Two bars, roughly 20-25 minutes, and I still hadn't managed to order food. I ended up a couple of doors down at Burger 101, a little hole-in-the-wall burger joint. The guy there was super friendly, the burger and fries were delicious, and it cost about half as much. I took my food to go and sat by the beach. Pretty great view there, too. I understand that restaurants get busy. I don't expect someone to drop everything the second I sit down, but a menu followed by a long stretch of being ignored isn't much of a welcome. The Horn's view was what drew me in. The service was what sent me elsewhere. I decided to give my money to a place that seemed happy to have my business. I have gotten the breakfast burrito when having breakfast and would characterize it as large, yet underwhelming in taste. None of the beers that i have tried are particularly memorable, but they are very drinkable. The service is courteous and they strive to keep the tables clean. The ordering here is done at the counter and I have found this to be a great way of taking orders in a casual establishment. This allows one to peruse the menu at a table at one's own speed, then walk up to the counter to ask any questions about the menu and then place the order. My experiences have been that the employee at the register has always been patient, informative and respectful. They bring your order to your table when it is ready. My experience is that they give you a conservative estimate of the time for preparing and the real time has been shorter. Note that I think they do a good job with turnaround times given how many customers are in the restaurant combined with their apparent significant take-out business. My dinner experiences have been very satisfying and that is what one would expect from a meat purveyor. However, they do not fumble the ball on the execution. Casual food, but tasty. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating: plenty of both. Part of the outside seating is heated and covered during much of the year. I have never been there when you could not choose a table. I think a great casual stop, and a unique one, when visiting the Tillamook area.

A few patrons came in and out for beers to-go, a few stayed to enjoy beers on-site like us. I quite liked the quiet evening so we could fully soak in the goodness of de Garde beer, the warm atmosphere, and have time to chat with the friendly bartender on shift. We had a few beers on the patio to enjoy the cool coastal air, then moved inside for our next round. We enjoyed sitting in both areas. While all of their beer is phenomenal to us, the stand outs for me were The Purple: Gin Barrel Cuvee and The Renrocha. Although we were flying in from out of State, we took 3 bottles home with us so we could continue savoring the well-crafted beers of de Garde! Can't wait to come back!
