My husband and I were invited to Wolfsie's for a family member's 50th birthday. The area is nice and right on the water. We had a nice size section and was seated promptly. The decor is ok, nothing special, typical bar but with a nice view. There was a love band there but we were not in a close enough area to see them. The staff was very nice, efficient and quick. My husband and I ordered Long Islands and we were pleasantly surprised that they were strong! I ordered the classic Sirloin steak, well done with grilled onions and mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the tenderloin sandwich and fries. I have the restaurant 4 stars because the steak was a tad dry and I didn't get very onions on my steak. My husband raved about his v tenderloin and it was a nice size that he didn't even finish it all... I would definitely recommend Wolfsie's and plan on going back! read more

My husband and I found ourselves without kids on Friday night, so decided to try out this local spot. Lots (OK, most) of our friends frequent Wolfies all the time because it's nearby. Wolfies is right in the Geist marina and as soon as you step inside it feels like you stepped into a ski lodge. It's a very comfortable space. I'd call it upscale, but still comfortable. It was a freezing cold night and very blustery. And I noticed all the windows were steamed up when we approached, so I was hoping that meant it was warm inside. It was not. It was freezing inside even though every table was filled with people eating, drinking, talking, and laughing. We occupied a two-top on the other side of the building from the front door and still ate our entire meal with our coats on. I'd absolutely recommend the fish tacos to anyone, and my husband would do the same with the black and blue sirloin. They were expertly prepared seasoned. However, it was almost too cold to enjoy my draft beer. My husband did the smart thing and ordered a coffee just to warm up! It was really loud inside, but like I said, it was Friday night and at full capacity. There were lots of TVs around, so it would be a great spot to catch a game with friends. My friend and I went for dinner and drinks. We got to sit in the screened in patio with a view of Geist (which is beautiful). Our server was very nice and offered suggestions. Our meal was delicious! The spicy margarita was amazing!! I had hoped for a bit more of a traditional mix but it was still delicious. The tacos were great!! Get the tacos everyone! The only bummer, their drink special on mixed cocktails did not apply to what I ordered which i wish would of been made more clear. Overall a great experience read more

I love this restaurant The view cant be beat. The menu has a great variety and the food is always top notch. Michael is our favorite server. My one complaint is they don't have mint to make mojitos. Tonight was my 1st time at Wolfies & we were there for the Bishop's band. It was too crowded to sit in where the band was so we ate 1st & was gonna go down there after we ate. The food was good although my chicken on the nachos & tenders a bit dry, the fries, boom boom Cauliflower, & pretzel was delish! However, my cousins friend is allergic to red onions sho when she ordered she asked & the waiter to her there was no onions in the dish she wanted to order. After she took several bites, I'd say three, she tasted onion so she asked & our waiter went to ask. He came back & confirmed there indeed was red onions in the dish. He was visibly upset & was apologetic. My cousin asked if she were to have to go to the hospital would they help or cover that bill. The waiter asked his Manger & came back with their sorry that happened & they'd comp her dinner. COMP her dinner? That's it?? I do not blame the waiter for sure However he should know or ask before he brings it to the table or order at all! And the manager should have come to our table bot sent the waiter back & JUST comp her dinner! This is the most disrespectful customer service I've ever witnessed. That poor waiter shouldn't have had to deal with this in his own he's NOT in charge & is suppose to be making sure every...EVERY patron is taken care of & fix mistakes respectfully. Experience was just okay overall. I'd be very hesitant to try again or even recommend to others. With being close to Geist/marina it's very convenient without having to bring your boat in for the day. Food was just okay, service wasn't what you'd expect. I'd go back but it was just disappointing Food 2.5/5 - the food overall wasn't bad. Wasn't hot and fresh, you could tell it had been sitting for a little bit. Ordered a side of creamed corn and there was a film on top of it from it being cooled for so long. Everything tasted good otherwise, just knocking off points for the temp issues Service 1.5/5 - the waitress was very slow on service. We came in on a very late lunch and she only had one other table in our area. The staffing wasn't an issue as there were enough waiters and management present that staff could actually stand around and even joke around in the kitchen/prep area. We ordered an appetizer and it came literally as we finished our entrees but she blamed it on no food runner and she forgot. Just didn't make sense since there were maybe 5 other tables besides us in the establishment. I'm all for recognizing great service amidst this labor shortage but you really can't blame it on the fact this is your first week back after being gone the last several months Environment 3/5 - cool decorations and great views! We enjoy eating at Wolfies Grill. Parking lot is busy, but we always seem to find a spot. Food is good, plenty of options for the family and the services is great. Our Waitress Friday night was engaged and always available. Food came out quick. The wait can be fairly long to sit outside overlooking the reservoir but it's a beautiful location. We were sat inside within 10 minutes. Although we got right in, I felt like the hostess could have done a better job welcoming the guest. They appeared to be bothered at that moment. With a little work on the guest experience upon arrival and I think we would go back more often. read more

