Hidden Gem Winery! Hidden: Tucked away in the Vineyard surrounded by open fields and subdivisions is the wonderful winery and event center. I would have never thought there would be a winery out here but it when you are here it is very easy to forget where you are. Rolling fields and not civilization in site that you could believe you are in the foothills or Napa. It has a large sprawling estate. Service: We were the first to arrive quite a bit early for our reservation but our house was personable and super friendly. She was knowledgeable about the wines and very open to us trying out various different wines Wine/Food: I did not get a chance to try any of the food but they did have some charcuterie boards available in a fridge. The wine was varied and separated by reds, whites and sparkling. I was genuinely surprised by the almond wine as normally sparking is not my favorite. On the night of my son's wedding, as a venue, they didn't deliver what was expected of them, very disappointed. As a result of the electricity going out multiple times, it affected additional services that we paid extra for such as our LED panels and our videographer's audio equipment was connected to the DJs equipment. We lost that audio and visual. Imagine everyone seating in the darkness, and quietly waiting for anything to start. The Indian catering buffet style, which was also through them, they were throwing away trays of our food that we purchased early in the night. When our family asked why they were throwing away our food, the Wolfe heights staff said they were instructed by Kiya ( venue coordinator) to throw away the food. There were other upfront services requested with the owner Ken for an extra fund to his pocket, and no service provided. Such unfortunate because it's such a beautiful venue that's run by the wrong people. I don't ever want to recommend this place to anyone who wants a memorable experience for their wedding. Overall, we managed to smile through the whole ordeal at this wedding, as we had so much issues on this special day that we will never get back. read more

Wolfe Heights Winery is a beautiful event we center and winery in the southeast part of Sacramento. They serve their own wine, and we also enjoyed wings and fries from the food booth out in the courtyard. The Courtyard and grounds are absolutely beautiful, perfect for private parties and weddings too. It was so relaxing . Back in June of 2022, we attended a wedding here for a family member. We had only attended this venue for the wedding so I can't speak to the winery as a whole. As far as location and landscape.... it is quite beautiful! Not to mention, it was only like 10 minutes from our house so we loved that! It was HOT AS SUMMER HECK during this outdoor wedding! Everyone was completely melting from head to toe, but the way everything was decorated, curated and displayed was one for the books. I was invited to the winery to celebrate my friend's birthday. I am so happy to have found this place because I have driven past it countless times and never known it was there. I'm excited to have a winery so close to home and will be coming back! When we arrived we were greeted and seated immediately despite some of our party running late. We elected to do a mixed tasting flight where we would be given 2 white wines and 2 reds. I'm not a huge fan of red wine, but the 2 I was given were not too bad. The star of my tasting experience was their peach mango sparkling wine (I bought 2 bottles to go). I enjoyed being able to sit and sip the wine while chatting with friends. There are beautiful trees on the property and the view is nice. Overall I think this winery is beautiful and approachable, even for people who do not know much about wine. read more

Amazing hidden Gem in Sacramento! Great wine, awesome people, and wonderful events! I enjoy hanging out when I'm in town.

