This place holds a special place in my heart. It's got a Cheers vibe- where everyone knows your name! The food is classic American. Most recently stopped in for a burger after working late night. I literally have never had a bad meal here. The kitchen is open late which is appreciated. You often see people coming in for pick ups. They have a bar area, a dining room and a super cute enclosed back patio. They also have a parking lot! A true Chicago rarity! Everyone is a vibe. The whole place is a vibe. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

I watched a Bears game here! The staff seemed tired but did a great job of managing the crowd and taking care of us. We had insane truffle fries and even ended with dessert. I'm surprised how good the food was. Overall, this is solid bar with good energy, clean tables, and a great food! I would definitely go back. -AD

My server, Nadia, was welcoming, attentive, and efficient - 5 stars for her service! The food, however, I would rate as 4 stars, as there was a black lump in my mashed potatoes that appeared to be a hard black lump of the potato itself - I simply removed it and ate the potatoes that tasted fine. The codfish, broccoli, and coffee were as great as always - I especially love the homemade tartar sauce - this is a favorite dish I've had many times and one of the reasons that I'm a frequent diner at Fireside. Love this dish and many others - they also have a great rewards program!

The menu offers something for everyone - everything from ribs and chicken to burgers, pizza and salads. Eat in the cozy dining room or out on the patio. The servers are great and accommodating. Attached parking lot is a plus.

Great place to go before of after visiting the cemetery for cool events at the Chapel (or, ya know, relatives.... ) Good and drinks are all great, servers are cool, vibe is chill, fireplace is warm. Wings are yummy, onion rings are gigantic and fresh, burgers are delish. Can't go wrong.

This restaurant is a bit far for us, but sssooo worth the drive! Yet another favorite of ours! So much, in fact, the server, Naomi, recognized us right away... EVEN just serving one time, last time!!! We've had different dishes each time, but that banana cake is guaranteed a constant! It's sssooo flavorful! He absolutely loved his burger & tater tots! My 12 in pizza could have used more seasonings, but it was yummy! I purposely ordered a larger one, so I'd have leftovers for lunch the next day.

Loved the neighborhood vibes of this quaint bar near Rosehill cemetery. We visited Fireside recently for a Halloween event and had a good time. We ordered cocktails from their Halloween menu and had the Expresso yourself drink. Strong coffee flavor with a punch of vodka. We enjoyed it. We ordered their bar food and the chicken tenders with fries were pretty tasty! I would definitely order them again if we're back. It was a busy night, but our server checked in on us when she could. We were not in a hurry and luckily secured a table thanks to the husband snagging a pair of seats before the crowd arrived. From the front entrance, it looks small but it's actually long and there's extra seating past the bar in the back patio. It's enclosed and could probably seat another 50-75 people. They are a year-round operation so come in and visit anytime. Enjoy their tasty food, drink and welcoming local vibe.

Haven't been to Fireside in years, and not to my surprise, the food and service was great! Was out with Mom and was in the area so we took a chance on it not being crowded being Mother's Day .... We picked the right time frame, cause as we were about to leave it was getting full ! The food we had was great from start to finish !

We held a ~50-person event at Fireside. One attendee said it was the best buffet they'd ever had. We opted for mini-sliders, coconut shrimp, chicken quesadillas with guac and other sauces, chopped fruit, and mini crab cakes. Quite good. Servers kept up with refilling the water etc. as well as they could. Nice large, bright patio with 10 or so tables is 75 degrees even when it's snowing outside. Great place I'll return to. Tip: skip the overhyped fried ribs. They're not very meaty. The crab cakes and everything else listed are good.

It was three of us meeting for dinner and some drinks. My friend had white wine, hubby had an Espressotini, and I the watermelon-cucumber marg. We ordered the cauliflower ceviche, the Cauliflower wings, and the Brussels sprouts as appetizer. Then as an entree, my friend had the Jalisco Burger, hubby had the Salmon, and I a Salmon Caesar Salad. I personally loved the salad and the appetizers were great. Everyone else ate ALL their food, so I assume they also enjoyed it. The location was actually having an 80s night and there was a Dj and space for dancing. There were some people there dress for the themed night and it was just a great vibe. Talking with our friend and eating made us lose track of time and then it was time to leave but before we did, we met one of the owners who actually recommended I come by and visit. (Shoutout to Marcos ) He is the most warm and sunny person, and he was so grateful we actually came by. We had a shot and honestly I'd come back because of him. He told us a little bit about him, his family and about the restaurant backstory. I truly recommend you coming here, you will have a great time. Oh, and almost forgot, they have outside sitting, so you know it will be a great time when you just want to have an outside patio vibe with friends and some drinks. P.s. As you can tell, there are only two pictures. I was so, involved in the moment with my friend's stories and then the appetizers came and nothing else mattered. We all lost track of time and just enjoyed the vibe, the beautiful night, and time with friends, drinks, and food. Oh and 80s music.