I had the tenderloin and my wife had a salad. She loved the salad and I thought the tenderloin was very good. The service was awesome. Wish I remembered the dude's name. He was exceptional. Tall guy with facial hair. You will know him if he waits on you. He is good. The tenderloin will give all the places in town a run for the money. Well fried, juicy, thick enough and fit on the bun pretty much. What else can you ask for, this is Indiana. We have had several salads there and all the ones we tried were very good. This place might make it on the lake Went back for lunch on August 14th . Order the fish tacos with fried not blackened fish but was told they can only do for a $6.00 upcharge. I was pretty hot and Jeff , my server, got the general manager who explained about not frying Tilapia so they had to do a large portion of cod and throw most away. I ask the GM to deep fry the Tilapia. He said in all his years in restaurant work he never did that but why not. They fried the Tilapia and the fish tacos were awesome. So excited to visit Wolfies newest location, in the Geist marina. If you have ever visited Wolfies, you will already be familiar with the menu. Any new restaurant in this area will usually be busy and although we came on a Tuesday night, Wolfies was busy. We were told our wait was 40 minutes but ended up being less than 5. We were immediately welcomed by our sweet waitress Chloe and she took our drink orders. We looked at the menus and food arrived within 15 minutes. I enjoyed the Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad. As always, delicious. The chicken is crispy, sweet mandarin oranges blend perfectly with the blue cheese. My husband had a chicken wrap that was southwest inspired. It was paired with chips and salsa. A light and fresh option, perfect for a hot day. Our son selected the Pan Seared Chicken. Served with mashed potatoes and broccoli, it's a hardy and delicious meal. The chicken is juicy and cooked to perfection. It's a signature dish and it's easy to see why. We are very pleased with our visit and happily surprised that we experienced such friendly, fast and accurate service at a newly opened restaurant that was very busy! We went after boating with some friends. We called in advance because they had a 40 minute wait list. I was surprised at how busy Wolfies was in this pandemic. But they did separate tables and seemed to be clean. We sat outside on the deck. Sitting outside always feels a lot better with this pandemic. And they have a lot of seating outside. My husband,daughter (21) and I went Friday evening around 5:30 to have a beer on the bar deck and enjoy the evening looking out at the water. The waitress told us to check in with the hostess and she would seat us, there were plenty of tables all distanced from each other. We went to the hostess stand and were told they weren't seating in the bar deck. When I asked her why, the manger zoomed over and said "Because we aren't!" I was shocked, we were being very polite as was the hostess. I said to my husband "Someone is having a tough day" and the manager got right back in our faces and said we needed to sit down and wait. This place is great for happy hour, if for no other reason than the atmosphere on the deck or in the atrium. It's genuinely fun without being sloppy. You can get a good cocktail, beer, or wine and enjoy the views of the marina. It is not a great place for lunch. The food is just meh, at best. The first time I got fried chicken with gravy and mashed potatoes, and it just wrecked my system. The gravy was salty and the chicken was bland and greasy. The potatoes were basically paste, so hey, they make them in house! They just don't do it well. The next time I went I ordered a breaded tenderloin sandwich because we're in Indiana, and if you can't do a tenderloin right then what are you even doing with your life? So chef, what are you doing with your life? It was blackened, but not with flavor. With char. No one came back to ask how it was (a recurring theme there), so I just ate it. Finally, I went back (what was I thinking?) and got a bison burger. Finally, a meal that was pretty good. Except the broccoli that they expertly turned into green mush. In reality, I'll probably be back, and I probably won't be happy, but it's right down the street from work and the view on a nice day keeps sucking me in. read more

Unfortunately, Wolfies has really gone downhill over the last few years. We eat there pretty consistently and live nearby, but this most recent visit may be our last. Our server was fantastic and the issues we had were outside of her control. There was trash on the deck, all over the place, not picked up. Almost ALL of the outdoor tables are rickety--we know because we've sat at a number of them in the last few months. They actually have stacks of napkins under the legs to keep tables even and even then they rock when you put weight on them. Why not just get new tables, for such a well established place? Our food order was wrong, steak was overcooked, and food was cold. I hope Wolfies improves. read more

We had high hopes for this place, but this visit fell way short. I didn't have any problems or issues with any of the staff, service was average. We had a party of four, three people ordered the steak and one had the prime rib sandwich. The steaks were all cooked at different temps. The person that choose medium rare showed us his steak and it looked like the meat was not the freshest but tasted ok. The steaks were not tender but not too tough. Now we move to the green beans - nobody ate them; they were limp and over cooked. All enjoyed the masked potatoes. It's bad customer service you have 4 hostess at the front desk and two people are trying to enter pushing two wheelchairs and the 4 hostess continue to laugh and chat amongst themselves. The handicap parking was barely marked and probably a 2 inch lip to go up the ramp. Ask for a table for 8 and put a square table next to a round table for 5. That really doesn't work when there's two wheelchairs in the party. And the waiter (with his cap on backwards) hem haws around about us wanting a long table. Yes, there was one but not handicapped accessible. Why did the customer have to explain about pushing square tables together so a party of 8....with two wheelchairs could sit comfortably. This is my 5th time visiting this location.... After 5 attempts over 4 years I'm done. I can't even handle how terrible service is every single time. Service is actually non existent. Food orders come out wrong, drinks take forever, and wait staff never check in with you. By the time you can even get someone to acknowledge you, it's too late to even care for replacements. Also, when you kindly report you received the wrong order there's no accountability and they avoid you the rest of the time. As someone in the hospitality business, I take these matters with a kind heart. It's a hard business but this establishment obviously doesn't understand the basics. Went there last night for the first time and was terribly disappointed in the service. First, it's 100x better if you get to sit outside on the water but it was a 1 hour wait (for 2 people)--with 3 tables clearly empty. I was told that they were too busy to seat people outside. You're already serving us inside...what's so hard about serving us outside? Second, the hostess forgot to bring us menus, forgot silverware, and forgot appetizer plates. Third, the first FOUR items we ordered weren't available. Finally, if you call to hear their live music schedule, the recording still has April dates listed even though this is the 3rd week of May. The servers were very friendly and working hard, but they couldn't keep up. The food was good (fried cauliflower was much better than expected) so the meal was satisfying. This place could be wonderful, especially with the view of the marina, but they have to resolve some management issues first. I'll wait a couple of weeks before trying again. read more
