Why can't this place be better! It's a gorgeous venue but they can't execute. My wife and I stopped in for a nightcap. Sat at the bar and had the bartender ignore us for 20 min. She walked past thre or four times. Never said a word didn't ask for drink orders and instead spent all her time with what I presume were the regulars. We left without ordering anything and no one noticed or cared. We'll come back when the next new owner runs the place and try again. Sat outside and ordered Ahi Tuna soft tacos. They were very good! Three tacos with a side of chips and salsa. Nothing special about the salsa. Tasted like it came from a jar but had a nice smoky chipotle flavor. My husband ordered the Grilled cheese w/ bacon and avocado with tomato soup. I was a little jealous. It looked fantastic! First off the food is okay, but slightly overpriced. Now on to the real reason for a 1 . The service is absolutely terrible. This is not my first visiting as well. Joined with a friend for Cinco and some of his friends. Bar service was the worst I've ever experienced. They maintained 3-4 bartenders the whole time however sitting on the outside bar you rarely got no order. They only focused on the inside bar. To top it off my friend had one of his friend pick up his tab as he needed to drive them home. After they were gone the bartender asked where did your friend go he didn't pay his tab. End result is I pay both of our tabs. Such a shame for a place on the water. They will succeed only because of that but they could be so much more. I won't be back. read more

Have been going to wolfies for about a year. extremely disappointed at annual change of menu. as a vegetarian, there are never many options. i fell in love with the spinach melt and really enjoyed the sauce on the cauliflower tacos. they used to have bean burgers and those are gone now. Only options r new cauliflower tacos with a new sauce or salads with meat or nuts (i have a nut allergy). I miss having warm vegetarian options and many of my vegetarian friends loved the spinach melt and will now no longer be returning sadly. read more

Wolfies has a great location on Geist however their adherence to state COVID guidelines is highly questionable. Yes staff were wearing masks but the tables aren't always spaced ensuring 6 foot separation and the bar was quite crowded. The worst however is the entrance where there was a mass of people waiting for a table to become available or waiting to request a table and of course patrons are not wearing masks. The greatest risk I've experienced since services began opening! There are many other restaurants that are taking COVID precautions much more seriously and I'll be rewarding them with my business. read more

When you are sitting outside at a table under an umbrella...on a day when the sun is not too hot...with a slight breeze coming off a lake...drinks are colder, food tastes better and service blips are forgiven more easily. This summarized the experience at the new Wolfies at Geist. The dining experience was simply made better by the atmosphere that only a restaurant by the water can provide. We arrived at lunchtime and were offered indoor or outdoor seating and we did not hesitate in requesting a table out on the large deck. Our server was friendly and helpful and was generally on top of everything until we had to track her down for our check. The food was good but unremarkable. I order the Fish Tacos (Tilapia) With sriracha aioli on the side and it was very good and worked given we were outside by the water. My wife was not in the mood for what she called "bar food" so she settled on a salad and soup. The soup was not hot but she ate it before the server could return to heat it up. She was satisfied but not delighted. My 3 year old enjoyed his "sandwich burger" and overall the experience was very pleasant. read more

Finally the perfect fit at the only Geist lakeside restaurant location. The renovations were just what was needed with one large bar in the middle giving better lake views. The menu is small but efficient with a nice selection of foods done right. The bar menu is also efficient with a nice selection of top liquors, wine, and beer. As soon as we walked in you could smell BBQ which had me wanting all the BBQ items on the menu. I got the BBQ Nachos which were pretty good but didn't have enough toppings. Once you had the chips on the top the underneath was bare. Overall though it was pretty good, just needed a more even distribution on nachos. Excellent establishment! I went there for the first time on a Friday night to watch my friend's band. It was packed when I walked in at 8:30pm, but I was immediately able to get a table inside the bar area. Michael was an excellent server. He managed all of his tables flawlessly. Went for lunch with our family of 5 on Saturday and we were sat by the window immediately. Great view over the water. Service was fast and they accommodated our 11 yr old daughter's request to customize her kid salad lettuce and toppings. The food came fast and hot and everyone enjoyed what we had. I especially enjoyed the tomato bisque with avocado grilled cheese. A perfect pairing. Would love to come back some time in the evening for drinks and snacks by the water. This was by far the best catered food... A big thank you to The kitchen staff for making the most delicious BBQ Ribs and meatballs. Hubby took me for Mother's Day drink. We were lucky found parking, got 2 seats at bar and got great service by bartender Morgan and her colleagues. Very busy but did a great job. I went to Wolfie's when I was at the Geist Reservoir on a pontoon boat trip. The food was alright. I got a BBQ burger that was decent. I think it could have used slightly more BBQ sauce so that it had more flavor on it. The service was slow on the day we came. My wife tried BBQ nachos and they didn't have enough cheese on the nachoes and they weren't mixed the best. The food wasn't terrible, but it was nothing great either. Once in 1 of the 2, I was discussed​ by the amount of hair and lint on the ​floor, looked as if no one from management had check bathroom​ because it was dirty!! Almost out of toilet paper, NO towels in paper towel dispenser​, and mind you this was about 630pm so it's not like it was super late and they had been swamped. Had to ask for more buffalo sauce just so the chips had some flavor . Wanted a salad but most of their salads consist of iceberg lettuce. My husband ordered fish and that was okay but smothered in sauce- making it not so healthy of an option. I ordered a steak - very chewy and the blue cheese topping seemed like a blue cheese and blue cheese salad dressing mixture . Jalapeño cheese sticks don't have any jalapeño taste . Our son liked his burger but they were skimpy on the fries serving . My guess is that they don't have a chef- at least it doesn't taste that way . read more