Kind of a sports bar but seems a little nicer than your average storeys bar. Service was friendly and helpful. I got the vegetarian ceviche, and it was delicious! It was served with aioli and a healing serving of chips. I've never eaten seafood and been vegetarian for over 30 years, but my boyfriend had a taste and also thought it was good and said they got the right flavor profile. He got the burger and tots and said both were very good. I'll definitely be back!

I Politely Asked The Waitress Whether I Could Switch One Chair So I Could Sit Comfortably. Rather Than Offering A Simple Solution, She Abruptly Told Me That She Could Not Accommodate The Request. We Then Respectfully Asked The Guests At The Nearby Table Whether They Were Using The Chair, And They Kindly Confirmed That They Were Not. We Moved It To Our Table Without Disrupting Anyone, And The Waitress Did Not Raise Any Concern Afterward. That Made The Initial Refusal Especially Frustrating. This Was A Small, Reasonable Request That Would Have Had No Impact On Other Guests Or The Staff. Instead, I Was Made To Feel Like An Inconvenience. It Was Also A Sunday Evening When The Venue Was Not Crowded At All. After The Initial Interaction, Our Server Never Came Back To Check On Our Table Or Ask Whether We Wanted To Order Additional Drinks. The Bartender Eventually Had To Come Out From Behind The Bar To See If We Needed Anything. For A Group Of Five, That Level Of Attentiveness Was Disappointing. A Venue That Promotes Itself As Welcoming And Accommodating Should Be Prepared To Make Basic Seating Adjustments For Guests With Mobility, Injury, Or Back-Related Concerns And Should Provide Consistent Service Throughout The Visit. Based On Our Experience, We Will Not Be Returning.

Alas, my catchphrase being "I eat and I know things" means ordering food is a given. That was a mistake, but not as bad as whoever made the decisions behind the Heartbreaker Burger. Let me start with the good. I started with the M&M shot, a simple yet tasty, and not face-melting combo of mescal and Montenegro. I drink spirits neat, so YMMV, but something I wouldn't mind ordering again. Next, I tried the Vieux Carre: a solidly executed classic with balanced flavors and spirit-forward without going overboard. While the bevvies are not mind-blowing, the prices are low - In the year of our Lord 2026, $12-13 for a cocktail in Chicago is almost unheard of outside of happy hour. The vibe is old-timey and retro. Loads of wood, exposed brick, and wallpaper that your great aunt probably had. There are a few game-heads on the walls, for I guess great uncle likes to hunt. There is also a piece of art on the walls that, feels almost like it can go in a museum, but not quite. Let's say this: gentlemen, I would advise against brining a date here, lest you be tempted to look a little too long. Alas, we've now arrived at the Abomination that is the, perhaps aptly named, Heartbreaker burger. The start, it was wrapped in foil and tasted through and through as though it's been sitting under a heater for at least an hour. The lettuce within had time to wilt due to the heat, making it go from a positive addition, past neutral, and into negative. The patty missed the mark: In this case, Smasburger applies to the thinness, and not at all to a roasty, crispy, Maillard-y consistency. Between the thin piece of strongly favored meat, and bun a little too large and dense, all other ingredients lost their presence. Further, If felt the burger was so bready, I removed the top bun and turned it into a fork and knife affair. I'm all for burgers getting wider, rather than only so tall one can't open their jaw so far, but not like this. Hardly worth mentioning are the sides of Tater Tots and Queso. Both weren't heartbreaking, but at the same time, wholly unremarkable. Felt as though I could easily beat these with a quick stop at Aldi. I've no complaints about the service. Since I came right around opening, it was very quiet. Still, I was well-taken care of, and things came out relatively quickly. Final verdict: Sweethearts Bar makes inexpensive, solid classic cocktails in a mostly retro vibe. However, the alleged-smashburger left a bad taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively, spoiling the experience. Would return?: Probably not. There was nothing on the menu that I couldn't easily and cheaply recreate myself. Would recommend?: Also probably not. If you're looking to catch up with a group in a space without a TV, Sweethearts and its cheap drinks aren't a bad deal. For all other cases, I would not recommend.
