Always passed by this place while shopping at Devon Market and decided to go for a quick dinner on a Monday night. They have a pretty big menu with burgers, sandwiches, sides, shakes, and cakes. There are a couple of tables to sit at so we got our food to dine in. We were promptly greeted. I will travel for a great burger, and found a fabulous burger place! My hair stylist LA Williams of Smitty's Beauty Barber Shop, located across the street from Burger Bites, introduced me to an excellent burger place. Burger Bites, a local spot on Devon Avenue, is located inside a gas station location. The place is small and clean with an option to take food to go or eat in. I heard they also deliver. The place has a great logo (which is even branded on top of the burger!) We called in the order for pick up and the meal was excellent. We received exactly what one wants The food is fast and good. The crinkle fries are crispy and delicious! Burger is extremely flavorful. I heard the establishment just celebrated 1 year anniversary (Congratulations!) and is opening up 2nd location. read more

Ok, hear me out. I know you might be hesitant to check out a burger spot in a small gas station. But trust me when I say - DO IT! I got the cowboy burger (cheddar, an onion ring, bacon, and BBQ sauce) and my goodness it was DELISH. It was so big, too, that I actually only ate half and saved the other half for the next day! On top of that, the waffle fries are soooo good. Fresh, hot, crispy, deliciousness. So much so that I actually considered going back the next day for fries and a shake. I didn't get a chance to try their shakes yet but you better believe I'll be getting one soon! They actually had a cooler with ice cream tubs so you know it's good quality and fresh! They have a couple tables inside, too, if you want to eat there. I will say it was a bit pricey, for 2 sandwiches and 2 fries it was $40. Considering the fast-cashe style and that it's a tiny spot in a gas station, I thought the price point would be a bit lower/most fast-food-ish. For that reason I gave it 4 stars. The Burger Bite is good but not great. Yesterday I went with a simple Cheeseburger and what I got was a simple Cheeseburger with their branded logo on the brioche bun. I really enjoyed it but it was nothing special that I would go out of my way to order from here anytime soon. I did appreciate the thickness of the bun as the burger did not fall apart. I also appreciated the inclusion of red onion instead of the usual white onion. I also ordered a side of cheese fries as the fries were krinkle cut. They were good as the cheese amount was just right. If you eat there or pick up, you'll have to park on Devon. Another solid spot for Rogers Park! read more

I heard about Burger Bite from the Block Club Chicago article and since they we needed a quick dinner that evening, I decided to stop in. The gas station has a convenience store. On the west side of the convenience store is Burger Bite. You may have been used to seeing a Taco Bell, McDonald's, or similar fast food place in a convenience store, but Burger Bite is a cut above. Service is friendly. There isn't really any parking. I parked along the side next to probably the owner's car, or maybe an employee. They make things to order, and it took about 20 minutes when I was here since there was no one in line or waiting. The food was good. We got a couple burgers, and some fries, onion rings, and a chocolate milkshake to share. Everything survived really well, though I live fewer than 10 minutes from here so it wasn't making a long journey. The ingredients were fresh and they make their food to order. I had a bacon cheeseburger but would be interested in trying the avocado burger sometime as well. Milkshake was the perfect thickness for me, and I would like to try the strawberry banana sometime! The one thing I wish I had thought about was to ask for the burger well done. I do not like any pink at all in my burgers. Yes, I'm one of those people--and if you are too, you want to order it well done since they'll cook if the way fancy people like it. That's on me of course and it's not their fault, of course! I love this place! I just wish they'd offer a small serving of fries for half the price. If I'm just ordering for one, this is way too many fries and it's also more expensive than I usually pay. Do you know where the Food Network when you see those little hole in the wall places in other cities that you get jealous of because that neighborhood has a great secret place to get food that nobody else knows about? This is your new place. I've been dying for somebody to open up a good old-fashioned hamburger/hotdog/sandwich place in the neighborhood and this place really sticks to the game and does it right. The food is very fresh tasting any ingredients you can tell our top quality and made fresh as you order, and even packaged in eco-friendly material which is a big bonus for me. I haven't had the ice cream or the beautiful desserts yet because I'm not much of a sweet guy, but I will come back for one of their shakes that I've heard is great. read more

One of the best BLTs in the city. This place is a lovely community hub. Kids will come in after school, grab a drink and some chips from the gas station side- then over to the burger counter to jazz em up with some chili or cheese action. Sneakily nestled on the far end of the shell gas station, Burger Bite will surprise you. One of my favorite burgers! Loyola area hidden gem (literally somewhat hidden - located within the store of the gas station). Staff are very kind. Seating is available (small tables mostly 2 seaters) but seems like lots of people come for take out as well. Combo deal available to add fries to your order. Lots of cool burger sauce/toppings. I'm sensitive to food that is cooked beyond medium rare; I can't actually eat it. The owner happened to be taking the call, and I said this has to medium rare, not a degree above that. It not only was perfectly cooked, their burger mix is exceptional, the burger was melting in my mouth as I ate it, the bun has a a burger bite brand on it, and it was very fresh! If you are going to serve fries make sure you cook them like Little Bites does. The fries were right on spot; not over or undercooked. Crisp bite, and then your tongue tastes the soft, warm potato bite within the golden fries. The owner stopped me and asked about my pick-up which was very nice. Bad cop: while the fries had a crisp it wasn't substantial and just kinda fell apart yet oddly satisfying. Burger Bite is a perfect family owned, neighborhood spot for a quick meal or dessert! Edgar has worked in the food industry most of his life and it shows. Burgers are definitely TOP TIER (love the mushroom & Swiss as well as the Avocado) and big enough that I usually take half of it home. The shakes are AWESOME (love the Oreos) and far better than Dairy Queen or some of the trendier places in Andersonville - and open later so I can walk or drive there at 9 pm when a craving hits. The wild part is that this is located in a Gas Station - formerly Citco, now Shell. The interior is all beautifully redone and the entire place is professionally managed with friendly staff. It's clean, well lit, very safe for my nighttime shake runs. The only thing not new is the cool vintage Kelvinator dessert cooler/display case that looks like it was transported from 1960. What a nice touch to bring back the old time malt shop feel. It's a friendly, delicious destination point without the attitude or pretense. Support this wonderful business! read more

These are THEEE best burgers in Chicago, IMO. I wanted to review it on Grubhub but couldn't figure out how. I have never had food this good in a restaurant next to a gas station. NEVER. Burgers are cooked to perfection, very large patties, and great buns chosen for burgers. I've ordered 3 types of burgers, in 3 different visits in the last week. Shakes are perfect, too. I've only ordered burgers, fries, and shakes, so I can't comment on the other menu items. I'd give 5 stars, except they charge more than the price posted in store if you pay by credit card. They don't tell you they charge more for using cc, it's not posted anywhere. I only saw it because I watched as my order was rung up. Also, the menus (posted and carry-out) have multiple typos. LOL! Who would think the best burger I've ever had was from a gas station! I ordered through GrubHub for delivery and saw they had a combo where you can get a burger, fries, and a drink at a lower price than ordering them individually, so I was enticed! They were very generous when I asked for a substitution, which I appreciated. At first glance, the price of one burger seemed a little bit high, but when it arrived, it was definitely worth it. The amount of food you get reflects the price. Everything was hot, crispy, and delicious.
