Customer bought me lunch today from these guys. I have seen their sausages online and have always wanted to try them but never had the chance. Today the customer bought me a Brisket Sandwich with grilled onions and BBQ Sauce on a soft roll. When he returned from picking it up approx 5 miles away. The sandwich was too hot to hold it. We traveled from Tracy, today 12/21/2023 - got here and its closed...no sign on door. Who knows what happened...maybe something beyond their control. We saw some workers in the street do some repairs to a fire hydrant and possibly they have no water. We got here about 9:15am, many customers coming to the store. Where else can you go to have such a massive selection of sausage in this area (among other meat treats?) We stop by to fill the freezer with our favorites. Western Red Hots and Cheesy Bavarian always come home with us. we have tried a handful of other sausages, take these with us to every bbq. Their thick cut bacon is also amazing. And to top it off, I have tried a few sandwiches and they all have been great. The staff is helpful when I am asking for something new, they take the time to help out and give suggestions. The last time I stopped by I ended up with a ham and swiss sausage that I would have never tried if it wasn't out to sample. So lucky to have Wolfsen's a couple towns over. read more

Outstanding sausage. Wolfsens has been at my stockton farmers market on Sundays selling sausage, beef jerky and a few other items. Im usually a Lockeford sausage kinda guy. Sometimes Angelos since those are our local awesome spots. Wolfsens is the best around. the flavor combinations are great, the sausage is great. I love that its minimum amount of salt added. They plump up huge just cooking them on a pan. Ive bought probably 6 packages so far and if they keep coming I'll buy more. If not, I'll be buying when I do my monthly Monterey vacations. Ive always heard good things about Wolfsens but now that ive experienced them first hand. I can say they are some of the best ive had period. Probably the best. Ill be back! read more

Hello everyone definitely a place to check out however I tried their Italian sausage sandwich good sausage flavor but the sausage casing is extremely tough to bite or eat through . Sandwich bread was very very soft. For me too much mustard mayonnaise mix spread. For the price it's a bit expensive about 25% more than I'd like to pay because the size of the sausages are small. Good customer service and the staff is friendly. I hope this place can make some positive changes offer great hot food without the messiness. Not really a bad review but hopefully they see it and offer the hot food with condiments that a customer can put on on their own. I wish you well wolfsens.. just an honest review. It's been a while since we've stopped by to Wolfsen's. This is always a great treat for us and we happened to be by the location. We bought bacon, beef jerky and sausages Bacon. Man it's pricy but so worth it every now and again. The sausages are new flavors so haven't tried them (will update after trying) Beef jerky - the must get item. It used to come per pound. Now it's in vac bags & still so damn good. I am glad the quality seems to stay the same each time we make the random trip out to Gustine. read more

I contacted Wolfsen's regarding catering for 150 people; their response was professional and prompt! The prices are competitive and we had a great experience with them start to finish. And the FOOD! We ordered tri tip, spicy Hawaiian sausages, Mac and cheese, potato salad, beans, rolls and green salad. Being that the food had to travel an hour and they made for such a large group we had little expectation, but it was just as amazing when we reached our destination. We have eaten the leftovers for 3 days and it's still great. If we have another event in the area, we will definitely be using them again. When you enter, you're met with a freezer full of sausage varieties and a refrigerated case of premium cut meats ready to be bought. Both times I ordered the Brisket sandwich, but only because I forgot what I ordered the first time and a brisket sandwich is just too good to pass up! Even though I wanted to try something else, I still got away with a great sandwich! That meat is so flavorful and tender... *heart eyes* My only gripe is my sandwich tends to be on the soggy side because of all the delicious sauces and sauteed onions. Everyone working here is also a delight. You're welcomed right away and serviced just as quickly even though there might be a huge crowd in this small shop. So as promised, I would update my review after trying another style of sausage. So today 05/14/2020, I decided to try the smoked beer sausage but without the casing. Let me say this, such a total difference. The sausage was not only good but easy to bite into without the casing. For some reason the casing they use are just too darn firm. I loves the spicy kick in the smoked beer sausage. It was very enjoyable. My kids didn't care for it because of the spicy kick but the wife and I sure did. With that said, I definitely bumped up the review to four stars. I then tried the hot papi. Removed the casing and boom this link was awesome. I think the casing is the downfall for this sausage company. Toss the casing and go with a much softer casing. To me, that made a big difference by removing the casing. [Review based mostly on the prime rib sandwich I had...] When heading up and down I-5 between San Francisco and LA I like to pop over a few miles to take route 33 and check out the little towns and restaurants. Wolfsen's had been on my radar for awhile and I finally got a chance to check it out. I (usually) love a good butcher shop that sells sandwiches. It's a nice, clean and cute store, and I was immediately struck by the huge selection of flavored sausages, and maybe I would have been better off going with a sausage sandwich. I asked the lady at the counter which of the hot sandwiches she preferred and she said the brisket and prime rib sandwiches were the most popular. I went with the prime rib sandwich. About 10 minutes later I had my sandwich at one of the tables out front. My first bite had a hard chunk of something in the slice of meat I was eating. It looked like maybe a piece of bone that had been slice thin on a bandsaw perhaps when they were cutting the meat? I couldn't really tell. But it was pretty gross. The bread was alright, but the vegetables were sort of overwhelming. It comes with pretty large chunks of onion, mushroom and green pepper that weren't cooked down very much. The flavor of the meat tasted like maybe it had some sort of lightly smoky dry rub on it, which sounds like it would be good but I didn't really care that much for. I couldn't tell if it had any condiments like mayo on it, but that might have helped a bit. Since it is essentially a cheesesteak, it might have been better with cheese, but maybe that would have just been masking the flavors I already didn't care for. I ran into about 4 more bites of bone in the meat and eventually was just grossed out and gave up on it. I'm thinking go with the sausage sandwich or a different sandwich. read more

We went here Saturday before St. Patrick's Day. We went in because I saw their Facebook post about having corned beef sausages. So, I thought it would be different to try. So, we went in, and they did not greet us with a hi or a welcome in. There were four employees in there. Nobody asked if I was looking for something special or in particular. Actually, it was kind of rude. I asked if they still had the corned beef sausages and they said yes. I found it. I got 2 other flavors. I paid and left. They didn't even try to sell me Corned Beef. I went to Food for Less to get it. It was just a bad experience all the way around. I was disappointed. I came from Los Banos. We have a meat market here in town. I liked it, but I thought my friend's BRISKET sandwich had a lot more flavor. The roll it's on is nice and soft. + SAUSAGES: We sampled some of the sausages they had out in little crock pots. I had lunch here today on a road trip, and chose their ribeye sandwich. It would've been more helpful if they would have described it as a Philly cheesesteak, because really that's what it was. I've never had ribeye cut in such an odd way, but it was very tasty and quite awesome. The sandwich was to-go and quite messy in my car. I was prepared for the mess and it was delicious and easily managed with some napkins. My cashier was very patient and helpful, and seemed to be in charge. The staff was all friendly and efficient. Masks didn't appear to be required and we're not worn by the staff, so if that matters to you there you go. The restaurant isn't really a restaurant, but a deli counter and meat market. It was very clean but there was nowhere to sit inside except a bench to wait for your order. They do have some limited outdoor seating under a covered patio and also one open table in the sun. read more

They offered help, and a cool place to sit and wait for roadside service. Also, their sausages and hot sandwiches are amazing.
