This is probably the best dog in Chicago in my opinion. There are a few others like Hot Dog Station that make a equally amazing dog, but the fries here help knock the overall rating out of the park. I cannot stress enough how much I love this place. I was born and raised in the area, and nothing makes me feel more at home than their food. Whenever I'm traveling out of the city, my final meal before I leave and the first meal when I come back is ALWAYS Wolfys. Whenever my friends come into to town, I have to take them to Wolfys. You literally cannot go wrong with anything that you order. The staff is just incredible. They're always so nice and still manage to get your order perfect even if they're in the middle of their lunchtime rush. just realized im over 50+ reviews and never gave props to Wolfys!!! ok, so maybe not the most amazing food, but it is damn good for sure. The dogs(with everything of course) are very good, but the cheese fries reign supreme over most. Love them!!! Atmosphere is very chill and the manager is always really cool and down to earth. Went here for dinner Sunday night on the way to pick up my mom from the airport. We were going to go to KFC, but drove past this place and had to pull over. I hadn't been here in years! I had a gyro and some cheese fries, and my husband had a cheeseburger. Everything was delicious. All round good food. Gets busy at lunchtime- the place is fast with the orders so it makes sense. Had the Italian beef, fries and a drink which sets you back just under 10 bucks. I've been going to Wolfys since I was a kid and up thru highschool when they changed owners a number of years ago i thought wern't going to be as good . but thank god i was wrong they have kept there standards and upgraded the resturant also they added some kick ass stuff to the menu but kept all the old stand bys like there jr hamburgers polish and hotdogs. but they added Gyros greek chicken and mozzarlla cheese sticks. this place is awesome. and now that there is no flukys they are one of the only places you can get a good hotdog in west rodgers park. wolfys i salute you!!! read more

This place is okay for what it is. The service is quick. I didn't have to wait long for my hot dogs, fries and drink. At most places, either the fries aren't seasoned at all, or too much salt has been added. But at Wolfy's, the fries were seasoned just right. They had poppyseed hot dog buns, which is not always found at most hot dog places. I will have to go back and give some of their other food items a try. read more

A good friend of mine took me here for the first time and I loved it ever since, she also has family who works at Wolfy's! So I get to visit and peep in. Why go to McDonalds when you can go here to yummy fries, juicy burgers, sweet milkshakes, and all things burger joint-esque. This is every junk-food lover's paradise and it is a guilty pleasure of mine when I pass on through Mather High School! I've only eaten here once and I had the Gyro plate and I thought it was really good. I definitely think it'll be worth going back over and over again to try everything else on the menu. Only draw back I saw to Wolfy's was their weird parking lot. It's somewhat difficult to get in and out of it without getting honked at. Also, the sign is really cool. read more

Wolfy's is my usual spot for lunch. It's right across the street from my organization, so it's the most convenient place for me to go. Despite their food being really greasy, it's pretty good. Yeah, Wolfy's is a top contender at this point in my Chicago dog Italian beef taste test challenge. I've hit Wolfy's pretty regularly when I'm in Chi which I visit couple times a month on business. Wolfy's has a sign you can't miss and it kind of has a typical diner/old school fast food feel. The staff hustles and knows what they're doing with orders coming out hot and tasty. Metal counter when you walk in and likely a Hispanic gentleman will ask what you want. You don't really say Chicago Dog, but rather Dog with everything which will prompt them to give you the full deal. Then I order Beef, hot, wet (dipped) which they seem to understand as Italian beef with hot peppers and dunked quickly in the juice to allow the bread to quickly drink it in so as its master, you'll have a great, juicy nice bite-by-bite combination of slightly chewy bread, the juice in the bread, the flavorful beef and the kick of the gardiniera (hot peppers) and their oil. This is a beautiful thing and very yummy. Their hot dog is damn near spot on I gotta say---I think the key to any of these places is their volume: how many dogs do they sell? Are the hot dog buns gone as fast as they can get them or do they sit and get a little hard/stale? Not to the point they're inedible, but just not soft and hyper fresh like you see when a place does enough business to keep their product moving. At Wolfy's their bun & weiner has always been good & hot and the bun is perfect. Then they do the fixin's right: mustard, nuclear relish, white onion, tomato slices, dill pickle spear, sport peppers and a dose of celery salt. I always LOVE my first bite or two at Wolfy's of that first dog. I would typically start with the dog so you can get those flavors first and taste the beef 2nd if you have the hot peppers (gardiniera) onboard cuz that could kill some of your taste buds temporarily (hurts so good). Yes, I like Wolfy's. So far it is number 2 of the 8-10 I've tried. If you can get to Wolfy's, do it. Solid. read more

I've been eating here for 20 years. This is good, fresh, Chicago food. Great dogs, burgers, chicken sandwich is huge and always cooked perfectly. They even have burritos now and both the steak and chicken burritos are delicious. Cheese fries are a must too Only thing I've not liked from here is the cheesesteak, but I should've expected that.