My fiancee and I went to the mother's Day brunch they had, and along with that we purchased separate tickets for a tasting. When we first got there, there was no clear signs indicating the mother's Day brunch was being held. There were signs saying " wedding " and " wedding venue " with arrows leading to where we later found out after walking around the estate for 5-10 minutes that the main area where the wedding signs were pointing is where the event was being held. Given there was nothing else going on I went to the front and asked and I was told it was the mother's day event. The hostest checked me in and gave me a food and drink ticket each for my fiance and I and only direction was sit wherever you like. I knew the event was a brunch so we got in line for the food which took probably 15-20 minutes to get refilled because we got there about 1 and the event started at 11am. The food was mediocre for 70$ per person which was disappointing, but the more disappointing thing was the lack of service and organization. While waiting in line I want to the bar to get a drink I grabbed a menu with drinks and prices labeled no clear indication what my "drink ticket " would get me. I went to the bartender and I ordered a drink, he gave me no help or suggestions at all. After finally getting our food we looked for a table we found one that looked to be open but was hard to tell because there was plates and garbage on it. We sat down and no one came as in guests or bussers. The entire time we sat there I didn't see one table bussed. The food ran out again and once again it took a while for it to be replenished. When my fiance went to the bar to specifically ask what the drink tickets cover the bartender gave a very attitude filled response. Then we decided to go to our tasting. The tasting room was clearly labeled, but when we went there was no one to be seen it looks to have been empty all day but I was not communicated with at all of the tasting was moved to the mother's day event. When my fiance called later to tell them about our disappointment they essentially said, "that doesn't sound right I don't think this happened". Overall very disappointing DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Stunning venue, but major power failures and wasteful service ruined the experience I recently attended my nephew's wedding at Wolfe Heights. While I want to start by saying the venue itself is visually beautiful and offers a gorgeous backdrop for photos, the actual execution of the event was a disaster due to facility and staff issues. Throughout the reception, the electricity went out multiple times. It wasn't just a flicker; the power completely died. The DJ's music cut off abruptly, and the LED panels went dark, creating a very awkward atmosphere. The most heartbreaking moment was when the power died right as the bride and groom were doing their grand entrance. It was incredibly embarrassing and sad to watch their big moment ruined by technical failures. Additionally, the catering service (Indian food provided by the venue) was mishandled. Toward the end, instead of asking the family if they wanted to save the food or packing it up, I watched staff throwing away trays of food while the event was still going on. It felt very wasteful and unprofessional. I've heard that new owners recently took over, but based on this experience, they have a lot of work to do. I cannot recommend this place for a wedding until they fix their electrical grid and train their staff better. read more

Absolute hidden gem of a winery in the greater Sac area. The grounds are beautiful with vineyards, a variety of trees, a pond, and a wedding venue. We love the atmosphere during the cooler months when the wine tasting is done in their "pub" area with the sprawling ivy adorning the top of the ceiling in the outdoor area - it's gorgeous. As for the wines, they're on point. My favorite is the orange-style Vermentino, but really I can't say I've had a disappointing wine there at all. The red blends are bold and vivacious with interesting mixes. The events are always a good time. We've been for the grape stomp the last couple years and had a great time. read more

We came to Wolfe Heights for a friends birthday and it was a great experience! We came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too packed. We did have a reservation prior to coming. We did the wine flight and it was great! They didn't rush us which I appreciated- we definitely took over an hour, but it wasn't busy which is why I think we were able to stay for longer. They also gave us decent size pours. Their charcuterie was also beautiful and delicious. It's a great place to visit! read more

They were constantly checking on us to make sure we were well taken care of. And their wines were delicious. They changed new owners this year and it has been pretty awful. I don't recommend you doing your wedding or any event here until they get their stuff together. We were never informed of the new changes and they never reached out to us about going over wedding details or finalizing the floor plans until the week before our wedding. The worst part was they were unresponsive to our emails, calls, and texts when we continued to reach out several months prior. They only responded when it was literally a week before the wedding. The unnecessary stress from this was unbelievable. This place isn't suited to run such events anymore until they learn to structure and organize their business properly. Beautiful place but poor service overall and that was such a disappointment during our wedding. Glad we were able to push through with our amazing wedding coordinator's help. read more

