ask for a floor plan so you can be sure your mechanicals line up with the cabinets. They will work with you on it if you have a concern but that it is not their job to figure out what you may have missed. Do your own demo if you can so you can make sure your walls are ready (lathe and plaster has a way of falling apart in these situations) and be sure your floor is done wall to wall before they arrive. In some ways I am glad I had the appliances first so we could be positive everything fit but if I was doing it again, I might wait as they were in the way. It is also worth noting that I called Julie many times for general advice on what was "trending" in kitchen design and for help with certain other specifics and she was really helpful, always friendly, polite and and accommodating. I really put her through her paces and am generally frustrated with trades people. So if Julie, Andy and the installers at Wolf can satisfy me, they can probably satisfy anyone! read more

We searched many companies to consult and install our kitchen in and around the Northwest suburb locations. I found Julie exceptional, friendly and all round such a true professional and the entire team from Day 1 amazing at consultation, advice, planning and well anything else that I called to ask!Which was a lot! I was even on vacation and they continued to keep my mind at peace! The customer service was second to none and kept me at ease throughout the entire process. I was designing my own kitchen rather than using a contractor so it was important that the lay out and measurements were spot on for all my appliances and sink. I had heard a lot of good things about Wolf but my personal experience has been very bad. I went to wolf last week with my wife. The lady over there was nice and told us that since it was close to closing (1/2 hour) and she had another customer to look after could we come the next day. We agreed and determined that a time of 2 to 3 pm would be good. The next day we went at 3 PM and saw 3 ladies assisting other customers. The lady we talked to the previous day was not to be seen. None of the staff greeted us or asked us if we needed anything. When eye contact was made they just turned away. We waited for some time trying to get somebodys attention but to no avail. It was a humiliating experience and the behaviour looked racist. We just walked away from the place (not a word spoken). Needless to say nobody stopped us when we were walking out. After checking with multiple retailers including Lowes, Wolf provided us with a very reasonable price for the cabinets. They also have guys who can fix this cabinets for a very reasonable price. The installation guy was awesome, he did a great job installing our cabinets. They also had good collection of granite but we liked one particular granite in a different store, which we went with. We bought our cabinets and granite at Wolf a few months ago and love everything about them. My husband is very handy so we installed the cabinets ourselves, although their installation price was really not bad. The granite was delivered and installed by their granite company. The quality of cabinets and granite are excellent for the price we paid. There was a delay of about a month in getting the cabinets. We were told that our cabinet style was not the most popular choice, so more orders for that style had to be placed so they could all be shipped by boat from China together. I did not know that black and white were the trendy cabinet colors, and we chose Tan Honey Shaker. In our case, the wait was not a problem, but if time is of the essence for you, ask them about the current boat situation to make sure you will get them on time. We are very happy with the price and our overall experience and that it has increased the value of our home. read more