One of my new favorite spots!! Not only was the huge property gorgeous, serving great wine, and charcuterie, but I met the owner and he is one of the most humble and welcoming hosts. You can feel that this property came from someone who loves what they do. The landscape is perfect for events and pictures, very elegant and well manicured/curated. The staff is great. This review will only be reflecting their wine tasting experience. I've also done their Sparkling Sunday monthly brunch but that'll be in a different review. Onto the review, this winery is so cute! Upon arrival there's a long drive way towards the winery which I think is such a nice touch because as you're driving, you're seeing more and more of the estate. You literally would not think this winery is in Sacramento! My cousin and I both did the mixed wine tasting, totaling at $43.10 (taxes included). The tastings came with 4 pours which is about average considering the price. We loved that they served local wine such as Clarksburg and others. We also ordered their charcuterie board, I can't remember the price but I do remember saying that it was very worth it for the price. Most wineries give you a couple cheese and crackers but their charcuterie board was loaded! I wish we had gotten the worker's name because she was amazing! She was very informative of all the wines and she was just so nice and sweet. She really attentive as well with refilling our water and our wines. We went to Wolfe Heights for their Wine down Wednesday event and had such a great time. It was a warm day, but the estate had plenty of shaded seating and big fans, so it stayed really comfortable. The wines were refreshing and each one had its own unique flavor. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the whole experience fun and relaxed. What really stood out, though, was how kind and accommodating the staff was. My mom, who's disabled and doesn't drink alcohol, asked if there were any non-alcoholic options. They went out of their way to make her a fresh lemonade on the spot. That level of care really meant a lot to us and made the day even more special. There was also live music, great atmosphere, and a beautiful setting overall. Wolfe Heights knows how to host a great event, and we'll definitely be coming back! read more

As the father of the bride and primary source of funding for my daughter's recent wedding at Wolfe Heights Estates and Winery, it was important to me that we provide a nice experience for our guests. The facilities appeared to be well maintained and the bar staff provided excellent service. That's where the positives end. To our surprise, the venue changed ownership after we reserved it, but prior to our event. Communication prior to the event was poor at best, despite our proactive attempts. The venue's event manager created an extremely poor experience. She was witnessed by guests being rude and unprofessional to staff, and more importantly she was rude and unprofessional to some of our guests. Multiple requests were made prior to the event to provide a private space for my other daughter, a nursing mother, to pump and we were told that this would not a problem and they would provide her access to the house on the property..... Little did we know that it would be a storage closet in the garage/work space that she would have to share with at least one rodent that she observed. Had we not employed a very professional, organized wedding coordinator, my daughter's biggest day could have been a disaster. Don't be misled by the previous positive reviews. Things have clearly changed under new ownership. I would advise skipping this venue and finding another. There are better options in the region. read more

The server didn't tell us what she was pouring or anything about the wine. The tasting menu also provided no description. Two of the wines I tasted were okay. The other two weren't so great. Got the chance to visit this winery which I never knew about until a friend mentioned it. They are a stone's throw away from her house and we all were equally shocked about this little hidden gem. I never knew this winery existed until she told us about this place. Upon arrival, we passed by an ostrich farm and taken down a small road which we thought Google was going to lead us astray. As we arrived, it felt like were taken away to a lovely countryside oasis out to Lodi or Napa. My friend made a reservation for 3 but only 2 of us were tasting (one of our friends was expecting so no tasting for her). Both my friend and I chose the mixed red and white wine (classic) flights. I'm more of a white wine person than red and having a varied mix is great. The other wine flight option (gold) appears to only be red. We started off with an almond champagne from Lodi. I love almond champagne! Enjoyed most of the wines offered in the wine flight but what really surprised me was the Malbec. It is a red wine and was my absolute favorite of the entire flight which had cherry notes. My least favorite was the Vermentino which was supposed to have a fruity floral note but was bitter and had an off taste to it. However, that's just me and my tongue. I wish they had an option of a bucket for when visitors don't like a certain wine in the flight, that we can just empty out to or a chance to wash our glasses with water in between tastings. The winery was pretty busy and is a great place to escape to without traveling too far away from home. They do have options for wine purchase and the ostriches made an appearance (albeit on a lunch pail)! The winery is also a beautiful lot for options of a wedding as well. So the ladies and I did a girls day here for Sunday mimosa brunch. As excited as we were I was a bit disappointed. Let's start with the service. Service was okay a bit slow and when I say slow the server didn't come back after 1pm until close to 2pm. We were wanting another bottle of champagne but he was no where to be found. Food- for $65 each the plates were very very small. I don't know anyone who left the event that didn't go have lunch after brunch. I guess I was expecting something different. With unlimited mimosas, there isn't enough food to suck up the champagne. I bought a case of wine as I loved the peach mango but I don't think I'll be coming back for another brunch. The music was not eclectic but the ambiance was nice. Definitely didn't join the membership. This time was different than the 1st. Edit on 5/10/23- I spoke with Kiya after she reached out to me after seeing my review. We had a great conversation and the authenticity of the call was amazing. She understood our concerns and addressed the service and food with the vendors. I appreciate good service. She offered for us to come back to try it again but to contact her first. My wife and I selected Wolfe Heights because the grounds were absolutely stunning and the quality of wine was a mark above other winery venues we had considered. Both of those things held true on our wedding day, and without question the work the team puts into maintaining the landscaping and estate house in addition to the bar staff who earned high praise from our guests make it hard to leave a negative review. Unfortunately there were a number of challenges we experienced that we wish to share, with the hope that it will encourage the ownership group to make some necessary changes. The first and most egregious offense is tied to the treatment of a member of our wedding party who is has an infant and still pumping. Leading to the event we shared with the venue team MULTIPLE times that we needed proper accommodations for her. They assured us they had a place in mind and that she just needed to find a member of the venue event staff when the time came. Mid wedding that time came and the "accommodation" they had was a service garage that had no privacy, and was not the type of sanitary environment that any mother would feel comfortable in (photo attached). It is extremely frustrating that my wife and I put a lot of forethought in communicating specific needs to properly accommodate our guest, only to receive an outcome like this. Which leads to the second point that was a constant point of frustration: communication with the Wolfe Heights event team was extremely difficult. Being mindful of changes they were undergoing during our wedding planning: change in ownership, changes to their wine/beer offering and liquor license, changes to their pricing structure. The team was slow to respond, at times provided no answer to questions asked, at other times would copy/paste excerpts from the wedding contract as an answer to a question we were asking specific to that part of the contract. While some communication was recovered when our wedding planner stepped in, our last onsite meeting with the Wolfe Heights event team two weeks before our wedding foreshadowed some things that did not go to plan on our wedding day. The Wolfe Heights event lead had an outdated copy of our wedding timeline and planning docs which our planner had sent multiple times (our planner fortunately had an extra copy to share). Details like the location of our welcome table and guest book, were later changed morning of by WH team without a good explanation as to why. We were told signature cocktails could be served, but they did not share that they would be premixed in large dispensers. This led to one drink (old fashioned) being super strong. While some may see these missteps as small or trivial, they underscore the constant battle that it took to properly prepare because the lack of communication from the WH event team. The last point is specific to the Event Manager, we heard from multiple guests following our wedding that you were rude. They observed harsh treatment towards vendors, a few were told by you to "get out of the way" in an aggressive tone. The way you comport yourself does not seem in line with the type of experience that Wolfe Heights aims to deliver. All in all, for how much it costs to get married here, the experience leaves a lot to be desired. Post event my wife and I agreed that if we knew what we know now, we would not have chosen Wolfe Heights as our venue. read more

Feels like Napa meets LA! The whole place came to life at night with the hundreds of lights wrapped around the trees and the lit up water fountains and dancing floor! We couldn't have been happier. If you need a wedding planner Perfect Plan weddings were wonderful as well as Amour Florist and ToniNgoCustomcakes and Jackson catering. We are soooo happy we chose this venue for the wedding. Wolfe Heights is truly a neighborhood gem! I have been to this local winery several times for wine tasting and the Mimosa Sundays. I live really, really close to the winery and have popped by to pick up some of my favorite wines at the last minute. The estate grounds of this winery is simply magical with a beautiful courtyard, fountain and pond. The winery can accommodate weddings and other events. During the spring and summer, Wolfe Heights hosts several Events each month. If you are looking for a local winery that is quaint and intimate, Wolfe Heights is the one.