Do not buy kitchen cabinets from this specific dealer. I ordered cabinets for a very small kitchen. I absolutely had to go with a 33" corner base cabinet, not a 36" due to placement of appliances. The first person I dealt with, Hanne, gave me a quote & kitchen design. When I went back a few days later to place the order it was Julie who took the final order. I let her talk me into a different cabinet style & I stressed many times that the corner base HAD to be 33". I went over the final design before placing the order to confirm this. When the order came in the corner cabinet was 36"! I was told by Julie that this model of cabinets does not come in a 33" corner base. She tried to talk me into taking them and change the configuration of both upper & lower cabinets to try and make it work. This meant I would actually loose some cabinet space on the upper wall cabinets which I did not want to do since it was such a small kitchen and I was trying to make the best use of the space, not waste it with fillers or useless open shelfs. I was dumbfounded at this mistake since I had emphasized the requirements for the sizes chosen many times. I had them send those cabinets back and order the cabinets I picked out in the first place. Then those cabinets came in and there were more mistakes. I had ordered a 24" drawer base and, instead, a 24" regular base came in. The 9" wide upper cabinets were only 30" high instead of 36". I was told by Julie that this model of cabinets did not make a 24" drawer base or 36" high wall cabinets. It's the same story she gave me with the corner base cabinet. Really? Hanne, who originally did the design and quote with this model didn't tell me that. Julie, in an effort to get me to keep this order offered to put in a pull out drawer on the 24" base. I was so disgusted with the situation that I just wanted to be done with these people so I agreed. When my carpenter picked up the cabinets, they were wrapped in plastic do he didn't get to look at them. She only put in 1 pull out at the bottom of the 24" base cabinet. I was expecting two (my mistake for not asking before agreeing) since I was loosing 2 real drawers. Since I am fully aware that ordinary base cabinets are less expensive than drawer bases I asked how much the difference was. That's another issue: you DON'T get an itemized list of each cabinet and the price therefore you don't know the cost of each cabinet. Julie reluctantly offered me a $40 refund. Since I have no idea of what these cabinets cost I accepted it, did not make an issue over the 30" high wall cabinets and just wanted to get away from this dealer. After unwrapping the cabinets, one of them had a foul musty odor. All of them, including drawers were crooked and didn't line up evenly. My carpenter had to take hinges off and put them back on straight. Many of them were not level which is why the doors and drawers would not line up. I know the doors have adjusting hinges but no matter how he adjusted them it didn't work that's when he noticed that the hinges were put in crooked. Bottom Line: I don't think the employees at Wolf Cabinetry & Granite know what they're doing. I don't think the employees at this place know their merchandise well enough. I don't know who put the cabinets together but they did an inferior job. My guess is the musty odor cabinet was sitting in a warehouse for a long time. I don't like the fact that you don't get an itemized invoice with prices. Next time I will go to Home Depot which I did originally and this Wolf place came in with a price a little lower. I got caught up in the cost saving idea however it wasn't worth it. I've learned my lesson the hard way. Stay away from this place or be prepared to deal with mistakes. read more

Cabinet install was delayed 5 weeks. They hung cabinets that were not even with my kitchen window. They drilled holes in one of my base cabinets for hinges on the wrong side then drilled them on the correct side, and left the eight holes in the cabinet. Cabinets arrived damaged twice. Hung trim that was damaged. Installed my lazy Susan with the mechanism upside down and wire Bastet damaged. They call to come over with 15 minutes notice. When you call to speak to someone they tell you they will talk to the owner and don't call you back, you have to call them. They only send one man to do the entire install himself, and he does not speak a word of English, so learn Chinese if you want to communicate with him. The overall appearance of the cabinets is good, just don't look closely..........I do like the granite but it was not supplied by Wolf, it was included in the package but we picked it out at a granite dealer. The installers Wolf used to put the granite in we're fine. ( they did come back after 3 weeks to remove glue they got on my new cabinets ) They also send one installer to do all the cabinet work, do not paint until he is finished, and my new dishwasher was also damaged by the installers knee. To sum thing up, ended up with damaged cabinets, received a small credit. Would not recommend this company, was nothing but aggravation!!! read more

Had very bad experience overall. The quality of the cabinets is very poor, compared to what they have in the showroom. The staff was very friendly in the beginning but once they got their payment, they turned their back on an "unsatisfied" customer. They didn't want to speak to me or help me out with my concerns. The cabinets were wrapped in a cling wrap, with no protection to them whatsoever. One of the cabinets was already damaged by the time it got to my house. On top of that, they delivered the wrong cabinet, there was a huge crack inside the pantry, and a nail was sticking out from the outside in one of them. When I tried to get in contact with Andy, he seemed to be busy, taking "care of other customers". I was ignored for two days, it wasn't until I actually drove there myself I got to speak with him. Even then, he didn't want to speak to me. I felt very disappointed because I heard some many good things about them, I couldn't believe they would treat a customer the way they treated me. I honestly feel that the reason why they did this, was because I hired an outside company to install the cabinets for me, which saved me a lot of money. Although the price of the cabinets was a bit cheaper then my other estimates, the stress and what I had to go thru, wasn't worth it. Next time, I rather pay more and get a better quality and service.
